Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 623: Chapter 424: Establishing a Relationship?

Looking at the distant purple-black light pillar arch bridge before them, Xu Xin’s face was full of surprise.

Could there really be such an option?

Unexpectedly, communication could be achieved between regions via the treehouse systems connected by the two Transmission Arrays!

Although teleportation isn’t possible, this connection is extremely useful.

Until now, the system hasn’t facilitated human interaction across different regions, only opening world channels and a global trading platform, forcing top individuals in these regions to use the platform’s pinned function for communication.

The drawbacks of this are significant, as everything said and traded through this method is completely transparent.

Even mutual exchanges are visibly displayed, allowing every survivor in the world to see them.

This is more exaggerated than a public company.

As a result, their exploration group and other regional elites have yet to engage in any real, meaningful trades.

Because no one wants to disclose their cards in public for trading.

Their exploration group only showcased purple-grade steel armor and weapons to intimidate other regions.

But each person’s special abilities and the special equipment they can produce are definitely not going to be broadcast widely like this.

However, if the treehouse systems of both regions are connected, it’s a different story.

If private trades can be conducted, the exploration group wouldn’t probably refuse to exchange some useful items.

”What’s wrong?” Li Wenxi noticed his sudden wide eyes, appearing surprised and excited, but seemingly not because of the light pillars, so she curiously asked.

”Hmm?” Xu Xin was slightly stunned, ”Didn’t you hear?”

”Hear what?” Li Wenxi asked perplexedly, ”There wasn’t any sound just now?”

Hmm?

Oh, right.

Just now, the prompt said that as an activator of the array, one can decide whether to establish ties with Region 1.

In other words, that message was directed solely at the array activators.

Li Wenxi is not an array activator, so she didn’t hear that sound.

Currently, Region 188 has six array activators.

They are himself, Ji Chaoyang, Lou Fei’Er, Wen Guixin, Zhao Xiaochuan, and Wang Lei.

These six are all array activators.

It’s different in Region 1.

Because among their Transmission Array activators, only one has adopted the external climbing method.

According to the shortcuts taken by those with gray names, all who took shortcuts don’t have any permissions of array activators; they merely participated in activation but cannot be considered array activators.

That means, currently in Region 1, only two people are aware of this message.

One of them has been identified as Shi Wanyun, the other is unclear.

However, since it’s up to array activators to decide on connection, what to do if there is a disagreement when there are many activators like them—six in total?

”What’s going on?” Li Wenxi saw Xu Xin fall into contemplation again, becoming more curious.

”Oh, here’s the thing...” Xu Xin explained the matter to Li Wenxi as he clicked on the exploration group.

In the exploration group, those who heard the notification sound were already awakened from their slumber.

Wen Guixin: ”Could everyone hear that sound just now or only those who’ve activated the array?”

Wang Lei: ”I heard it too. Great, we can finally engage in normal trade with those folks in Region 1!”

Lou Fei’Er: ”I heard it too! I didn’t expect it could work this way.”

Qin Yunlong: ”Huh? What are you talking about? What sound? I only saw the two arrays connecting over there; has anything else happened?”

Qi Xuefei: ”I haven’t heard anything either.”

It seems everyone is waking up now.

As Xu Xin suspected, only those who activated the array could hear that sound.

At this point, he had conveyed all the information to Li Wenxi.

Li Wenxi widened her eyes, gazing at the other distant purple-black arch outside: ”So you’re saying, we can now establish diplomatic relations with Region 1?”

Diplomatic relations...

It does seem that way.

Communication, trade exchanges can occur.

Most importantly, after actual interactions between elites from both regions, they might obtain unknown information.

However, could regions really engage in friendly exchanges?

At this moment, Ji Chaoyang had already posted the statement from the sound in the exploration group channel.

Then he said: ”Everyone, let’s not disclose this matter for now, let’s figure out what to do first.”

Qin Yunlong: ”What’s this? Are we going to communicate with those elites from Region 1? It feels a bit delicate.”

Qi Xuefei: ”Not just communication between elites, by what it says... if relations are established, everyone from both sides could communicate and trade privately.”

Wang Lei: ”Sounds pretty good.”

Xu Xin had been checking his watch for a long time, seeing if there were any newly emerged features.

The result is no.

So, he said among the explorers, ”Perhaps we should go over to the Transmission Array and take a look. It should require some operation within that array. Hmm, I’ll just go, I’ll head over and check it out right away.”

”Eek!” Keke saw him and jumped directly onto his shoulder.

”Then I’ll go with you!” Li Wenxi said.

”No need for you to go. You won’t be of much help. Go have breakfast with Lou Fei’Er; she should have prepared it already. Besides, it’s not yet confirmed whether there’s any danger at the Transmission Array, so you’d better not go.” Xu Xin stopped her.

”Hmm, I’m not that fragile... Alright, then I’ll go eat first, and afterward, I’ll bring them to mine.” Li Wenxi no longer contemplated these things, after all, she was under significant pressure from her side too, ”Geez, your demand is just too massive!”

”Ahaha, as for resources, that’s all up to you.” Xu Xin felt somewhat helpless too, ”I can’t really be of much help.”

”Hmph, I asked you to accompany me several times before, and yet you haven’t come even once until now!” Li Wenxi recalled the matter, and couldn’t help but give him a glare.

”...Weren’t we super busy during this period, next time for sure, next time for sure.” Xu Xin pinched her slightly puffed-up cheek.

Bringing Silver King Mimi, Xu Xin and his two companions came down from the treehouse.

Seeing Xu Xin come down from the treehouse, Afu, who was hanging upside down under the treehouse, let out a sharp cry.

From the pit under the treehouse, the pangolin’s beloved poked its head out.

The temperature now has recovered above zero, and near the treehouse, it’s even warmer, thus increasing the outdoor activity frequency of the pangolin family.

”By the way, if you’re coming to my side for mining, you can bring the beloved one.” Xu Xin pointed to the pangolin, which had poked its head out, ”And those two little...huh! They’ve grown so big already?”

”Eek?!” Keke shouted in surprise.

From the pit, the two little ones also poked their heads out.

Perhaps they couldn’t be called little ones anymore.

They used to be much smaller than Keke.

After such a long growth period, they...

Their bodies are already the size of medium-sized dogs, with their tails making them even bigger!

They’re already much larger than Keke!

Actually... It hasn’t been that many days, right?

”Whoa? These two little ones have grown so big!” Li Wenxi walked over and patted their heads.

”Eek...” Keke seemed visibly a bit disappointed.

It had become the smallest little one again.

”Okay, okay.” Xu Xin patted Keke’s head and said to Li Wenxi, who was squatting on the ground tapping the pangolin’s scales with her fingers, ”I’ll head off first; you should go to Lou Fei’Er’s place for breakfast. Ask her to save a portion for me.”

”Mm, you go, be careful.”

Riding Silver King, Xu Xin swiftly advanced toward the array.

On the way, passing Zeng Tao’s treehouse, she saw him and poked her head out from the window, shouting, ”Where are you going? To the Transmission Array?”

She still didn’t know about the communication with Area 1.

”You don’t need to come today, just stay in the treehouse and recuperate.”

Xu Xin said a phrase, and Silver King already ran afar.

”Hmm...” Watching Xu Xin leave, Zeng Tao blinked, ”Today, he doesn’t seem to be as eager as yesterday to have people...”

...

Xu Xin quickly arrived at the edge of the giant pit.

It’s not yet seven in the morning, the sky is still studded with stars, and the sun hasn’t risen.

Here, as before, the pit had no statues left, and apart from the pillar of purple-black light reaching the sky in its center, the pit’s ground also had array patterns faintly emitting purple-black light.

Mimi lightly leaped and jumped into the five-meter-high pit.

Xu Xin rolled off the wolf: ”Silver King, just wait outside, if there’s any movement, call us.”

”Howl!” Silver King responded.

Being a wolf, this terrain was somewhat tricky for it.

Even though it’s a strong intermediate mutated wolf, compared to feline animals that jump around all day, such a five-meter-high, straight-up-and-down height difference poses some difficulty.

Wolves generally don’t jump around, and they can’t even climb trees.

Typically, encountering a wolf pack, you can avoid them by climbing a tree.

Just like on the prairie, when leopards encounter groups of hyenas, they usually jump directly onto a tree to escape.

Hyenas have no other choice but to leave after a while.

Silver King is just the same; getting down is no big deal for it, but coming back up probably requires Xu Xin’s help.

Better to let it patrol outside.

”Eek!” Keke had already jumped off Xu Xin’s shoulder, moving down along the uneven rocky wall.

Xu Xin also leaped down, rolled on the spot, stood up, and patted the dust off himself.

He led Keke and Mimi to the center of the Transmission Array, while glancing at the iron door on the ground.

The iron door still hadn’t changed; under the starry light, it reflected a weak, icy gleam, seemingly waiting for someone to unlock it.

Today, should take a look down there.
