Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 699: Chapter 461: Re-entering Vine Bind, Shock! (4,300 words!) _2

She quickly retreated and shook her head vigorously: ”No, no, these giant beasts might not be looking at me now, but if I go out, I’ll still be noticed.”

Xu Xin tried as well.

Just like Lou Fei’Er, he was immediately spotted by the surrounding giant beasts, and quickly retreated back into the protection zone.

It seems that they indeed can’t get out.

He furrowed his brows and started to think.

The situation of the other four might not be that dangerous.

First is Wen Guixin, she must be outside the extremely dangerous area, after all, she opened the last prison cell.

Next is Wang Lei. Since he fired a signal flare, it’s highly likely that he’s still waiting in place for them to come help him.

Then there’s Zhao Xiaochuan, even if he is in the area, it doesn’t matter; his abilities can ensure his safety.

Lastly, Ji Chaoyang; he is the person Xu Xin worries about the least, although there’s no particular reason, Xu Xin isn’t too worried about him getting into trouble. Also, after opening the branch prisons, his premonitions have refreshed; perhaps he can see something as well.

Thinking this way, Xu Xin’s worries diminished significantly.

He glanced at the underground location where Chang Yin and Xue Lan were.

These two probably haven’t noticed the changes outside, after all, they are more than a dozen meters deep underground.

Moreover, the nearby giant beasts were already slaughtering each other, getting even wilder now doesn’t count as a major change, it’s quite normal not to notice.

Let this long-separated couple chat for a while.

Meanwhile, he should do what he can.

”Let’s go, let’s enter the main vine and see.” Xu Xin turned to look at the main vine and said to Lou Fei’Er.

”Ah? Oh, okay.” Lou Fei’Er was stunned at first, then her eyes lit up, ”That’s right, now that all six underground prisons are open, the main vine’s passage should be accessible, right? Can we go back?”

”Let’s check it out first. Keke, lead the way, I don’t want to fall in.”

”Eee!”

Keke jumped out of Xu Xin’s arms and started to lead the way.

”So you didn’t fall in because of Keke.” Lou Fei’Er looked at Keke leading them directly around, showing a look of realization and laughed, ”You aren’t much better than us, my master.”

”Keke is also part of my abilities, isn’t it, Keke?”

”Eee!”

”Keke, how about you follow me? I’ll let you eat delicious food!” Lou Fei’Er joked to Keke who was leading the way in front.

”Eee? Eee!” Keke glanced back, shook its little head, and continued leading the way.

”...Trying to poach right in front of me?” Xu Xin raised his left hand, on which was the bracelet that scared Lou Fei’Er, ”Do you want to be confined again?”

Lou Fei’Er looked at the bracelet, immediately shrunk back her head in fear, slowing down a few steps behind Xu Xin: ”I was just kidding...”

”Me too.”

”Your joke is way too frightening!”

She still had a significant shadow from the bracelet.

Soon, they were led by Keke to the vine bundle, arriving at the gap that allows for a single person to pass.

”Eee...” Keke stood in front of the gap, tilted its little head, but didn’t go inside.

Then, it climbed back onto Xu Xin’s shoulder.

”What’s wrong, Keke, is there danger ahead?” Xu Xin looked inside, but the twisted vine walls blocked his view.

If there was no danger, it would probably have gone in by itself already.

”Eee... Eee!” Keke nodded its little head.

Xu Xin squinted his eyes.

Although he had walked through this gap once, the situation had now changed; the six branch vine bundles had withdrawn, so the internal structure might have changed as well.

He had always felt it strange that such a thick vine bundle had such a narrow hollow inside.

It seems that the internal structure has changed now.

”Did you enter from here? I’ll go first.” Lou Fei’Er stepped forward, ”Let me explore.”

”Be careful.” Xu Xin did not refuse.

Lou Fei’Er was much faster than him and had an extra life, making her more suitable to explore.

Lou Fei’Er immediately slid inside: ”You stay outside for now, I’ll try to walk around in here first.”

Before Xu Xin could say anything, she disappeared inside, out of sight.

”...” Xu Xin shook his head helplessly.

Fortunately, he had enhanced hearing, able to hear Lou Fei’Er inside, the sound of her armor rubbing against the vine walls, confirming her position.

The sound grew quieter; she kept advancing deeper inside.

It seems there should be no danger along this path.

”Let’s go in too.”

”Eee!”

Xu Xin also entered the gap.

This path was similar to before, the passage was very narrow, the walls on both sides and above, also formed by the chaotic assembly of arm-thick vines.

However, after walking inwards for about ten meters, Xu Xin noticed unexpectedly that the internal vines seemed more vibrant than when he last entered.

Compared to the previous dark green, the vines now looked more like tender green.

Like the young shoots sprouting in spring.

The difference was especially noticeable.

It seems the inside has changed.

”Eee...” Keke nudged Xu Xin’s face.

”There’s danger ahead?”

”Eee!”

Xu Xin did not stop walking.

”Oh? Hiss...”
