Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1372 - 689: Confronting the Giant Crimson Crystal! (Part 2)

The communication between the two was very concise and efficient,

”You didn’t go back, right? Okay, I understand.” Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”Then I’m heading back.”

”Okay, I have to go too, and inform them of the news from here.”

Xu Ying lightly tapped her foot, a purple-black vortex appeared, and she disappeared on the spot.

She didn’t return directly but teleported to the exterior of the giant insect.

As soon as she got out, she saw the light bridge stretching across the sky, conspicuously against the starry night sky.

At this time, it was nighttime on this side of Earth.

She turned back to take a closer look at the giant insect.

”This feature... it should be the Insect Mother indeed. I didn’t expect the Insect Mother to come to the surface to help us voluntarily...” Xu Ying muttered to herself, ”Brother, this can be considered your legacy, right? Is that giant tentacle monster too...”

Then she shook her head, ”No, now isn’t the time to think about these things.”

The surroundings were very calm, except for the giant insect’s low snoring; there were no other sounds.

In this bombed-out land around the World Tree, fresh green shoots were starting to sprout again.

However, Xu Ying knew these new sprouts would probably never grow.

She lightly tapped her foot again, a purple-black vortex appeared, and she was consumed by it.

...

”So, that’s the situation over there.” Xu Ying explained the situation to everyone.

”So it means we still have ample time?” Wen Guixin clapped her hands, unable to hold back a smile, ”According to Ji Chaoyang, his prophecy is that they will collapse by the next morning. By this calculation, we have at least ten hours or so!”

”If that’s truly the case, our time will indeed be more relaxed,” Xu Xin also breathed a sigh of relief, ”Since that’s the case, there’s no need to rush. Do any of you need some rest?”

”Rest? Of course not!” Wang Lei waved his hand, ”I’m feeling very invigorated right now!”

Everyone expressed they didn’t need rest.

Xu Xin looked at Xu Ying.

Xu Ying had just done long-distance teleportation, and it was unclear how she was doing.

Although Xu Xin had strongly opposed her return earlier, she didn’t listen and teleported away, leaving him quite helpless.

”I don’t need rest; I feel it’s better to capitalize on our momentum.” Xu Ying said, ”Although we have more time there, it’s not the case here.”

Xu Xin was silent for a moment and nodded.

Indeed.

They had split into two teams, and neither had avoided creating some trouble.

Xu Xin’s side had stolen the cutting device for the scarlet crystal, while Xu Ying’s side had killed three alien invaders, and had specifically dealt with a guard.

As long as the alien invaders communicated a little, they could easily realize their scarlet crystal was being coveted.

”Is it about the alien invaders enhancing protection for the scarlet crystal?” Li Wenxi said somewhat helplessly, ”I think they’ve probably been on guard by now. It’s been so long; they can’t react this slowly.”

”Sigh... the main concern is that my Cloak of Invisibility might be ineffective there.” Zhao Xiaochuan was quite troubled, ”This is really frustrating.”

”It’s not ineffective; it’s just the risk of being discovered if we’re too close.” Wen Guixin said, ”So we just need to hide and not let them get too close, and it should be fine.”

”Let’s go.”

...

”So this is the inside of the World Tree... ah...!”

Xu Ying had already brought everyone to the edge of the World’s core.

This core of the World Tree, glowing scarlet, made Li Wenxi exclaim.

But she immediately covered her mouth.

Because she discovered they weren’t the only ones here.

There were actually seven or eight...

Seemingly fully armed alien invaders!

These alien invaders were enveloped in a layer of translucent film reflecting scarlet light, protecting their bodies while allowing all of their eyes to see.

At the same time, their bodies were embedded with various weapons, as if grown out of them, with portions embedded within.

... This is what fully armed alien invaders look like?

They look even more disgusting...

The appearance of Xu Xin and others didn’t draw the attention of the alien invaders.

However, two alien invaders seemed to sense something odd here, moving over with their bodies full of devices.

”... We’re too many, easy to be spotted; I’ll tuck you into the bracelet.” Xu Xin whispered.

Everyone agreed without objection.

In the end, only Xu Xin, Xu Ying, and Zhao Xiaochuan were left outside, the rest were tucked into the bracelet.

Both Xu Xin and Xu Ying were holding Zhao Xiaochuan’s arm.

His innate ability was much stronger than the Cloak of Invisibility, which might get detected, but he wouldn’t.

The three of them bypassed the alien invader moving towards them head-on, heading for the central scarlet crystal.

”Seems they’ve indeed enforced strict control here.” Zhao Xiaochuan whispered.

Xu Xin glanced at the surrounding alien invaders and whispered, ”They probably think some rebels want to seize some scarlet crystals.”
