Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1369 - 688: Killed Another 2? (Part 2)

The enormous power contained in the small body directly burst the eyes on the alien invader’s body that were wide open in terror, simultaneously stamping the alien invader into the ground with a single kick.

Subsequently, Wang Lei arrived, leaping into the air and landing directly on this alien invader. His hands pressed down on its body, the terrifying force pinning it to the ground.

Their gigantic movement caused their previously low-presence figures to become fully exposed in the eyes of another alien invader moving towards them.

That alien invader immediately let out a strange scream and bolted in the opposite direction.

But Wen Guixin and Qin Fu were already waiting for it.

Neither of them used firearms but instead picked up their previous weapons.

Wen Guixin swung her large scythe directly, a flash of cold light slicing off a part of the alien invader’s body. At the same time, she hooked the inside of the scythe to halt the alien invader’s forward momentum.

Qin Fu, on the other hand, frequently shot arrows, pinning the part of the alien invader’s body close to the ground, preventing it from escaping for the moment.

The alien invader, screaming in pain, was instantly immobilized on the spot.

And at the same time, Zeng Tao caught up, let out a delicate shout, jumped fiercely, and smashed down on the alien invader!

Her terrifying weight directly flattened the alien invader!

Because the alien invader’s body was covered with eyes, the scene was once quite uncomfortable.

At this point, Wang Lei and Zeng Tao each pinned an alien invader to the ground with brute force, unable to escape.

Afterwards, it became straightforward. Wen Guixin grabbed each one and directly eroded the two alien invaders.

Moreover, the speed at which these two alien invaders were eroded was very fast. Compared to eroding the gatekeeper, which took ten minutes, it took less than a minute for these two alien invaders to be completely eroded.

It was evident that the physical strength of these two was much lower than that of the World Tree’s ”gatekeeper.”

”Speaking of which, the two alien invaders we encountered weren’t strong at all.” Zeng Tao lightly waved her fist, ”It felt like they could be easily blown away.”

”Maybe they are the couch potatoes among the alien invaders, with ultra-low combat power.” Zhao Xiaochuan shrugged, then frowned, ”Sigh, my ability actually failed, making me really feel insecure now...”

”... Yeah, why were we discovered?” Lou Fei’Er asked, somewhat puzzled, ”On our side, the alien invaders didn’t discover us at all, or else we wouldn’t have been able to get out alive.”

”We speculate that it may have been caused by the core of the World Tree or the light of the scarlet crystal,” Xu Ying said. ”The light from the core of the World Tree shining on us probably increased our presence a bit, causing that alien invader to discover us during close observation.”

”Ah...” Li Wenxi pursed her lips, ”So, over there, the Cloak of Concealment isn’t that useful anymore...”

...

After controlling the two alien invaders, Wen Guixin attempted to manipulate them to use the vine ball elevator to descend into the underground space and approach the scarlet crystal.

But it didn’t work.

Because the vine ball elevator could not enter the underground space and could only ascend into the World Tree itself.

But in that case, wouldn’t it be further from the target?

Thus, with no other option, they began searching the vicinity again, trying to find an entrance to the underground space from here.

As a result, they accidentally found the entrance.

They were amazed to discover that the entrance to the underground world was right in front of them, on this giant World Tree core emitting a mix of bright white and scarlet light!

”Brother Xin, you didn’t see it. There is actually a very secret opening on that World Tree core!” Zhao Xiaochuan gestured with his hands to describe, ”The location of the opening is actually right at the top of that giant core!”

The World Tree core is enormous; even with only half of it exposed above ground, its highest point is thirty to forty meters high.

And the entrance to the underground space of the World Tree and the scarlet crystal’s location is right at the highest point of this World Tree core!

At the highest point of the World Tree core, there’s an opening about the size of a well mouth.

The opening doesn’t lead directly down vertically but instead spirals downward like a rotating slide.

This ”rotating slide” entrance was discovered by Zeng Tao.

Out of curiosity about the World Tree core, which emitted a scarlet glow, she leaned on it and looked inside its semi-transparent interior.

Then, she saw that there seemed to be a more opaque part inside, resembling a DNA helix compared to the other areas.

So everyone struggled to climb on top of the World Tree core, and this ”rotating slide” entrance was discovered.

But because the passage spirals downward, they could not see clearly whether it could indeed lead further down.

The one who attempted to go down this entrance was Xu Ying; after all, she has the ability to teleport through space, so even if there is danger below, she can teleport right back up.

So, Xu Ying directly entered the hole, sliding down this World Tree core version of the ”rotating slide.”
