Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 620: Chapter 423: A New Day, 4 Pillars of Light Rise! (5,000-Word Chapter)

Sitting on the sofa, he was so drowsy he almost fell asleep.

At this moment, the sound of a teleportation portal forming came from outside the treehouse.

A few seconds later, Li Wenxi entered the treehouse.

”You’re here.” Xu Xin lay on the sofa, not really wanting to move, and turned his head to look at her.

”...It’s still more comfortable here!” Li Wenxi sat down on the sofa, picked up Keke, and petted her, ”It must be because of this little one. I always feel something’s missing in my own treehouse now.”

Probably because she trusted Li Wenxi, Keke just nuzzled her little head against her chest and let out a small ”Ying...” without opening her eyes, then continued sleeping.

”Hmm, are you done for the day...? How was today’s harvest?” Xu Xin felt his eyelids twitching. As his body relaxed, he turned to the side and lay down on her legs.

Li Wenxi must have taken a bath before coming, as she smelled fragrant.

”Not too bad. Without me there, their harvest really wasn’t much, even less than when I was mining alone. Today, they only managed to get under forty pieces of blue-grade iron ore.”

Without her presence, there was no hundredfold explosion rate; others relied entirely on the special pickaxes in their hands for mining enhancement.

The efficiency was, indeed, a lot lower.

”But it should be fine tomorrow when I go with them. I might soon have them come to your place to mine.”

”Come to my place?”

”Yep, the mining sites near my treehouse are mostly exhausted,” Li Wenxi explained, ”The demand for iron ore is huge. Once this site is depleted, the next site is five kilometers away from the treehouse. I’ve scouted a mining point near you before, only about a kilometer away. Might as well let them come here to collect.”

”Hmm, should I give your Aniu a teleportation bracelet then?”

”Of course, Aniu is so strong now!” Speaking of Aniu, Li Wenxi looked slightly excited, ”Whenever I have time, I let it sit in the Red Mist room. Its load capacity is now incredibly high. With my purple-grade backpack, it can transport even a day’s worth of everyone’s load in one trip!”

”And moreover, the blood markings on its body are getting deeper in color, feels like it’s about to upgrade to mid-level!”

That’s pretty good.

”I’ve got quite a few contracts left in my hand. Want me to contract another one for you?” Xu Xin asked.

”Hmm, there’s no need for now.” Li Wenxi pouted slightly, ”But it wouldn’t hurt to have a few more when there’s a chance. Who knows if these beasts would disappear again someday. Besides, Aniu could use a companion.”

”Hmm...” Xu Xin, resting on her legs, was about to fall asleep, ”I’ll give you at that time...”

So sleepy, seems like I’ve stayed too long beside the sleeping Keke.

”Huh? Asleep... fell asleep? I can’t move you... Hmm, maybe I could... move you?”

...

The next day when he woke up, it was six in the morning.

Outside, it was already nighttime.

Last night, under Keke’s influence, he seemed to have fallen asleep on the sofa?

This little one’s influence is indeed getting stronger.

However, although he fell asleep on the sofa, now he found himself lying on the bed, and his clothes were off.

Li Wenxi lay beside him, not yet awake.

Keke was also lying at the head of the bed, soundly sleeping.

Xu Xin gently touched Keke’s little head, sat up from the bed, and stretched.

[Detected that the decoration level of the treehouse is greater than 500, gaining today’s random enhancement: hearing enhancement, effect lasts for one day. Also, you can choose a second enhancement from the history enhancements.]

In an instant, countless sounds poured into his ears.

Yet Xu Xin seemed thoughtful.

Hearing enhancement?

Hasn’t this enhancement been given before?

Could it be that all types of random enhancements have been randomized for him?

Or, was today another random occurrence of a previous enhancement?

Or perhaps...

His current decoration level wasn’t enough to give him new enhancements, and only by increasing the decoration level could he continue to get new enhancements?

He opened the [Random Enhancement] category and clicked on [History Enhancement].

The history enhancements could still be chosen, but...

Xu Xin noticed a small number 2 appeared after the hearing enhancement.

Hmm?

What does this mean?

He gently clicked the number 2.

A line of small text popped up.

[Number of random times hearing enhancement: 2 times. The more times a certain ability is randomly obtained, the stronger the ability becomes. Furthermore, when the random obtainment reaches twenty times, the survivor will permanently acquire this ability.]

”!!!”

Xu Xin’s eyes widened.

So this time’s hearing enhancement really does seem stronger than before.

Some previously faint sounds were now much clearer.

Next to him, in the faint heartbeats of the sleeping Li Wenxi, he could clearly catch her and Keke’s breathing sounds.

For example, outside, the wind sounds and the rustling of leaves on the treehouse now sounded more three-dimensional.

At the same time, he also heard a humming sound from Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse a hundred meters away, along with... a sound of something being roasted.

Lou Fei’Er was cooking.

She hadn’t closed her window, so the sound came through quite clearly to Xu Xin’s side.

On the other side, Jin Yue’s room also had some noises, but because her window was closed, Xu Xin could only tell she was already awake.
