Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 624: Chapter 425: It’s time to go down and take a look

He continued walking towards the light pillar at the center of the array.

”Speaking of which, Mimi, your stamina must be pretty good now, right? Can you be ridden too?” Xu Xin touched his chin and looked at Mimi beside him.

”Meow?!” Mimi jumped three meters high, distancing itself several meters from Xu Xin, and looked at him cautiously.

”Alright, alright, just kidding.” Xu Xin waved his hand.

”Ying...?” Keke was lying on Xu Xin’s shoulder and turned its head to look at the jungle outside the giant pit.

Xu Xin didn’t notice and quickened his pace, arriving at the center of the array and directly stepped into the purple-black light pillar.

Mimi didn’t enter the light pillar but stayed around it to guard against potential issues from outside.

The purple-black light enveloped him.

His ears instantly became peaceful.

Outside, his enhanced hearing could pick up all kinds of sounds, but this light pillar could block out external noise.

Then, a map appeared before his eyes.

Just like before, it was still the complete map of Zone 188.

Other than the light dots representing two arrays connected by an arch-like three-dimensional light line, there seemed to be no change.

”Ying!” Keke extended its little paw, pointing to a position below the map.

He followed its paw and looked.

At the very bottom of the map, he saw an option.

[Establish External Relations]

This option.

Here it is.

He directly clicked it.

Immediately, a list popped up.

On this list, besides their own Zone 188, names from Jungle Zone 1 to Jungle Zone 200 were on it.

But only Jungle Zone 1’s name was lit up in white.

The other zones were divided into two colors.

One was zones with black names, the other with gray names.

Xu Xin glanced and understood.

Zones with black names represent zones where survivors exist but relations can’t yet be established.

Zones with gray names represent zones where all survivors have died, essentially non-existent zones.

And Zone 1 with a white name needs no explanation.

He clicked directly on Zone 1.

[Do you favor establishing relations with Zone 1?]

[Due to the two connected arrays having six activators, all activators must agree to establish relations with Zone 1. An individual activator has veto power, use it cautiously.]

[Support and opposition can be changed at any time.]

Well, this explanation is considerate.

Very clear.

Since it can be changed, he’s indifferent.

He directly chose to support.

Instantly, six names appeared in front of him.

His name lit up with a white light, while the others’ names were gray.

He then switched to oppose.

His name turned black again.

Alright, it’s just a simple voting mechanism.

All members need to pass before establishing contact with a zone.

There are six people on their side, requiring all six to agree.

But it’s indifferent since they are all explorers’ people, internal discussion is expected.

Compared to their side, Zone 1 seems much more convenient.

Because their two connected Transmission Arrays have only two true activators.

That means, only two people need to agree on their side.

However, it’s not an easy task. After all, one of them is from Zone 1’s strong organizational force.

And Shi Wanyun is a lone wolf.

She might clash with the other side.

Speaking of which, the introduction just now mentioned the [first two connected arrays]?

Does that mean only those who activated the first two arrays can choose to establish relations with external zones?

Hmm, it should be correct.

After all, there can only be thirty arrays activated across all zones.

Zones like their Zone 188, which can activate more than two arrays...

Possibly only them and Zone 1.

Zone 23 might be possible.

Other zones, basically, have no possibility.

Those zones can activate one array and consider it a blessing.

But this also presents a problem.

A large number of arrays might be directly wasted.

Though one is activated, the second cannot activate.

Unable to achieve transmission or establish relations with other zones.

This is indeed a bit frustrating.

”Hmm?”

At this moment, a prompt suddenly appeared in front of Xu Xin.

[Zone 1 has unanimously agreed to establish relations with Zone 188.]

Is this for real?

It’s directly passed?

So quickly?

However, it makes sense. Since they’ve just connected the array, the two array activators must be right beside the array.

They probably discussed it on the spot and finally decided to agree.

The two on the other side, one is the lone wolf, Shi Wanyun, and it’s unknown who the other person is, but they definitely represent the strong organization.

That is to say, whether it’s Shi Wanyun or the strong organization from District 1, both have agreed to establish connections between District 1 and District 188.

Anyway, it’s understandable.

Their steel armor weapons showcased on the trading platform worked.

They must be very envious of these items.

Establishing a relationship with District 188, trading with their explorers, is far more beneficial than harmful for District 1.

That’s why the other side agreed at lightning speed.

This matter should be discussed with the explorer’s people.

Of course, his own stance is clear; he supports establishing the relationship.

After observing the map, there seemed to be no other noteworthy places.

He retreated from the light pillar.

As soon as he emerged, he saw five more people approaching the light pillar from within the giant pit.

Ji Chaoyang, Lou Fei’Er, Wen Guixin, Wang Lei, Zhao Xiaochuan.

All five of them had arrived.

They must have all been transported to his treehouse and then walked over.

”Why did you all come?”

Xu Xin was a bit surprised.

”Since we were going to come anyway, we just decided to head straight here,” Wen Guixin said, standing several meters away from the other four. ”How are things going? What’s the situation?”

Xu Xin informed the couple about the situation.

”So, it seems we need all six of us to agree,” Ji Chaoyang turned to the others, ”What do you guys think?”

Wen Guixin stepped forward: ”Of course, we should establish relations; remaining closed off has no future.”

Wang Lei nonchalantly said: ”I have no strong opinion, it’s just more people to chat with.”

Zhao Xiaochuan appeared hesitant: ”If we establish relations, won’t other survivors from District 188 be able to contact ordinary survivors from District 1? If we provide them with low-cost weapons and armor, won’t they...”

Everyone understood Zhao Xiaochuan’s implication; he feared their region’s people would act as a middleman, selling the gear elsewhere.

They could offer equipment to their district’s people at low prices, but if it flowed to other regions...

Especially to District 1, wouldn’t that be like arming the enemy?

”It doesn’t really matter now, does it?” Wang Lei felt unconcerned, ”It’s not like they wouldn’t list on the world trading platform, I’ve seen it happen several times.”

Ji Chaoyang nodded: ”We just need to limit the purchase quantity for each person. Whatever they choose to do afterward, it’s up to them.”

It seemed Ji Chaoyang was also in the agreement camp.

Xu Xin nodded: ”Selling weapons and armor to other regions, weakening their own survival rate, I think most people wouldn’t be this foolish. If such fools exist, we’ll be too lazy to deal with them.”

”Alright then...” Zhao Xiaochuan nodded, ”I shouldn’t have any issues with that.”

”What about you? What do you think, Lou Fei’Er?” Ji Chaoyang asked, turning to Lou Fei’Er, who was silently gazing in a direction outside the giant pit.

”Huh? Me? Hmm...” Lou Fei’Er snapped back to reality.

She walked directly behind Xu Xin and, regardless of Xu Xin’s choice, expressed her stance: ”Whatever Xu Xin thinks, I think. I’ll follow his lead.”

Everyone knew she was under Xu Xin’s contract, so they were not surprised.

”... I really envy you, Brother Xin!!” Wang Lei immediately showed an expression of envy, jealousy, and bitterness, ”Not only do you have Sister Wenxi, but you also manage to make Sister Fei’Er listen so obediently. Brother Xin, do you have any more contracts?”

He leaned in beside Xu Xin.

Despite being taller than Xu Xin, he looked down with a somewhat ”shy” expression: ”Could you also give me one, I...”

”Who do you want to contract?” Wen Guixin gave him a sidelong glance.

”Ah haha, there are so many people from District 189 on our side, if I wanted to contract, couldn’t I just...” Wang Lei scratched his head.

”Stop thinking about frivolous things all day!” Wen Guixin frowned, somewhat annoyed as she looked at him, ”Xu Xin is contracting for ability users, what are you contracting for?”

”Alright...” Wang Lei admitted defeat.

Everyone at the scene laughed.

”So, all six of us agree, right?” Xu Xin said.

Everyone nodded.

”District 1 has already agreed to establish relations, should we establish them now?” Xu Xin asked.

”Hmm... Why don’t we wait a bit? Establishing relations will undoubtedly lead to many things needing to be handled, but right now...” He glanced at the iron door’s entrance, ”Currently, shouldn’t we ensure that this array belongs to us first?”

Indeed.

Whether for transportation or establishing external relations, they entirely rely on this array.

First, make sure this array is free of issues.

Though the statue has vanished, no one knows whether this situation is permanent or temporary.

That iron door, like a thorn, lodged in both his and Ji Chaoyang’s hearts.

They must first ensure absolute safety here!

Being on top of a great potential danger, it’s genuinely uncomfortable.

”Ah, Shi Wanyun just placed a pinned trade on the world trading channel,” Lou Fei’Er suddenly said, ”Her only remark is a single sentence hoping to establish relations with explorers!”

”Really? Let me see.” Zhao Xiaochuan also pulled out his watch.

What she said refers to establishing relations with explorers, not with District 188.

It seems the other side temporarily doesn’t want ordinary survivors to know this.

That’s why there’s such an ambiguous statement.

”Then... shall I tell her that we’ll consider for a day and reply tomorrow, how about it?” Xu Xin asked those around.

He was the only one present who could trade using a watch.

Everyone agreed.

Xu Xin immediately replied on the world trading channel.

The other side quickly pinned another trade with only one remark.

Okay.

”Alright, we’ll set this matter aside for now.” Ji Chaoyang said, ”Now, we need to handle another matter.”

Everyone’s gaze shifted to the ground, at that cold iron door resembling a manhole cover.

It’s time to go down and check it out.
