Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1358 - 684: Human Traffic Jam (Part 3)

If we keep waiting, who knows when we’ll get a chance.

They have to do something to break the deadlock, time waits for no one.

What should they do...

Xu Xin touched his backpack.

He had a bold idea.

”What do you think if I throw out the red crystal from my backpack? Will it attract their attention?” Xu Xin said softly, ”Will they be drawn to the red crystal and then disperse?”

”Huh?” Li Wenxi was initially stunned, then her eyes lit up, ”Yeah! The red crystal! That thing must be highly attractive to them, right?”

Lou Fei’Er looked at Xu Xin’s backpack: ”The crystal is really bright; it will definitely catch their eye. How many do you still have? Didn’t you give a bunch to Yingying before?”

”I gave away half, and I still have about a dozen left, more than enough,” Xu Xin said.

”Are you sure...it’ll work?” Jin Yue suddenly said, frowning slightly, ”This is the stronghold of the alien invaders. Wouldn’t the people here...have plenty of red crystals?”

Xu Xin stroked his chin.

Indeed, the alien invaders here are likely the subordinates of the leader, so they probably don’t lack the red crystals as their ’Source of Life.’

The red crystals might not be that enticing to them.

Someone who never lacks water and can drink whenever they’re thirsty wouldn’t be tempted by a bottle of water.

But the red crystal is not like a bottle of water.

It’s bright!

Its very presence there is highly noticeable.

Let alone the fact that it’s a strictly regulated contraband.

If it suddenly appears, even if these alien invaders never lack red crystals, it would surely draw their attention.

It might even cause total chaos in this market, stir up those mechanical jellyfish and force the controllers of the mechanical jellyfish to appear.

So, it is a valid method, but it will definitely create a huge commotion.

Huge enough to possibly affect their actions in another world tree.

Should we act?

Or wait a little longer?

”Ehh...ehh!” Keke cried twice.

Xu Xin could clearly sense Keke’s desire for the item surrounded by the alien invaders.

”Let’s do it,” Lou Fei’Er whispered, ”We don’t have much time to hesitate.”

Li Wenxi nodded as well, ”I also think this method is suitable.”

”I think it shouldn’t affect the overall situation,” Jin Yue whispered, ”This isn’t the same world tree, and there are so many alien invaders here. Even if we throw out the red crystal, they might suspect there’s a traitor among them and blame it on these alien invaders present.”

Xu Xin nodded gently.

Indeed, using the red crystal as bait here shouldn’t pose any major issue.

At most, this world tree will be thrown into chaos.

The real impact on the larger scheme would be on Yingying’s side.

If they use small pieces of red crystal as bait over there, the opponent might become highly vigilant.

We don’t know what’s happening on their side, whether they’ve found their target yet.

”Alright, it’s decided. Use the red crystal as bait to completely disrupt this market,” Xu Xin said softly.

”Hey, I have an idea for a plan,” Lou Fei’Er whispered to the three.

Lou Fei’Er’s plan wasn’t complicated.

First of all, it shouldn’t be as simple as Xu Xin throwing the red crystal.

That would easily expose his position, and the red crystals wouldn’t be spread out, failing to attract more attention while also drawing everyone to him, defeating the purpose.

”Throwing the red crystals will be up to Jin Yue and me,” Lou Fei’Er glanced at Jin Yue.

Jin Yue nodded.

Lou Fei’Er smiled slightly, ”The two of us will take the red crystals to distant points, and at the right moment, we’ll toss out the red crystals.”

She pointed in two different directions, ”I’ll go in that direction, Jin Yue in the other. This way, red crystals will appear simultaneously in two directions, and we can throw out a few more to really grab their attention.”

”Wenxi will stay here to monitor the movements of the jellyfish mechanics above. Once they’re drawn away and the clustered alien invaders disperse or at least open up a bit...” Lou Fei’Er pointed at the large, somewhat terrifying writhing mass of black mud.

”I can sneak in and steal the item we need to take advantage of the chaos,” Xu Xin said in a low voice.

The plan he had in mind coincidentally aligned with Lou Fei’Er’s proposal.

Jin Yue nodded gently, agreeing with the plan.

Now wasn’t the time for lengthy discussions, so he promptly made the decision, ”This plan is feasible.”

Xu Xin said this, reaching into his backpack to retrieve six red crystals, placing each hand holding the crystals into Lou Fei’Er’s and Jin Yue’s backpacks, giving each three.

He hadn’t put small pieces of red crystal into the bracelet before because everyone inside the bracelet hadn’t been released yet; their light would affect everyone.

But now, only monsters were inside the bracelet, and they wouldn’t be affected by the red crystals.

Though, since he just put the crystals in, the monsters must have noticed them.

It’s time to find a chance to let the monsters out.

”You two must be careful, and preferably wrap the red crystals before tossing them; move immediately to avoid being discovered,” Xu Xin warned.

”Don’t worry, Jin Yue and I are good at this,” Lou Fei’Er patted her chest.

”I have no problem here either,” Li Wenxi said softly.

Xu Xin petted Keke in his arms, ”Keke, you should know how to get out of the world tree, right?”

Since Keke brought them in, he could naturally take them out.

The corridor from before was a one-way entrance, the exit was elsewhere.

Once they succeed, they must leave immediately, or they risk being trapped inside the world tree, significantly increasing the likelihood of being discovered.

”Ehh!” Keke nodded his small head.

Looks like everything is set.

”Let’s begin our operation. We’re going to disrupt this world tree.”
