Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1397 - 698: May the Gods Bless the Gods

Everyone was fiercely attacking the giant spaceship trying to leave.

But some people felt it was inappropriate.

”Why attack this giant spaceship?”

Some stopped their actions and questioned.

”It’s clearly trying to leave, and it’s basically impossible for us to completely destroy it. Aren’t we just forcing it to stay and oppose us?”

His words also sparked dissatisfaction among others.

”Yeah, why attack?”

”Wouldn’t it have been better to let it go just now? But now it’s staying again...”

”Don’t pursue a fleeing enemy!”

Because Ji Chaoyang and others hadn’t informed them of Xu Xin’s plan, they felt there was no point in keeping the giant spaceship here.

But there were also differing opinions.

”We all have a way out, what are we afraid of? Even if we can’t win, we can always just run away.”

”Exactly, the enemy’s giant spaceship is obviously exhausted from the battle within that purple-black beam, it might be out of ammunition. Now is the best time to destroy it!”

”Why are we hesitating? We won’t die!”

”Exactly, if this spaceship leaves, won’t it come back to attack us again? Wouldn’t it be even harder to fight then?”

The scene was very chaotic for a while.

Some people had already stopped attacking, while others were still attacking.

This led to a decrease in the ferocity of the attacks, even though the World Tree’s nuclear missile strikes hadn’t stopped.

Hundreds of kilometers away, the originally trembling scarlet protective shield gradually stopped fluctuating.

”Everyone, our task now is to fight together!”

Qi Xuefei wanted to control the chaotic situation.

But it was meaningless, because most of the people below were followers of Xu Xin and Xu Ying.

Although they initially obeyed orders very well, after more than a month without seeing their ”divine figures,” they had long been dissatisfied.

Ji Chaoyang also slightly shook his head.

He knew this would happen.

When it’s not a specially trained army carrying out the task, it always turns out like this.

Among these people, there were soldiers from the Wei Family, mostly silently carrying out orders, with some scolding those around them who disobeyed commands.

Meanwhile, followers of Xu Xin and Xu Ying, having not received any news from Ji Chaoyang about the two, became somewhat restless.

The survivors who had experienced brutal survival were mostly in favor of fighting.

For a time, the scene was extremely chaotic.

Shi Wanyun frowned as she looked below.

”These people...!” Ma Hongwei directly reached for his waist, intending to use a weapon to suppress them.

At this moment, Ji Chaoyang spoke up, ”Everyone, Xu Xin and Xu Ying are on a secret mission. What we need to do now is buy them time. We cannot let this giant spaceship return, as it could likely threaten them.”

He finally decided to say it.

Because these fanatic followers were extremely stubborn to begin with, otherwise they wouldn’t have abandoned their existing lives to follow their divine figures to the surface without understanding anything.

Unless Xu Xin and Xu Ying appeared themselves, they were not as easily persuaded as normal people.

During the month of Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s disappearance, these people had already begun to suspect Ji Chaoyang and his group of doing something to their divine figures.

Ji Chaoyang had tried many methods to appease them for a month, but now it seemed hard to keep them under control.

So he decided to reveal a bit.

”Therefore, the longer we keep this giant spaceship here, the safer Xu Xin and Xu Ying will be. The key to victory in this battle lies with them. We must buy them time at all costs.”

His words rendered the troublemaking followers speechless for a moment.

Others started discussing it.

”Buy time...?”

”Why not let the spaceship return... is it to buy time for Brother Xin?”

”... Damn!! Are Brother Xin and the others really at the alien invaders’ base?!!”

”Huh?! No way, right? No... no way, right?!”

”Damn, did Brother Xin really sneak into their home base?!”

”I knew Brother Xin must be doing something earth-shattering since they haven’t shown up for so long!”

”Damn, really?”

The followers also stopped their unrest.

”Our divine figures have gone to the alien invaders’ base to eradicate them!”

”So strong! So strong! Truly worthy of being our Gods...”

”No, we still can’t trust what he says. The Gods haven’t appeared for so long, it’s still possible it’s because of him...”

”Are you kidding me?! Our divine figures, how could they be harmed by a mere human!”

”You should know, our Xin God has never let humans take second place when participating in survival competitions!”

”So the divine figures went to do such important things!”

”But why didn’t they tell us...”

”Do the Gods have to inform you of their actions?! If you were captured, wouldn’t you expose the plan!”

”Damn, you’re insulting my faith!”

For a while, Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s followers completely accepted this narrative.

And they started finding reasons to believe it themselves.

Meanwhile, their hands weren’t idle, resuming their actions once more.

Nuclear missiles were being launched from their hands even faster than before!

”Everyone, for our ultimate victory, we must accelerate the pace of our attack!” Ji Chaoyang said.

He also breathed a slight sigh of relief.
