Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 627: Chapter 427 The Survivors’ Gravity Mechanism

Lou Fei’Er entered the passage eagerly, ahead of Xu Xin.

It seemed like something below was really drawing her in.

Xu Xin also climbed down following the ladder.

”If anything happens, contact us; we’re waiting at the entrance.” Ji Chaoyang gestured at his watch and said.

Xu Xin nodded, then climbed in.

Lou Fei’Er had already descended over ten meters.

She was climbing rapidly.

”Slow down!” Xu Xin shouted.

Climbing so fast, if there’s any trap...

Or maybe she’s relying on having an extra life and isn’t afraid of dying?

An extra life sure is nice.

The voice traveled down the passage, reaching its depths.

”Yikes!” Keke was startled.

Xu Xin felt a little regret.

He shouldn’t have shouted; if there was something below, it wouldn’t be good.

”Oh, okay.” Lou Fei’Er immediately slowed down, waiting for Xu Xin to catch up, ”Hurry up, I feel like there’s something down there! Something that’s really attracting me! I think that thing might make me stronger!”

Oh?

Make her stronger?

Xu Xin’s eyes lit up slightly.

”Isn’t it the Red Mist?” he asked.

”No, it’s something else. The Red Mist here is too thin, it doesn’t have much effect on me.” Lou Fei’Er said while climbing down.

Something other than the Red Mist that could make mutant creatures stronger...

He thought of that radiation stone back then.

It was that stone that allowed Mimi and Silver King to advance to intermediate mutant creatures.

After that, it fulfilled its purpose and crumbled completely.

Could the thing below be one of those things?

”Keke, can you sense anything below?” Xu Xin asked Keke, who was lying on his shoulder.

”Yikes.” Keke shook his little head, indicating he couldn’t sense anything.

Back then, Keke also didn’t sense that radiation stone.

It was Xu Xin who had Afu, who lacked self-awareness at the time, fly and discover it.

Maybe it really is something good.

If they could find such a thing again, everyone and the beasts around him could benefit.

Both of them quickened their pace, climbing downward.

Lou Fei’Er wasn’t afraid of death, so she climbed extremely fast.

With her leading the way, Xu Xin didn’t need to be so cautious, quickly climbing down.

”This passage is really long.” After climbing for about ten minutes, Lou Fei’Er exclaimed, ”I thought we’d reach the bottom soon, but it’s surprisingly long!”

”Yikes!” Keke agreed.

”Back then, I didn’t know how long I crawled, but surely it was over an hour.” Reflecting on the past experience, Xu Xin could still feel the terror and fatigue he felt back then.

Climbing down was manageable, but climbing back up, chased by the Red Mist, was truly hair-raising.

But Lou Fei’Er probably isn’t afraid of such situations, right?

The Red Mist is a good thing for her, after all.

”Huh? Won’t we need to climb for over an hour too?” Lou Fei’Er paused, looking down, still unable to see the bottom.

”If it’s like last time, then no need. This time’s climbing is much faster than last.” Xu Xin said to Lou Fei’Er below, ”Why stop, continue.”

”Oh, okay. By the way, did Keke experience this last time too?”

”Yikes, yikes!”

They continued to climb down.

After climbing for another fifteen minutes, Xu Xin’s watch vibrated, and he stopped to check. It was a message from Ji Chaoyang.

There’s still a signal in the passage, not bad.

”What’s the situation below? Still climbing down?”

Xu Xin replied using voice while climbing: ”Yes, haven’t reached the bottom yet. However, this passage should be the same as last time, without any danger.”

”...Then how about we come down now? The other three are getting anxious.”

”We should soon...”

”Ah, I see the bottom!” Lou Fei’Er suddenly exclaimed with excitement, ”Just a few hundred meters away! We’re almost there!”

Xu Xin looked down too; indeed, not far below, he could see a metallic floor.

Below seemed to be an iron room, just like last time.

After climbing for so long, they finally reached the bottom!

From above, they also heard Lou Fei’Er’s voice, followed by exclamations from several people.

”We’ll quickly go down to check, wait for a few more minutes.”

”Okay.”

Ending the call, Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er continued climbing down quickly.

Soon, Lou Fei’Er stepped onto the iron floor first, walking forward a few steps, Xu Xin jumped down too.

As soon as he jumped down, Keke let out a ”Yikes” and jumped off his shoulder.

”Is this... an iron room?” Lou Fei’Er was somewhat surprised, ”An entirely iron room?”

Xu Xin had already anticipated it, so he wasn’t too surprised.

Such iron rooms, he had seen twice.

The first time was at the underground world’s entrance.

That room had a skeleton, with words of unknown meaning etched behind it, and an iron door that could be opened, through which he first saw the underground world.

The second time was at the giant’s skull.

In that room, they obtained information about the giant’s skull.

But here...

”What the heck...” Lou Fei’Er was a bit disappointed, ”There’s nothing here? Just a basement?”
