Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1400 - 699: The Extravagant Alien Invader Leader

At this moment, on the other side of Earth.

Xu Xin and Xu Ying had been stealthily searching inside the World Tree for a long time.

Wearing cloaks of stealth, coupled with Xu Ying’s ability to teleport at any moment, they hardly held back.

Both of them had virtually gained nothing just now.

The feeling this World Tree gave them was...

Too safe.

This safety wasn’t for the two of them, but for the alien invaders living inside the World Tree.

The situation outside had become severe, their leader had activated four giant ships to leave, and the monsters had triggered countless alarms, putting all the alien invaders and various military facilities below on full alert.

Yet inside this World Tree, surprisingly...

So peaceful.

As if nothing had happened at all.

On their journey, the two encountered at least dozens of alien invaders.

These aliens were different from the ones Xu Xin had seen at the World Tree before, the ones running stalls.

The alien invaders here almost all belonged to a species with very smooth bodies.

No lumps on their bodies, no tentacles everywhere, just smooth like Slime, as if covered with eyes from top to bottom.

Just like the gatekeeper who died by Wen Guixin’s hand earlier, basically similar.

These alien invaders seemed entirely unaware of what was happening outside, living very leisurely inside the World Tree.

No, not seemed, they truly didn’t know.

Because Xu Xin used his telepathic abilities to read the minds of the aliens they encountered.

Although Xu Xin couldn’t clearly read due to their scattered nervous systems, he was able to grasp the gist.

Almost all were... everyday casual conversation topics.

No sense of tension.

Even the movements of the alien invaders inside the World Tree were far more graceful than those he encountered before.

Xu Xin could basically confirm these alien invaders were unaware that the hollow area of the World Tree canopy was now in a state of tense readiness for battle.

They were like a group of aristocrats living deep within a palace, oblivious to worldly affairs.

”Bro, look at that one!”

Xu Ying tugged Xu Xin’s arm, pointing to an alien invader not far away, whispering.

Both of them were now in a space filled with exotic plants.

This place somewhat resembled a miniature version of those terrifying plants from their underground world.

Tall and short plants grew intertwined, forming a scene... that appeared somewhat eerie and frightening.

Because these plants were not green, but a dark red shade.

Each of them swayed slightly without any wind in the space inside the World Tree, clearly alive.

Clearly, these were not Earth species.

Perhaps brought from the alien invaders’ home planet, or they had genetically modified Earth plants into these creations.

Considering whether these self-moving entities should even be called ”plants” is worth pondering.

And amidst these slightly swaying dark red ”plants,” there were some cleared paths.

Called paths, in truth, they were thick vines laid on the ground, preventing any plant growth here.

On these ”paths,” many alien invaders were... strolling.

Indeed, this was a park constructed by alien invaders inside the World Tree.

This ”park” was large, akin to an ordinary park, with the park space being nearly twenty meters tall.

And inside this park, over a dozen alien invaders were strolling.

Perhaps more. Xu Xin could see over a dozen at a glance.

The alien invader Xu Ying pointed at was indeed among them.

At this point, a tentacle protruded from its smooth body, slowly extending upward.

Then, the tip of its extended tentacle transformed into...

A human hand?!

This scenario piqued the curiosity of Xu Xin and Xu Ying.

”These creatures actually mimic human hands?” Xu Ying whispered.

Throughout their journey, based on their observations, they discovered these smooth-bodied, seemingly featureless aliens were actually very agile.

While they didn’t have protrusions or tentacles in ordinary states, they could morph their smooth bodies into various shapes.

They had witnessed several instances where these smooth-bodied aliens extended tentacles from their bodies.

And right before them, the alien was mimicking a human palm!

”Being the highest level, highest noble alien invaders, naturally their abilities are strongest,” Xu Xin whispered. ”Perhaps over the millennium, they discovered the human hand shape is quite suited for grasping.”

As aliens who loathe humans, unable to accept human appearances, their mimicking of human forms was indeed surprising.

The alien’s mimicked human hand continued to extend upward, and with five nimble fingers, attempted to grab a fruit hanging from a strange dark red plant.

But the branch with the fruit swung back, avoiding the alien’s reach.

However, the alien’s tentacle-mimicked hand was very agile, immediately twisting in mid-air, once again reaching for the plant.
