Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1388 - 695: A Weapon Capable of Creating Black Holes

Xu Xin and Xu Ying chatted for about five minutes.

”Yingying and I will go up for a bit. We’ll be back soon. You all stay here and be careful.”

The first thing Xu Xin said upon returning shocked everyone.

”What? You’re really going? You’re going too?”

Wen Guixin looked bewildered. ”Are you guys crazy?!”

”Huh?”

Zeng Tao looked bewildered as well.

”Seems like the boss has his own plan,” Qin Fu said from where he sat on the ground, propping himself up with both hands behind him. ”You guys should be the careful ones. We’re quite safe here.”

He didn’t stop Xu Xin and Xu Ying, but it was clear he didn’t want to get involved in this mess.

Li Wenxi grabbed the arms of both Xu Xin and Xu Ying as Xu Ying emerged from the Red Mist behind him. ”Are you two serious?”

”Yes, don’t worry. We’re just... going to fetch something.”

Xu Xin patted little Keke’s head in his arms.

”Mmm...”

Only half of Keke’s little head was sticking out. Its mouth and nose were hidden in Xu Xin’s cloak, so its voice was muffled.

It clearly didn’t want to inhale any of the Red Mist.

”Fetch something?”

Li Wenxi held onto him. ”You really... Then I’m going with you!”

”I’ll go too!” Lou Fei’Er stepped forward. ”Take me along as well!”

”No, it’s better if you stay here,” Xu Xin shook his head and refused them, at the same time taking off his wristband and handing it to Li Wenxi. ”If something goes wrong here, let Zhao Xiaochuan bring everyone into the wristband.”

With just Zhao Xiaochuan alone, his abilities would almost certainly keep them hidden. Everyone would be very safe.

Li Wenxi looked at the wristband in her hand, then at Xu Xin.

”Don’t worry, as long as Yingying’s teleportation ability is here, we’ll be fine.” Xu Xin patted her head.

”...But at least explain everything carefully!” Li Wenxi grasped his arm.

She didn’t try to stop Xu Xin, but at least wanted some peace of mind.

”It’s like this, Yingying is now...” Xu Xin pondered for a moment, starting to explain.

But before he could finish half a sentence, Xu Ying suddenly pried off Li Wenxi’s hand from Xu Xin’s arm.

”Sis-in-law, borrow my older brother for now, okay?”

Xu Ying smiled at Li Wenxi, and a purple-black vortex under their feet instantly expanded, making them vanish in a blink.

Li Wenxi, shocked, tried to grab the two of them, but caught nothing.

Lou Fei’Er flashed forward quickly, but still failed to catch this ride.

She knelt on the ground, hitting the spot where the purple-black vortex had disappeared, a bit angry. ”What’s this, why did they suddenly just up and leave! They really chose to act by themselves at such a critical moment!”

”They actually went?!” Wen Guixin only then reacted, ”What the... Maybe it would have been better for me to control an alien invader to take them up!”

”I think they’re actually safer this way.”

Sitting on the ground, Qin Fu waved at the Red Mist in front of him.

”To get inside the World Tree’s inner space, they’ll definitely need to pass through that hollow region above us.”

Qin Fu pointed upward.

”But that area is not safe right now. If you took a controlled alien invader up there and they questioned why you were there, wouldn’t that blow your cover right away?”

”...That’s true. But why do they insist on going up there?”

Wen Guixin was puzzled. ”Isn’t our mission going very smoothly?”

”Very smoothly...”

Li Wenxi glanced at the scarlet crystals already sliced into several tunnels. ”Indeed, everything is going according to plan, everything is smooth, but...”

Xu Ying seemed a bit strange earlier, albeit acting normal, she was clearly anxious.

Everything really was going according to their plan. But if this somewhat hasty plan of theirs...

Was flawed from the start?

Li Wenxi looked at the wristband in her hand.

”Let’s hope we don’t encounter any danger...”

...

Xu Xin and Xu Ying had already reached the hollow region within the World Tree’s trunk above.

The moment they saw the situation here, Xu Xin immediately held his breath.

So many alien invaders!

Over a hundred alien invaders, thousands of eyes densely placed throughout this space.

There were also many mechanical devices with strange appearances, but clearly weapons at a glance!

The whole space, under the illumination of the scarlet glow from the World Tree’s core, felt like a bloodthirsty battlefield!

How did the creatures turn the situation to this?

The position where Xu Xin and Xu Ying appeared was the furthest away from the World Tree’s core.

This was because, based on their speculation, the World Tree core’s light would diminish the effect of their invisibility cloaks, so the two of them couldn’t get too close to the core.

Xu Xin glanced at Xu Ying beside him quietly observing the surroundings, sighing inwardly.

Earlier, Xu Ying told him their plan...

Had gone wrong.

”Our nuclear weapons probably can’t completely destroy the scarlet crystals.”

She had observed the scarlet crystals for a long time and discovered a fact.

The various physical properties of these condensed scarlet crystals are remarkably similar to the opalescent crystals on Earth.

Only the laser core of the cutter, reaching temperatures of billions of degrees, could cut through the scarlet crystals, whereas other tools and weapons couldn’t even scratch it.
