Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1383 - 693: Too Lucky! (2)

Xu Xin counted the remaining transparent films in the backpack, finding them sufficient, so he handed one to each person: ”If we need to go up again, just wrap this around your leg.”

This was the simplest and most effective method.

Though it might slightly hinder movement.

Li Wenxi rubbed her temples, looking around.

Although the Red Mist had already obstructed her vision, her ability could still sense the surrounding turrets and mechanical jellyfish.

”How’s it going, sister-in-law?” Xu Ying asked, ”Are the mechanicals around making any big moves?”

Li Wenxi glanced around: ”No, none around... oh, those pipes releasing the Red Mist have retracted!”

Li Wenxi looked towards the wall that had opened up the second time: ”It probably won’t release any more Red Mist... huh? Why can’t I sense it anymore?”

She murmured, then suddenly widened her eyes, understanding: ”I know now, the roots of the World Tree are obscuring it, I can’t sense it anymore! That means the roots of the World Tree have intertwined again.”

She couldn’t observe the metallic structures obscured by the roots of the World Tree, which she learned only after arriving in this underground space.

Otherwise, she would have discovered the massive machinery behind the root wall long ago.

”How about over there?” Xu Xin pointed to where the monster was.

Li Wenxi shook her head: ”It’s not closed there. It’s still open, and around the entrance, numerous mechanical jellyfish are still surrounding it.”

Xu Xin and the others frowned.

The monster said it was responsible for luring these mechanical jellyfish away, has it been stalled for several minutes without action?

”Ah! There’s movement!” Li Wenxi suddenly exclaimed softly, ”They’re moving, those mechanical jellyfish are moving! Huh...?”

Li Wenxi murmured in slight surprise: ”Why are they all flying upwards?”

Flying upwards?

Next, Xu Xin and the others heard a repeated ”click” sound from the entrance to the World Tree’s core above.

”Has that sealed passage... opened again?”

”Yes!” Li Wenxi looked up, ”They went in! Those mechanical jellyfish... are lining up to exit from that entrance!”

Everyone exchanged surprised glances in the dense Red Mist.

What’s going on here?

Why did they start leaving all of a sudden?

”That guy took action!” Wen Guixin clapped her hands lightly, pleased, ”Ha, I knew it could do it!”

”But... how did it do that?” Li Wenxi asked hesitantly, ”Those mechanical jellyfish, they’re all flying out! Not a single one wants to stay? Are they just leaving this place unattended?”

”Not a single one left behind?”

Amidst their surprise, everyone was overjoyed.

Isn’t that just perfect?

All the mechanical jellyfish have left, with none of them watching over us.

This is overwhelmingly beneficial for them!

”But how did it manage that? Did they all leave?” Zhao Xiaochuan asked, puzzled.

”I’m not sure, but our current situation doesn’t allow us to waste time figuring that out,” Wen Guixin said, ”We should do what we need to do.”

”It really did keep its word.” Xu Xin let out a slight sigh of relief, then said, ”Indeed, since it’s already completing its task, we should also complete ours.”

Saying this, he glanced along the edge of the scarlet crystal.

Those three alien invaders were at the edge of the scarlet crystal.

If they remain in their previous positions, even though the Red Mist is incredibly dense now and nothing can be seen, as long as we follow the edge of the scarlet crystal, we can find them.

”Let’s go.” Xu Xin began to walk along the edge.

Because the visible distance was less than a meter, he walked slowly.

Even so, he nearly stepped on an alien invader sprawled on the ground.

”Wow, what’s going on?!” Zeng Tao exclaimed softly.

”This alien invader is lying down?!” Wang Lei widened his eyes at the alien invader slumped on the ground in a... ”layer.”

Indeed, it’s approximately... less than twenty centimeters thick, softly spread out, with its eyes tightly shut, and red, blood vessel-like streaks bulging on its body.

”These alien invaders have also undergone bloodstreak mutations, as expected,” Xu Ying muttered.

Earlier, when Xu Yin and the others were at another World Tree, they had already seen berserk alien invaders with bloodstreaks on their bodies, but now they were seeing comatose bloodstreak alien invaders here.

Probably because the light of the scarlet crystal is too intense now, and these alien invaders only have a layer of transparent film as protection, having worked here for a long period, the one-time transparent film has almost lost its effectiveness.

Therefore, under the intense scarlet light, these alien invaders were essentially unprotected from the ultra-strong scarlet light and inhaled the thick Red Mist.

Which led to their current state.

Xu Xin squatted down at this point, beginning to search around it.

They needed the cutting tool in its hand!

”Over here.” Li Wenxi said softly, then stepped into the Red Mist away from the scarlet crystal.

A few seconds later she returned, holding the cutting tool in her hand.
