Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1371 - 689: Facing the Colossal Crimson Crystal!

As Xu Xin and the others set out, on the other side of Earth, stood the World Tree.

”Do you think those alien invaders might have already gone back?” Qin Yunlong stood on the control console, observing the situation outside.

At this moment, there weren’t many people in the underground space; most had returned above ground.

There was no other way, as there had been no changes outside the World Tree for four consecutive hours.

In the distance, that extremely thick purple-black pillar of light still bent at the horizon, spanning the sky like a bridge of light.

But ever since that giant ship was dragged into the purple-black pillar by bizarre giant tentacles, there had been no further activity from it, not even a mosquito emerging.

And beside the World Tree, the giant insect still encircled it tightly, only now, it was emitting a somewhat low snore.

Indeed, this super long entity seemed to have fallen asleep from boredom.

Even more bored were Ji Chaoyang and his team.

Understand that, while four hours had passed outside, it had been a full four hundred hours inside!

A whole sixteen to seventeen days!

With no external crisis in sight, they couldn’t just linger here indefinitely.

Understand that prolonged mental strain significantly impacts morale as well.

So, starting from the third day, besides leaving a dozen people to monitor the outside, most had returned to the surface for a strategic rest.

If anything happened, they would be immediately summoned.

No need to worry about delays, since time inside World Tree flows a hundred times faster; just a few seconds outside would be enough for those inside to stand ready.

But who knew, this rest would last over half a month.

Outside, there was no movement for four full hours.

It couldn’t help but make one wonder if the alien invaders had already left?

”Not sure.” Ji Chaoyang looked at the purple-black pillar of light, ”All we can do is remain vigilant at all times.”

Most of this half month, he had spent atop the control console in this underground space.

”Ah, if only we could contact Brother Xin.” Qin Yunlong sighed, ”The situation on their side is unclear, and it’s not clear here either, it’s really...”

”Something we can’t help, we can’t communicate with those on the other side of the Earth... Hmm?”

Ji Chaoyang’s voice paused slightly.

”What’s wrong... ah!” Qin Yunlong’s mouth dropped open in shock, ”Is that Xu Ying?”

At this time, in the scene on the control console, the figure of a girl suddenly appeared below the crown of the World Tree.

As soon as she arrived, she was startled by the giant insect encircling the World Tree, staring blankly at its massive body for several seconds without moving.

And those few seconds outside were stretched into several minutes inside the World Tree.

”It’s Xu Ying.” Ji Chaoyang’s eyes lit up, muttering to himself, ”It’s her. Is she the only one who came back... That means their mission isn’t completed, Xu Ying just came back to check on things here.”

With that, he stood up.

”What are you doing?”

”I’m going out to explain the situation to her, and let’s not let her enter the World Tree,” Ji Chaoyang said, ”Given her current state, it’s best not to enter or exit the World Tree; otherwise, it could make her existence even more unstable.”

...

”This... is this... the Insect Mother?” Xu Ying could hardly believe her eyes, ”Is it the Insect Mother? No... is the Insect Mother this big? What on earth happened here...”

She turned back to look at the World Tree.

At this point, Ji Chaoyang had already come out from the World Tree and was walking towards her.

”Wow, you came down fast.” Xu Ying smiled.

She had only planned to come over and take a quick look at the situation.

In her imagination, this place should be engulfed in war.

She just intended to have a quick look to see if the alien invaders had conquered the World Tree so that they could plan their time and strategy more securely.

After all, if this place had already fallen, it would mean the alien invaders would soon be returning.

And if there was danger here on the battlefield, she would immediately teleport back.

But instead, she witnessed this scene.

The giant insect completely shrouded the World Tree outside, making it entirely invisible, she could only see in Crystal City the giant beasts and petrified giant beasts lying or sitting, or languidly strolling.

There’s almost no damage.

This is completely contrary to what she had imagined.

Fortunately, Ji Chaoyang came out at this moment.

”A lot has happened here.” Ji Chaoyang got straight to the point, using a few minutes to briefly explain to Xu Ying what had happened here.

”The giant ship of the alien invaders... was dragged into the Transmission Array pillar of light by an unknown giant tentacle creature...?!”

Xu Ying was left dumbfounded.

What’s going on?

”What about your side?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

”...Everything is ready, we’re about to proceed with the final step. The alien invaders haven’t returned either. So, you must remain vigilant here as well.”

Xu Ying frowned slightly, completely at a loss about the situation here.

Even she had no idea what the giant tentacle creature in the purple-black pillar of light was.

In the Transmission Array pillar of light... that’s a space-time rift.

That giant tentacle creature could move within the space-time rift?!
