Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 647: Chapter 438: Encounter in the Underground Prison_2

...Indeed.

Everyone among the explorers knows about Wen Guixin’s ability; it’s impossible to touch her body.

”And then?” Xu Xin asked.

”And then? And then those people just fell.” Wen Guixin spread her hands, showing a somewhat innocent expression, ”It’s not my fault, they were the ones who casually touched me. Later, my consciousness became even more blurred, and I couldn’t even barely open my eyes. I just felt my body being lifted onto something, swaying back and forth, must have been moving, and then heard the sound of a prison door opening and closing. By the time I regained consciousness, I was already lying here on this bed.”

Wen Guixin and Zhao Xiaochuan were actually moved here by someone?

However... she managed to take down a few people even while her consciousness was blurred?

No wonder she’s the ”Empress”; no one can touch her body.

But this situation doesn’t significantly help their current predicament.

After all, Xu Xin still can’t find a way to get the two of them out.

The two sides are like symmetrical dungeons; where would there be any mechanisms to trigger?

But Xu Xin knows there must be an exit here.

After all, his entrance is already blocked; if he can’t find an exit, he’ll be stuck here too.

”So, your backpack can’t be used either?” Xu Xin asked.

”Yeah, I can’t take anything out, not even a weapon.” Wen Guixin sighed.

Her weapon was at that time Xu Xin crafted the purple-grade scythe, and it couldn’t just hang like Zhao Xiaochuan’s dagger, so now she really doesn’t have a weapon.

Xu Xin, just like with Zhao Xiaochuan, gave her some water and food, then tossed her a purple-grade dagger: ”Hold onto this for now; you’ll need a weapon to protect yourself.”

”A dagger, huh.” Wen Guixin took the dagger and spun it in her hand, almost dazzling Xu Xin, ”I’m not very good at using daggers.”

Xu Xin: ”...”

Not very good and still spun it so skillfully?

”Wait here for now, I’ll look around to see if there’s any mechanism or exit.” He shook his head and continued searching for exits and mechanisms.

”Counting on you, Xu Xin.”

Xu Xin first double-checked the surroundings again after confirming there are indeed no other mechanisms, he felt somewhat troubled.

What’s the situation here?

Because he’s reached the end, he had no choice but to turn back.

As he walked, he carefully observed the surroundings of these prison cells.

However, all these prisons are completely connected, separated only by a few centimeters of metal wall, with no place capable of opening the cells.

Moreover, these prison cells don’t even have doors, just rows of neat metal bars.

He couldn’t even imagine how these cells could be opened.

Continuing forward, he soon reached the place where he initially descended, losing his direction.

Everywhere he’s walked so far has only been prison cells without any discoveries.

Now, he’s inspected both sides and even thoroughly examined the path, yet found nothing.

”Keke, is there no mechanism on our way here?” Xu Xin grabbed Keke’s big tail and asked.

”Ying.” Keke shook its head, indicating it didn’t feel anything.

...This is quite a dilemma.

He looked up at the ceiling, noticing the entrance had long been sealed.

Applying a bit of force to his feet, he effortlessly leaped five or six meters high, reaching out to touch the ceiling.

But nothing happened, causing him to drop back down again.

With no other choice, he planned to walk once more through this underground prison sealed on both sides to see if he could find anything.

Just then, a ”click” sound suddenly reached his ears.

Hmm?

Xu Xin’s eyelid twitched.

Next came the sound of metal grinding.

This mechanical sound, mixed with the surrounding insect chirping, was extremely jarring.

The source of the sound was very close, just a few dozen meters ahead!

He immediately ran forward.

”...What kind of place is this...”

This time, he even heard a voice!

Isn’t this Wang Lei’s voice?!

He quickened his pace.

When he and Wang Lei faced each other through the iron bars, both were stunned.

”Ying!”

”Whoa, Brother Xin!”

”How did you... come out from there?” Xu Xin looked at him in disbelief.

This is an empty cage, and it’s the first empty cage from the start after descending from the entrance.

The other cells are filled with bugs.

Coincidently, he had touched the bars of this cage, gaining the description prompt for it.

Now, Wang Lei is inside this cage, and...

The metal wall behind the prison has opened up a door!

Wang Lei had walked out from this very door!

”I... Ah, hang on Brother Xin, this cage should be able to open!” Wang Lei drilled through the door, and five seconds later, the metal bars of this cage emitted a ”click” sound.

Then, the metal bars of the prison ascended, pulled out of the metal surface, leaving behind a row of noticeable holes.

”Ying!” Keke exclaimed in surprise.

The metal bars retracted quickly, taking only two seconds to gather at the top.

The surrounding bugs quieted down significantly after hearing this sound, then went completely silent.

They seemed very afraid of the door being opened?

Wang Lei poked his head out from the door: ”Brother Xin, come in and see!”

Keke directly jumped out of his arms and went through the door.

Xu Xin immediately entered as well.

Inside the door was a room filled with mechanical ambiance.

The room wasn’t large, maybe thirty to forty square meters, but it was filled with high-tech equipment. The equipment had a dazzling array of buttons.

And on one of the walls, there was a screen similar to the one in the tree house!

Circling a piece of sophisticated equipment, he was instantly shocked by several dry corpses lying scattered on the ground.

These corpses were covered in brown fuzz but had human-like limbs, clearly...

Fuzzy freaks!

This room must be where these fuzzy freaks manage the cells?

Combined with Wang Lei’s operation to open prison doors...

It seems the switches for all the cell doors are probably here?

”Is this Sister Gui Xin’s handiwork?” Wang Lei glanced at the fuzzy freaks on the ground, familiar with the sight, ”This corpse’s appearance is clearly caused by her ability.”

Indeed...

These must be the ”shadowy figures” who touched Wen Guixin?

Xu Xin quickly stepped forward, picking up Keke, who was curiously examining the corpses of the fuzzy freaks.

”Ying!”

”Don’t worry, Brother Xin. Once they die, the toxin loses its effect.” Wang Lei assured him, ”This little guy is safe to touch them.”

”I see.” Xu Xin placed Keke on his shoulder, turning to Wang Lei, ”So, how exactly did you get into this room?”
