Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1375 - 690: On the Gigantic Scarlet Crystal (Part 2)

It’s normal, for alien invaders, they have to land here first when coming down, so it’s normal for this place to be a bit flat.

”Finally, we’re down...” Wang Lei patted his chest as soon as he got down, feeling a bit scared, ”Gosh, those cannons below, I was really afraid they’d fire directly at me...”

Everyone was squatting at this moment.

Xu Xin suddenly frowned and looked at the mechanical jellyfish surrounding them from all directions, deep in thought.

Xu Ying rubbed her eyes that were stimulated by the intense crimson light and said, ”Did you all see the situation below clearly just now?”

”It was too bright. I only saw a general view, all were turrets.” Zeng Tao also rubbed his eyes and said.

”Apart from turrets, there were also three alien invaders extracting crimson crystals,” Jin Yue said softly.

”I saw it too.” Lou Fei’Er nodded and whispered, ”In everyone’s hand, there was a dazzling white laser beam.”

”Other than that, there were no other alien invaders.” Qin Fu looked downward and said, ”It seems most of the alien invaders are not allowed in this area.”

”Yes, in their hands are the tools we need.” Xu Ying said softly.

”Don’t we have tools already?” Wang Lei asked.

”Only the one in the boss’s hand, I’m afraid it’s very inefficient.” Qin Fu spread his hands and said, ”I observed the cutting speed of those alien invaders below, well...”

”Too slow.” Xu Ying pursed her lips and whispered, ”The cutting speed is very slow. If it was according to the previous plan, we need to drill many holes in the crimson crystal and then insert small nuclear weapons.”

She was somewhat troubled, ”But if we only use one laser cutter, our efficiency will be very low.”

Everyone felt a bit heavy-hearted.

Not well-prepared.

But there’s no choice, this was the best preparation they could make at the moment.

Xu Xin had already taken out the laser cutter that resembled a pen.

Since it wasn’t designed for human hand shape, it wasn’t easy to hold. To grip it steadily, he seemed to only be able to hold it like a dagger, using either a forward or reverse grip for cutting.

”We can try giving it a go.”

He wanted to activate the laser cutter but looked around worriedly at the mechanical jellyfish still spinning at a steady pace.

From earlier, he felt that their position could actually be hit by the turrets below.

Controlling those turrets wasn’t the turrets themselves, but the surrounding mechanical jellyfish spinning around.

These jellyfish observe any abnormal situation, send attack commands to the turrets, and the turrets will attack.

As for their current position not seeing turrets, and turrets unable to reach them...

The turret shells may not necessarily be in a straight ballistic like firearms, right?

What if they are mortar shells?

Wouldn’t they be able to hit them now above the crystal?

Xu Xin forcefully closed his eyes and squeezed his eyes that were dry and uncomfortable from the intense red glow, then looked at the laser cutter in his hand.

If this laser cutter is activated, can the powerful white light be eliminated?

Feels difficult...

The cloak of secrecy on him seems hard to achieve that.

But there is one person who can do it.

”Zhao Xiaochuan, I’ll hand over this laser cutter to you,” Xu Xin said softly and passed the laser cutter looking like a pen over.

”Me? Alright!” Zhao Xiaochuan was stunned for a moment but still happily took the laser cutter like a pen, ”How do I use this thing? Do you want me to cut here?”

”No.” Xu Xin pointed to the mechanical jellyfish around them, ”I suspect...”

He explained his previous suspicions in one go.

Everyone nodded. Xu Xin’s guess made sense.

”So, you’re the one among us least likely to be discovered, the task of drilling holes is handed over to you.” Xu Xin said softly, ”But this is not suitable here, let’s find a place less likely to be found.”

The so-called drilling, is to let Zhao Xiaochuan hold this laser cutter, cut a hole in the crystal where one person can work inside and not be detected from outside.

Once such a hole is carved out, the cutting task doesn’t matter if it’s not Zhao Xiaochuan doing it.

However, Xu Xin felt that even Zhao Xiaochuan shouldn’t cut at such conspicuous central locations on the crystal, if discovered, it wouldn’t be a joke.

”Not cutting here, then where?” Li Wenxi whispered, ”Compared to other places, this should be considered quite safe, right? We definitely can’t go down, can we?”

”I understand now.” Xu Ying understood Xu Xin’s meaning, ”Brother, you mean to consider the damaged spots on this crimson crystal for carving, right?”

Xu Xin nodded.

”I checked generally when we were above.” Xu Xin rubbed his eyes again and said solemnly, ”Although the overall look of this crimson crystal is smooth, there are also some potholes.”

”Over there.” Qin Fu pointed to a location about five or six meters away, ”There is a pit there.”

”There’s also one over there.” Zeng Tao pointed to another direction, ”There are quite a few small pits on this crystal.”

Xu Xin nodded slightly, ”These small pits should have resulted from initial irregular cutting by the alien invaders.”
