Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 680: Chapter 455 The Purpose of Chang Yin (5000-word Chapter)

”Wait a minute, do all of you have special abilities?” Chang Yin asked curiously from the side.

During the time he was trapped in the underground city, he had interacted with survivors from the previous four sessions but hadn’t heard about any survivor having special abilities.

”Ah, I don’t have any.” Lou Fei’Er raised her hand and said, ”I don’t have any special abilities.”

”Aren’t you able to make mutated creature pills?” Chang Yin looked at her, a bit surprised.

”It’s true... but that can’t be considered a special ability; it’s just an acquired skill.” Lou Fei’Er explained, ”It’s a skill gained during the activities.”

Xu Xin nodded.

Just like the artistic abilities of him and Ji Chaoyang, all were acquired later.

However, her acquired ability has an unknown source, and it might indeed be unique among survivors.

”However, now that Brother Chaoyang mentioned it, I feel my abilities have indeed strengthened!” Wang Lei spoke again, ”I’ve always felt this way, originally thinking it was just an illusion.”

”I don’t feel anything.” Wen Guixin looked at her own hand, ”Maybe it has strengthened too?”

Xu Xin started pondering slightly.

His special ability is the creator’s authority.

So far, the creator’s authority has awakened three times: first, the identification ability; second, the map ability; and third, the alchemy ability.

He didn’t feel his abilities had any enhancement.

Perhaps his abilities are rather special.

”In any case, after coming down, I saw a new prophecy, which led me to find Chang Yin.” Ji Chaoyang continued speaking.

”At that time, he was imprisoned underground about two kilometers from here.” He glanced at Chang Yin, ”You guys know what happened after that, because he was very familiar with the structure near the prison, which prevented me from falling into the prison.”

”I just want to know, what exactly did you discover in the prison?”

”Actually, I want to know too.” Chang Yin spoke, ”You... won’t have looted the warehouse, right?”

Xu Xin and the other five exchanged glances and then couldn’t help but laugh.

”In your warehouse, besides those giant beast statues, there should... only be cabinets left, right?” Wen Guixin held back a laugh and said.

”Huh?” Chang Yin’s stone-like eyes slowly widened, and he turned to look at Xu Xin.

”Uh...” Xu Xin turned his bracelet somewhat sheepishly, ”Actually...”

He briefly described their experiences inside.

”We took all the stuff inside the warehouse.” Xu Xin touched his nose and said.

”...You took that whole pile of stuff away?!” Chang Yin looked completely dumbfounded, ”You guys...”

”Let’s not talk about this for now.” Xu Xin immediately changed the subject.

He certainly didn’t want to return those things.

”I want to ask, how did you know about those things you just said? And, having told us so much, shouldn’t you...”

He looked at Chang Yin, ”You must want us to do something for you, right?”

If it weren’t for that, even though he and Chang Yin had that previous relationship, there was no need for him to tell us those things.

”Indeed.” Chang Yin nodded and then glanced towards the passage outside the room, as if worried someone might be eavesdropping, appearing somewhat cautious.

After confirming no one was there, he continued speaking.

”All these things, I learned while working underground here.” Chang Yin said in a serious tone.

”Learned?” Ji Chaoyang asked doubtfully, ”Who did you learn from? Those fur-covered creatures? Can they communicate? On the surface, I’ve come across several fur people and even tried to communicate with one, but they seemed completely unable to communicate.”

Oh?

Xu Xin couldn’t help but look at Ji Chaoyang again.

When he’s on the surface, he tends to venture out and often is uncontactable.

Unexpectedly, he’s even discovered several fur people?

Are there really many fur people on the surface now? Able to encounter several?

Speaking of which, Keke has also been acting startled on the surface recently, is it because of the fur people?

”Fur people?”

Chang Yin was first surprised, then came to a realization.

”Oh, you mean those furry monkeys. They’re mutated humans, you should know, right? Yes, indeed...” he nodded and then shook his head, ”Not all monkeys are unable to speak.”

”During this time, I have interacted with about fifty such... hmm, fur people, and most of them only make sharp cries, as if after mutating, they lost the ability to speak.”

”But there are still a few who haven’t lost the ability to speak and can communicate normally.”

Saying this, Chang Yin glanced at Lou Fei’Er.

”Hm? Why are you looking at me?” Lou Fei’Er blinked, feeling a bit puzzled, ”Aren’t we talking about fur people? I’m not covered in fur, the types of mutations are different, being able to speak is quite normal, right?”

”No, those communicating fur people are indeed somewhat similar to you.” Chang Yin explained, now accustomed to the term ”fur people,” ”Those mutated humans, compared to regular fur people, have much shorter and sparser hair, and the hair on their faces is almost completely gone, able to fully reveal their faces.”
