Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1370 - 688: Took Down Another 2?

”I didn’t go directly down, but stopped at the exit position,” Xu Ying said, ”because... right below that exit is the scarlet crystal.”

Below the world tree core channel exit, less than ten meters down, lies the gigantic scarlet crystal.

The scarlet crystal is large, indeed as the monster described, about the size of a three or four-story treehouse. Although it looks relatively smooth overall, there are a few spots that are rugged, and its shape is not regular.

One noticeable portion is concave, missing a large segment, and the whole area is marked by very uneven block-like cutting scars.

It’s clear that the missing area is caused by constant cutting over the past thousand years.

Simultaneously, Xu Ying saw two alien invaders manually cutting the scarlet crystal with some kind of tool at the damaged spot.

”You actually saw alien invaders cutting the crystal,” Xu Xin said in shock.

However, it seems quite normal to have Xu Ying encounter this.

Currently, the alien invaders are severely lacking in the already cut scarlet crystal, to the extent that they need to recruit new work members. The alien invaders originally responsible for this task naturally have to keep working.

”They are draped in a transparent membrane like a raincoat, using specialized cutting tools to cut the scarlet crystal.”

Xu Ying recalled this, then rubbed her temples wearily, ”Unfortunately, at the time I was being blinded by the near-intense glare of the scarlet crystal, and after observing for less than ten seconds, I felt my head was about to explode and quickly teleported back.”

She sighed, ”To be honest, if I hadn’t been in the core of the world tree, influenced by the world tree core, I probably wouldn’t have lasted even ten seconds. If only I could have seized those pieces of equipment from those alien invaders at the time.”

”Alas, we couldn’t really help at the time either,” Wen Guixin sighed, ”there’s a big problem now, while we’ve found the scarlet crystal, how to destroy it is still a problem, we can’t even approach it, being exposed to those rays for just a few seconds is very uncomfortable.”

Xu Xin, Li Wenxi, and the others exchanged glances and then smiled.

”Why are you all smiling?” Xu Ying felt a bit dissatisfied, then realized something, her eyes brightened slightly, ”Do you mean...?”

”Yes, we have quite a fruitful haul here,” Li Wenxi said with a smile, ”something we really needed.”

Xu Xin turned his wristband and took out those two resources.

Xu Ying immediately stood up with surprise, ”This is... exactly what we need! How did you get it?”

The others were also quite astonished.

Xu Xin briefly recounted their thrilling experience.

”... So that’s how it is.” Xu Ying murmured, unconsciously clenching her clothes with both hands, ”So, now we have... a plan to destroy the scarlet crystal?”

”Indeed,” Xu Xin nodded, ”this plan only uses our existing weapons.”

Xu Ying’s breathing slightly quickened for a moment, then she offered a slight bitter smile, ”Brother, you’re giving me hope...”

”It’s not about giving you hope, it’s just the truth,” Xu Xin said softly, ”We don’t necessarily have to use the weapons you brought.”

”Hmm? Does that mean Yingying doesn’t have to risk being erased from existence by using weapons from another timeline?” Wen Guixin asked with some surprise and delight.

”... This is just a plan,” Xu Ying took a deep breath, bit her lip and said, ”If the plan doesn’t succeed, my weapons can serve as a backup.”

”Understood,” Li Wenxi nodded, ”If the plan doesn’t succeed, considering weapons from another timeline wouldn’t be too late.”

”Now that the plan is in place, we shouldn’t waste time here.”

Time is precious.

No one knows how Ji Chaoyang and the others are doing over there, or how long they can hold on.

Hopefully, they can endure longer.

”It’s time to set off.”
