Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 660: Chapter 447: Riot in the Prison

”Brother Xin, come quickly, we’ve discovered a key!”

A key!

Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er exchanged a glance.

He immediately walked out and asked, ”Where did you find it?”

”It was right on the control console in the middle of the control room, a bright big key.” Zhao Xiaochuan said, ”Brother Xin, go up and take a look, the description of the key is baffling, you need to check it out.”

”Alright. Let’s go up.”

”Do I still need to keep watch here?” Lou Fei’Er leaned against the door frame, glanced at the twenty open cells inside, and asked.

”No need.” Xu Xin shook his head, ”Since there’s a discovery, it means...”

It means that person genuinely wants to help them.

Could it be... really Chang Yin?

But if it was Chang Yin, why not pass a message to him, and instead contact someone totally unfamiliar like Lou Fei’Er?

If he had gotten a message, he would surely recognize his voice at once.

Or maybe his suspicion was wrong.

This voice wasn’t Chang Yin at all?

”Let’s hurry up and go!” Zhao Xiaochuan urged when he saw Xu Xin slightly lost in thought.

”Alright.”

The three of them quickly left and swiftly ascended to the top layer of the underground prison, returning to the control room.

At this moment, only Wen Guixin was in the control room, holding the key, frowning in thought.

The key was much larger than a normal key, almost as big as a palm.

And in Xu Xin’s eyes, the key radiated golden light.

Goodness, it was a gold-grade key!

”You’re back.” She saw them and immediately placed the key on the control console in front of her, ”Xu Xin, check out this key.”

She couldn’t hand the key directly to Xu Xin, otherwise, there would probably be problems.

Her toxins could spread through various means.

No choice, she could only put the key on the control console for him to take himself.

”Where’s Wang Lei? Why are you the only one here?” Xu Xin walked over and asked.

”He grabbed the key and saw the description, then suddenly slapped his forehead, said he figured something out, threw the key to me, and dashed out.” Wen Guixin said, a bit helpless, ”Maybe he thought of some important clues? I called after him but he didn’t stop, so I had to wait for you to come back by myself.”

Ran out on his own?

This guy is quite...

”So this is the control, huh...” Lou Fei’Er’s eyes brightened immediately upon entering the control room, looking around.

”You’re not allowed to touch anything.” Xu Xin approached the console, picked up the key, and simultaneously warned Lou Fei’Er.

”Relax, I’m not that silly.” Lou Fei’Er said while walking to the screen, wanting to reach out and touch it.

”The screen’s off limits too!” Xu Xin stopped her before he could examine the description, ”Do you want to experience that giant beast’s roar again?”

”Huh? Giant beast’s roar?” Lou Fei’Er withdrew her hand immediately, ”What’s going on? Can this screen affect that big soft creature down there?”

Xu Xin began to closely examine the key in his hand.

[Warehouse Key (Gold): A key that can open the underground prison’s warehouse. Inside the warehouse, clues are hidden to escape the underground prison. The warehouse location is similar to the mechanism control room’s position.]

Warehouse?

It even contains clues to escape the underground prison!

Plus, this warehouse location...

”Was the key placed on the table when you first walked in?” Lou Fei’Er approached and inquired.

The voice echoed in her mind, naturally making her very curious.

”That’s right, when we came in, it was directly placed on the control console.” Wen Guixin nodded, ”There’s no doubt that someone visited the control room after we left and put the key on the console.”

”I suspect it’s the surviving administrator,” Zhao Xiaochuan spoke out his hypothesis at this moment, ”Perhaps the surviving prison administrator wants us to hurry out and gave us a hint.”

”Administrator, you mean those furry monsters?” Lou Fei’Er frowned, ”Probably... not, right? The furry monsters’ voices are awful sounding and very sharp, but the voice in my mind has a pleasant magnetic quality.”

”Is that so...”

”Besides, if he’s the administrator, controlling the prison to deal with us should be easy, there’s no need to make it so complicated.” Lou Fei’Er said as she touched several button-laden devices.

Of course, she definitely wouldn’t dare press them.

”By the way, aren’t we completely clueless about how to use these consoles?” she turned and asked.

”Exactly, that’s the biggest issue right now.” Zhao Xiaochuan sighed, ”We have a control room but don’t know how to use it, and we’re afraid of causing problems by randomly pressing buttons.”

No one dared touch those buttons heedlessly.

”At least, it’s a solution sort of.” Wen Guixin said helplessly, ”If there’s really no way, we might just have to try pressing these buttons aimlessly. Fortunately, we have a key now, and we can start by focusing on the key.”

Wen Guixin turned her head to look at Xu Xin and saw that his eyebrows were slightly relaxed, giving the impression that he had thought of something. She immediately asked, ”In your introduction, what can you see? Our introduction only said that this key is a warehouse key and a clue to escape the prison. As for where the warehouse is, it doesn’t say. In your case, you should be able to see more, right?”

Xu Xin nodded and told everyone about the extra clue he had.

[The warehouse location is situated below the prison, similar to the location of the mechanism control room.]

”...I totally don’t understand,” Lou Fei’Er whispered.

”Similar to the location of the mechanism control room?” Wen Guixin pondered for a bit, then her eyes lit up, ”I think I might know where this warehouse is!”

Zhao Xiaochuan also appeared to be deep in thought.

Xu Xin nodded, also having a general idea of where the mechanism control room was.

Inferring from the similarity to the location of the mechanism control room is actually quite simple.

This warehouse is probably hidden in one of the cells.

The main door of this warehouse is likely the hidden door on the wall inside the cell!

”However, if it’s the hidden door inside the cell...” Xu Xin frowned again.

How to open it?

Won’t it still need to operate the control panel?

Forget it, let’s go out and have a look first.

”The location of the warehouse...” Xu Xin shared his guess.

”That should be it!” Zhao Xiaochuan immediately nodded in agreement.

”The same as my guess!” Wen Guixin was a bit impatient, looking at the corridor outside, ”Then let’s quickly find the warehouse, let’s go out and have a look! What on earth is Wang Lei doing running out by himself?”

”Huh? What do you mean? I still don’t get it...” Lou Fei’Er looked puzzled.

After all, she had just entered the underground prison and had not yet explored it, not knowing its structure.

”Let’s go. Once you see it, you’ll understand.” Xu Xin patted the back of the sleeping Keke in his arms and said to the bewildered Lou Fei’Er.

”Oh, okay.” She nodded and immediately followed behind Xu Xin, walking outside together.

As soon as she stepped out of the control room, the surrounding was filled with countless insect chirps and beast roars!

This made everyone furrow their eyebrows tightly.

Especially Xu Xin.

The chaotic and shrill insect chirps made it extremely uncomfortable for him, with his amplified hearing!

”So many bugs!” Lou Fei’Er’s expression immediately changed, placing her hand on the dagger at her waist.

She looked at the crazed insects still moving wildly in the prison and felt an itch to kill them all.

That giant tiger did indeed cause her a lot of psychological pressure, but in terms of bodily harm, it was not as bad as these insects!

The tiger only gave her a slap, but these insects were everywhere.

On her way here, she was attacked crazily by these insects, some even charged directly at her.

If it were a sharp weapon attack, it would be fine, but these giant insects couldn’t penetrate her purple-level steel armor.

But the collisions were unbearable, especially high-speed crashes, which almost displaced her internal organs!

She directly sustained internal injuries!

Moreover, she didn’t dare to waste time resisting; after being knocked flying, she could only crawl back up and keep running.

To maintain her peak running speed, she had to consume two healing medicines on her escape route!

If it weren’t for Qi Xuefei’s medicine, she might not have even made it past this part of the route and could have been overwhelmed by the insect swarm!

Once the insects inside the prison saw her, they all became agitated.

While emitting ear-piercing chirping, they began crashing madly against the cell bars!

This swarm of insects started rioting again!

And this time, it was much more intense than any insect riots Xu Xin had experienced before!

Xu Xin could already smell the nauseating taste of insect blood and the fresh blood of beasts in the air!

These creatures were recklessly crashing!

”...I can now imagine what you’ve been through on your way here.” Wen Guixin looked at the insects and beasts suddenly rioting and said sympathetically to Lou Fei’Er, ”You really can drive them crazy.”

”Isn’t that true? On this road, compared to that last tiger, these insects have caused more cumulative damage to my body.”

Lou Fei’Er saw that the insects couldn’t break out of the prison and breathed a sigh of relief, releasing her grip on the dagger.

They walked downwards.

”This is just too crazy!”

Zhao Xiaochuan looked at the madly burrowing insects in the cell with awe, ”Don’t these insects care about their lives?”

The insects in the cells were still crashing against the bars and emitting shrill chirping towards Lou Fei’Er.

However, even the purple-level steel weapons couldn’t damage the bars in the slightest; naturally, these insects couldn’t break through them.

They were even head-butting, bleeding yellow, blue, and white fluids seeping from the cracks in their fractured shells, yet they hadn’t broken out of the prison.
