Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 697: Chapter 460: All Vines Collected, A Complete Mess! (5400 Words)_3

Xu Xin adjusted his wristband and smiled, ”Don’t worry, I’ve brought her back.”

He didn’t mention Xue Lan’s name.

He knew it was best not to reveal certain things here.

Chang Yin also warned that this place might be under surveillance.

The thoughts of those giant beasts had just sounded the alarm for him.

This area is indeed influenced by mysterious forces.

It’s better not to conspire here.

”Really?!” Chang Yin immediately showed an expression of ecstatic joy, his voice raised instantly, then he quickly covered his mouth, but his eyes still flickered with red light.

He calmed himself a bit, then stomped on the ground.

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble, and a room-sized square stone slowly rose in front of Xu Xin.

Just like before, Chang Yin slapped the stone, and a door immediately cracked open on its surface.

...this location seems different from last time?

Goodness! How many holes has Chang Yin dug under the main vine bundle?

Chang Yin pushed open the door and nodded at Xu Xin.

”Squeak!” Keke jumped out of his arms and ran straight inside.

Judging by its behavior, it seemed to feel more at ease inside the stone door.

Inside was much the same as last time, with Chang Yin leading Xu Xin to the small room at the bottom. He immediately turned sharply to look at him.

”Xu Xin, Xue Lan she...”

Without needing him to say more, Xu Xin rotated his wristband and released Xue Lan.

”Chang Yin!” As soon as Xue Lan came out, she saw Chang Yin and immediately rushed over.

The two stone statues collided and embraced, producing a sound of impact.

”I... I thought you...” She was already choking with sobs.

”You two, though it’s not good to interrupt your reunion, I still have to say I must go,” Xu Xin said.

”Ah, right! Your companion fired a signal flare!” Chang Yin immediately separated from Xue Lan, his eyes flashing with red light, ”Could it be Xiaohong?”

”Xiaohong?!” Xue Lan exclaimed, immediately excited, ”Have you found Xiaohong?”

”Not sure.” Xu Xin shook his head, sharing his guess.

Chang Yin also calmed down, nodded with a serious expression, ”You make sense. Since your companion is in crisis, you should go quickly and check.”

”Could Xiaohong be over there too?” Xue Lan urged, ”Bring us along.”

”Impossible.” Xu Xin and Chang Yin refused together.

”I cannot leave here, otherwise... even if you go over, it would be of no use. Leave this matter to Xu Xin and his companions, they’re more reliable than us two survivors here,” Chang Yin stated.

”I... alright.” Xue Lan nodded but still wore an expression of concern on her face.

In the wristband, she had heard Lou Fei’Er narrate the situation regarding Xiaohong and knew Xiaohong’s current situation was uncertain.

”Leave it to me. If Xiaohong is indeed there, I’ll bring him back,” Xu Xin promised.

”It’s up to you then, Brother Xu Xin!” Chang Yin tightly shook Xu Xin’s hand.

”Okay, I’m leaving.”

Xu Xin took Keke and walked out of the underground hideout.

As soon as he exited, the ground began to tremble slightly again.

Looking back, the square stone block was slowly sinking back underground.

The door actually hid away, which was truly discreet.

Xu Xin thought for a moment, rotated the wristband, and released Lou Fei’Er.

He planned to let Lou Fei’Er wait here, as others might return after he leaves, needing someone to receive them.

Lou Fei’Er, at this time, was sitting on the ground, looking as if she was leaning against something, and immediately fell backward as soon as she was released.

Fortunately, she reacted quickly, flipping herself into a standing position.

”Huh? We’re already by the main vine again?” She looked around, somewhat surprised, ”So fast! Only... two hours passed? Wait, what about those branch vine bundles? How come... ah! There!”

Before Xu Xin could speak, she pointed in surprise at the direction of the last remaining vine bundle.

Xu Xin turned to look.

Only to see that the last remaining vine bundle was being pulled from the ground at this moment!

Wen Guixin succeeded in opening the second branch prison!

”This... the vine bundle is retracting!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed in shock.

The vine bundle was swiftly retracting upward, and in less than ten seconds, it completely withdrew into the gap right above their heads.

And at that instant, the brightness of the light released from the gap suddenly increased dramatically, even making Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er, who were looking up at the gap, cover their eyes as if hit by a flashbang!

”So bright!” Lou Fei’Er momentarily couldn’t see anything, extending both hands to grasp Xu Xin’s arm.

”Squeak!” Even Keke immediately closed its eyes, burying its head into Xu Xin’s embrace.

For about three to four seconds, they were blind, surrounded by a white void.

”No need to panic, there is no danger around.” Xu Xin calmly reassured.

His enhanced hearing and mind-reading allowed him to perfectly discern the movements of the surrounding giant beasts.

They were dazzled too!

Gradually, he finally was able to see clearly again, his vision returned to normal.

Rubbing his eyes, he looked around.

Now, in the entire underground world, only this one thick main vine bundle remained, connecting the underground world to the sky.

This vine bundle seemed to support the whole underground world!

Yet Xu Xin showed a troubled expression.

Because...

The surrounding area of the main vine was brighter than high noon!

Too bright!

They were now almost completely exposed under high-powered searchlights, still struggling to keep their eyes open.

And the surrounding giant beasts became even more frenzied!

”Kill! Kill!”

”Die!”

The roars and their inner voices crazily filled his ears.

Around them, the giant beasts were not just fighting in pairs anymore; they were completely clashing in a chaotic melee!

And Xu Xin noticed, further away, those beasts that weren’t frenzied before had also started fighting by now!

The scope of chaos among the beasts expanded!

Was it caused by the shining white light from the gap?

The closer the beasts were to the main vine bundle, the more frenzied they became, as the light affected them more!

Wait a moment...

This shining white light, it’s the color of the treehouse core and energy core fragments!

And these beasts conveniently share bloodlines with the giants...

Could it be... this white light from the gap is related to the giants?!

Is it the giants’ power?

Or...

Has the Blood Pattern Race controlled the giants’ power?!

What’s the truth!

Nonetheless, luckily the protective perimeter around the vine bundle still existed, at least those beasts still dared not enter this range to attack them.

Xu Xin looked into the distance, his expression troubled.

Originally, only the beasts within a kilometer were in chaos; now this range expanded several times.

The danger zone... grew larger!

And the beasts became even more dangerous!

”These beasts... have gone mad!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed in terror.

Xu Xin’s expression was grim.

The beasts were now attacking indiscriminately!

They wouldn’t even spare insects!

He’s quite certain now that even if he were alone, stepping out of this safe zone, the beasts would still launch an attack on him!

But now, besides him and Lou Fei’Er, the other four are still not back!

Possibly, someone among them is in this chaotic region right now!

And he himself still wanted to go out now!

Damn it!

What a mess!
