Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1366 - 687: Quiet Escape (2)

The alien invaders, as workers, only need to wear this transparent film and hold this laser cutter to start mining the crimson crystal.

Every time a piece of film is consumed, the cost is minimal, and it is not troublesome because the aliens have strong recovery abilities. If they feel unwell, they can leave in a hurry, and after some time, they can recover on their own, unlike machines that require repairs.

This is why the alien invader leader always uses manual cutting.

”So that’s how it is,” Lou Fei’Er finally understood, ”Then we can destroy the crimson crystal with disposable films and cutting guns for self-defense? How do we destroy it? Cut the crimson crystal into pieces with the cutting gun...”

”Of course not,” Xu Xin replied.

The monster provided a method: make small holes in various places of the crimson crystal, then insert small nuclear weapons into them, and detonate them directly after Xu Xin and the others are far away.

The core temperature of the nuclear weapon can reach billions, which is enough to vaporize the concentrated crimson crystal.

”Ah, this...” Lou Fei’Er felt confused, ”Then why not just use large nuclear weapons to detonate directly?”

”That way, it might not be completely destroyed,” Li Wenxi said. ”Even with more, if the explosion occurs outside the crimson crystal, even if the core temperature can reach billions, it might only evaporate part of the outer layer of the crimson crystal, making it impossible to destroy it completely.

If you want to destroy it entirely, it’s better to bury nuclear weapons in various places of the crimson crystal, explode it at multiple points, and completely shatter the crimson crystal before adding another large explosion.”

This is the method the monster recommended based on the equipment and weapons Xu Xin and the others have, which has the highest likelihood of success.

Xu Xin touched another bracelet on his wrist.

It was a superweapon given to him by Xu Ying from another space-time. If possible, Xu Xin didn’t want to use these weapons.

Fortunately, this plan didn’t involve using those weapons. If this plan succeeds, then there would be no need to use those weapons.

Lou Fei’Er was just about to say something when, suddenly, Jin Yue behind her said, ”Be careful, the long corridor entrance has opened again.”

Everyone turned to look.

The door, now far away from them, reopened just a crack, and a mechanical little jellyfish flew in from the gap.

Meanwhile, crimson light instantly shone from the other end of the corridor, turning the entire dim corridor into crimson!

”It’s coming over, dodge it.”

With only one little jellyfish, it was easy to dodge. Xu Xin and the others didn’t have to crouch down but leaned against the wall instead.

The small jellyfish holding the crimson crystal flew rapidly through the corridor, taking only a few seconds to traverse the distance that had taken Xu Xin and his team so long to walk, and flashed past them.

At the moment the mechanical little jellyfish flew over, Xu Xin and the others felt a slight dizziness in their heads.

The light from the small piece of crimson crystal seemed to become even more blinding and vigorous after being seized by the aliens, making Xu Xin and the others feel very uncomfortable.

Fortunately, it only lasted for a moment, and the mechanical little jellyfish had already gone far away.

”Gone.”

Everyone left the wall.

”Half of the crimson crystal has already been recovered,” Jin Yue said.

”...We must expedite our actions.”

Once the crimson crystal is fully recovered, the situation will likely become even more critical for them.

They stole the tools that could cut the crimson crystal!

Xu Xin was skeptical that the manager of this world tree failed to notice this. With the sky full of mechanical jellyfish, each of them might be a camera, so how could they possibly miss it?

”But aren’t we already taking a huge step forward?” Lou Fei’Er said quietly, watching the distant mechanical jellyfish, ”Once Yingying and Wen Gui Xin can locate the crimson crystal, won’t things proceed relatively smoothly? You guys looked so worried when you came out just now?”

”It’s not that simple...” Xu Xin shook his head helplessly.

”The current situation is actually not optimistic,” Li Wenxi said, somewhat distressed. ”We’ve stolen those two items; the opposing side is likely already suspicious whether our target is that huge crimson crystal.”

This ”crimson crystal cutter” selection must have been broadcasted to most of the alien invaders; otherwise, so many aliens wouldn’t come to this world tree.

In the eyes of this world tree’s manager, this deliberate chaos likely stems from rebels organizing to seize the crimson crystal cutter.

Although they wouldn’t suspect Xu Xin and his group, the other side would certainly intensify the surveillance over the crimson crystal.

After all, the cutters have been stolen.

In their view, the rebels who stole the cutters would undoubtedly aim to cut the crimson crystal and gain the Source of Life.

Most importantly, if they discover that the important world tree ”gatekeeper” is missing, they would be even more cautious.

The situation has truly escalated. Although they acquired essential tools with their move, it also heightened the alien invaders’ vigilance.

”...Saying more now won’t help. We can only take it step by step.” Xu Xin glanced at the cloak of concealment he wore, ”This cloak gives us a chance to succeed, even if the surveillance intensifies, and moreover...”
