Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1381 - 692: Artillery Fire Filling the Underground Space! (Part 2)

From a bright white expanse, it transformed into pitch black.

Five minutes had passed, Li Wenxi released him from the wristband.

”How did it go?” Li Wenxi handed the wristband back to him, ”How did the talk go.”

”Eep!” Keke let out a small sound.

”Oh, Keke came out too?”

Xu Xin spoke softly, ”This machine...”

Xu Xin told them about the function of the machine and then said, ”This machine is not of great significance to us. However, if it can be destroyed, it should be destroyed. Quite a few scarlet crystal fragments should be stored in this machine by now.”

If you’re going to do it, do it thoroughly.

Most of the previously cut scarlet crystals have already been consumed by those four giant ships, and the newly cut ones should all be in this machine now.

As long as they destroy this large scarlet crystal and the entire machine, their task will be completed.

”Do you think we should leave them a bit?” Zeng Tao’s voice emerged from the darkness, ”If it’s all gone, wouldn’t they lose the ability to go back?”

If all the scarlet crystals are gone, their giant ships won’t start, naturally, they won’t be able to go back.

”Isn’t that better?” Wen Guixin retorted, ”Let these bastards die on Earth, don’t let them go back!”

”Hmm, makes sense, as long as they don’t make a last-ditch counterattack.” Xu Ying said.

”What’s there to fear, we directly move into the world tree in the ocean and see if they dare to counterattack.”

Xu Xin sighed helplessly, ”Now is not the time to talk about this. Alright, everyone get ready, I’m going to release it. You all must be careful.”

”Don’t worry.”

”Go ahead.”

”I’m ready!”

Xu Xin took a deep breath and turned the wristband.

Then, the monstrous being appeared right in front of them.

Xu Xin’s eyes had adapted to the darkness, coupled with his enhanced vision, he could roughly see the outline in the darkness.

As soon as the monster appeared, his pupils narrowed: ”Why are you...”

Why aren’t you wearing the cloaking cape?!

It was clearly wearing it when it was inside!

Although he wanted to say this, an incredibly piercing alarm suddenly interrupted his words.

”——————”

Accompanied by the piercing alarm, the small space was also instantly illuminated by frequently flashing emerald green light!

At the same time, several laser-like emerald green beams directly hit the monster.

This room had more than ten cameras, without the cloaking cape on, it would naturally be immediately detected!

”My situation is special, at this location, wearing or not wearing the cloaking cape will certainly be detected.” The monster quickly explained, ”You guys need to teleport out quickly, look over there.”

It raised its distorted arm, longer than its leg, and pointed at the wall of world tree roots.

That wall was slowly opening!

And through the already loosened gap, Xu Xin and the others saw the dark cannon muzzles amidst a scarlet glow!

Damn, those cannons are going to fire!

Damn it, aren’t they afraid of wrecking this machine with their shots?

At this moment, Xu Xin’s arm was grabbed by Xu Ying, she also grabbed Li Wenxi’s arm, ”You all, hold onto me, we’re going to teleport!”

The piercing alarm drowned out Xu Ying’s voice, but her actions made it very clear to everyone what she intended to do next, and they hurriedly grabbed onto her.

Then a purple-black vortex appeared beneath their feet.

”Leave it to me.”

As they fell into the purple-black vortex, the monster’s raspy, unpleasant voice reached their ears.

Then, they appeared above the scarlet crystal.

They appeared around the pit Zhao Xiaochuan was excavating.

At this time, the countless mechanical jellyfish were no longer swiftly circling around the scarlet crystal as before; instead, they collectively flew towards the wall that was opening, hovering in the air in front of the wall.

Simultaneously, flashing green alarm lights appeared on their bodies.

”...What’s going on now?”

Zhao Xiaochuan cautiously asked as he revealed his head in the pit.

At this moment, Zhao Xiaochuan had stopped cutting, while outside the pit, Wang Lei and Jin Yue looked gravely at the spot where the scarlet jellyfish were gathering.

Jin Yue had also shut off the silencing device in her hand.

”The monster has been released. It’s going to help us draw away those mechanical jellyfish.” Zeng Tao explained, and then said somewhat doubtfully, ”But... can it succeed? How is it going to lure all these mechanical jellyfish away?”

”Eep...” Keke poked its head out from Xu Xin’s embrace, tilting its little head, ”Eep?”

”Luring them all away isn’t realistic, but as long as it can help share some of the burden...” Xu Ying hadn’t finished her sentence before a significant change occurred around them!

Countless turrets suddenly fired, blasting towards the half-opened World Tree root wall!

”Boom boom boom boom boom boom boom!!”

Compared to the brilliance of the crimson crystal, the firelight seemed insignificant, but the deafening sound echoed continuously in this football field-sized enclosed space, making everyone’s heads buzz.

At the same time, shells flew overhead, aiming for the half-opened wall.

The turrets near the wall fired directly at it, while those separated by the crimson crystal shot like mortars, sending shells in parabolic arcs through the air!

For a moment, the airspace in the entire underground area was filled with rapidly flying shells heading towards the wall!

”Boom boom boom boom boom boom boom!!!!”

The roar was incessant.

Under the crimson crystal, the three working alien invaders stopped in their tracks, trembling with fear.

It seemed this sudden scene had frightened them considerably.

At that moment, Xu Xin’s arm was grabbed.

It was Li Wenxi.

She shouted something at Xu Xin urgently, her face showing anxiety, but the surrounding roar drowned her voice out, while she pointed in the opposite direction of the bombardment.

Xu Xin couldn’t hear a thing and could only look towards the direction she was pointing.

Then his eyes widened.

In that direction, the wall made up of World Tree roots was also slowly loosening!

Is there another room over there?!

What could be inside?

By this time, the roar from the shells began to thin out a lot.

Because the small space where the monster was had been attacked numerous times, thick smoke engulfed the entrance, and through the smoke, Xu Xin and the group could vaguely see the tattered World Tree roots around the entrance.

But in the blink of an eye, a second after the shelling stopped, the damaged World Tree roots were fully restored.

Xu Xin looked back and saw another tunnel had appeared.

Under the glaring light of the crimson crystal, everything inside the tunnel was exposed.

The items in the tunnel reflected a metallic sheen, seemingly another massive machine.

...The same thing?

No...

This machine... does it feel active?

”Holy crap! Is that thing really that strong!”

Wang Lei’s voice drew Xu Xin’s gaze back to this side.

The smoke at the entrance had mostly cleared, and everyone could now see clearly into the tunnel.

The monster stood at the entrance, unscathed.

Its eyes were still wide open, and its mouth cracked all the way to the back of its head, looking like an alien about to emerge from the smoke, with an overwhelming presence.

It walked out of the entrance.

The turrets stopped firing, probably because those controlling them felt that their power was ineffective against the monster.

”Behind us...!”

Li Wenxi’s voice rang out.

Everyone instinctively turned to look back.

Inside the fully opened tunnel at the rear, over a dozen... pitch-black pipes extended?

Soon after, dense streams of crimson smoke were released from the pipes!

”Isn’t that the Red Mist!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed in surprise.

She was very familiar with it!

She once had an addiction to the Red Mist.

Meanwhile, from the World Tree core entrance above, continuous ”snap” sounds could be heard.

Looking up again, the entrance had already vanished.

It was sealed!

Everyone’s expressions changed dramatically.

Are they trying to shroud this place in Red Mist!

”Don’t be afraid.” Xu Ying spoke up to calm everyone down.

”Exposure to the red glow and inhaling the Red Mist simultaneously would indeed accelerate mutation and cause direct control, even the alien invaders might not be an exception. But we not only have protective membranes on us, we’ve also all received gene injections, so this method won’t affect us.”

Meanwhile, she glanced at the monster at the entrance.

”I wonder what it plans to do.”
