Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1368 - 688: Killed Two More?

”Are you sure there’s no problem with teleporting such a long distance?” Xu Xin asked Xu Ying with some concern.

”A few hundred kilometers is considered far?” Xu Ying waved her hand dismissively. ”Don’t worry, as long as it’s a place I’ve been to, there won’t be any problem. I could even send you all back to the world tree right now without any issue.”

At the moment, everyone was in an incredibly dark world, with only the core of a treehouse emitting a faint white light, illuminating the surrounding area within dozens of meters.

Surrounding them were somewhat damp rock walls.

They were now located in an underground cave of the subterranean world.

Yes, Xu Ying had directly teleported everyone to a cave in the underground world, a place they had passed by before.

”You better not push yourself too hard,” Xu Xin reminded.

”Oh, you’re so annoying,” Xu Ying turned her head away.

”Alright, alright, we should start talking business now!” Wen Guixin, who was sitting on the ground leaning against the rock wall, spoke up, ”What exactly have you experienced? Why were you in there for so long?”

”Yeah, after we got out, we waited for at least half an hour,” Zeng Tao, sitting next to Lou Fei’Er, gave her a gentle punch. ”What exactly did you go through?”

”The main point is on your side, right?” Lou Fei’Er asked those who entered the other side of the world tree, ”How was it on your side? Did you find a way to get close to the scarlet crystal?”

”Of course, we overcame numerous challenges, and even took down several alien invaders!” Zhao Xiaochuan said proudly.

”You took down several alien invaders?!” Li Wenxi widened her eyes in surprise, ”Really?”

”How could it be fake? I even contributed to that!” Wang Lei thumped his chest with a face full of pride.

Qin Fu leaned against the rock wall, shrugged, and said, ”You don’t really think taking down a few alien invaders is a good thing, do you?”

Xu Ying also responded somewhat helplessly, ”The situation on our side isn’t optimistic.”

...

As soon as they discovered the world tree core glowing with scarlet light, they began searching for a way to enter the underground space of the world tree to approach that scarlet crystal.

But just as they were searching for an entrance, unexpected guests arrived.

No, actually, they were the unexpected guests; the residents of the world tree arrived.

It seemed that the ”guard” brought them in, causing the alien invaders living inside the world tree to sense something unusual.

”So, you just took down those two alien invaders...?” Li Wenxi asked in shock, ”How did you do it?”

”The method we used was actually quite simple and crude.”

These two alien invaders descended from the sky using the vine ball elevator that Xu Ying and her team were very familiar with.

Possibly because the strong ones had already left with the army, the remaining alien invaders inside the world tree were those with low combat abilities, so these two inspecting alien invaders were quite weak, not even carrying any weapons.

The feeling they gave was... they simply came down to take a look.

But this was normal, as inside the most important world tree, carrying weapons was probably not allowed. It was evident given that all armed military members lived in an area outside the world tree.

And for this main world tree, its interior had been very safe for nearly a thousand years, so they probably didn’t think there would be any danger.

They came down to check probably only because they found something strange, wanting to see what was happening below.

So initially, Xu Ying’s group didn’t want to alert them but just quietly waited for the two alien invaders to conduct their inspections.

Zhao Xiaochuan even went to check on the vine ball elevator to look at its condition.

But to the astonishment of Wen Guixin, Xu Ying, and others, these two alien invaders gradually became aware of their group’s presence during their inspection!

One of the alien invaders moved its body in front of the group, constantly scrutinizing them.

A few seconds later, it let out a machine-like, piercing shriek and rushed towards the vine ball elevator.

To an alien invader who had never seen humans before, seeing humans was like encountering terrifying monsters!

Especially for this alien invader, it was like when you examine a few peculiarly shaped stones up close, only to suddenly discover that these stones aren’t stones but rather ugly creatures disguised as rocks!

So, although it was wriggling on the ground, it gave Xu Ying and her team a feeling of... rolling and crawling.

Screaming as it fled!

This also caused the other alien invader to look over.

It seemed not to have noticed Xu Ying and her team and expressed confusion over its companion’s terrified scream.

And right then, Xu Ying’s group immediately realized what was happening.

They had been discovered!

They certainly couldn’t let the alien invaders return to the vine ball elevator; otherwise, their presence there would be completely exposed!

So they immediately took action.

Xu Ying directly teleported, blocking the retreat path of the alien invader that was screaming and fleeing, causing it to once again emit an extremely piercing scream as it fled in another direction.

And by then, Zeng Tao had already arrived, raising her foot and kicking the alien invader’s body head-on.
