Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 628: Chapter 427 The Survivors’ Gravity Mechanism_2

That’s right, there’s nothing here.

A room resembling an iron box.

The room is quite large, much larger than the two iron rooms he had seen before, and by a significant margin!

The height is at least seven or eight meters, and the area should be at least four to five hundred square meters.

Much larger than the previous two rooms with heights of four to five meters and areas of just over a hundred square meters each.

But this iron room has a problem.

It’s too vast.

So vast that, aside from the entrance above where they came in, the entire iron room doesn’t have a single door!

A completely enclosed space.

Like an iron box with just a straw hole in it.

”This... is this just a basement?” Lou Fei’Er looked around but still found nothing, ”Who has so much time on their hands to bury a basement so deep! Ah!”

She turned to look at Xu Xin, ”Your golden treasure chest back then, you didn’t get it from this basement, did you? This isn’t just a dead end, is it?”

Xu Xin frowned and said, ”It was indeed a similar room back then, but there was a door.”

”A door?” Lou Fei’Er looked around, ”There’s no door here, could it be a secret door?”

”No,” Xu Xin shook his head, ”it was a very heavy door like a vault door. It was after leaving that room that I found the golden treasure chest.”

Lou Fei’Er had already started feeling around the walls, ”Then this room should also have a way out, right? I can sense that the thing that can make me stronger is very close! Maybe, just leaving this iron box will lead to it!”

Outside the room, perhaps that’s the world.

However, why does this room have no door?

”Oink!” Suddenly Keke called out from a distance, ”Oink oink!”

Xu Xin looked over at Keke, who was standing at a spot, waving its little paw at Xu Xin.

Its meaning was clear; it wanted him to come over.

”What’s up?” Lou Fei’Er also looked over.

”First, check if there’s a hidden door on the walls,” Xu Xin said as he walked towards Keke.

”Oh, okay.”

Xu Xin walked over to Keke.

Keke was currently standing in a corner of the entire room.

But still, there was nothing here.

The walls, the floor, and the ceiling were smooth, unrusted thick iron plates.

”What’s up?” Xu Xin picked up Keke and asked.

”Oink!” Keke pointed its little paw at the floor.

”The floor?” Xu Xin crouched down and touched the floor.

Then his face changed.

Because, a prompt sounded in his ear.

[Survivor Gravity Mechanism: When a survivor stands on it, the mechanism gets triggered. There are six mechanisms in this room. Once all are triggered, something will happen.]

Xu Xin was shocked.

This is actually a gravity-triggered mechanism?!

And there are six such mechanisms in this entire room?

In other words, it requires six survivors?

Coincidentally, they were supposed to come down with six people.

He pressed the floor with his hand, but nothing happened.

He stood up and stepped on it.

”Crack!”

Underfoot, there was a cracking sound, and then a square seam appeared on the previously smooth iron floor, as a 1*1 brick began to slowly sink.

”What happened?!” Lou Fei’Er also heard the sound and instantly rushed over, ”The floor is sinking?!”

”It’s okay,” Xu Xin stopped her from pulling him out.

The sinking was slow, and Keke showed no reaction, so it probably wasn’t dangerous.

Moreover, the description said that all six mechanisms must be triggered for something to happen.

While the floor was sinking, Xu Xin explained the gravity mechanism to Lou Fei’Er.

”Something will happen...” Lou Fei’Er was stunned, then said, ”I’ll go find the other positions!”

”There’s no need for the trouble, Keke, can you find the other positions?” Xu Xin rubbed Keke’s tail.

If it weren’t for Keke, someone might need to step on every part of the ground around to find the six positions.

The sound of a crack means the spot is right.

Finding them isn’t too hard.

But with Keke, it’s even simpler.

”Oink!” Keke jumped off Xu Xin’s shoulder and ran in a direction, and Lou Fei’Er immediately followed.

At this moment, another cracking sound came from underfoot, and the iron block below stopped sinking.

It had probably sunk about twenty centimeters.

At this point, countless blood-red glow patterns appeared on the one square meter block, startling Xu Xin.

Fortunately, they were just patterns.

Flowing and flickering on the entire surface of the iron brick.

Indeed, it had a bit of an alien technology feel.

But come to think of it, isn’t this truly alien technology?

Xu Xin stepped out of this small pit, and the patterns on the entire block immediately dimmed and began to slowly rise.

Xu Xin stepped on it again, and the block started to sink again.

He thought for a while, summoned the Silver King from his bracelet, and then had it step on the block.

”Grr...?” The Silver King, being very large, curled up on the block, looking confused at Xu Xin.

Its weight was much more than Xu Xin’s, but it didn’t prevent the block from rising.

The Silver King couldn’t trigger the mechanism.

It seems the mechanism must be triggered by a survivor, as its name suggests, [Survivor Gravity Mechanism]; others can’t do it.

He immediately contacted the people above and told them the situation below.

”Is that so?” Ji Chaoyang pondered.

”What do you plan to do? Come down? Or should I go up?” Xu Xin asked.

”Of course, we’re coming down!” Zhao Xiaochuan’s voice came through, ”Such an interesting thing, we definitely want to be part of it, Brother Xin!”

”Yeah, we’ve come this far, no need to go back. Didn’t you say back then that the golden treasure chest was found in such a place? Then there must be good stuff after the mechanism is triggered.” Wen Guixin’s voice sounded excited.

”Since there’s no danger, we’re coming down now, Brother Xin,” Wang Lei said to Ji Chaoyang’s watch, ”Haha, we’ve been overly cautious, we might as well have all come down earlier.”

”Alright, let’s go down,” Ji Chaoyang also said, ”You first find those six positions below and see if there are any other discoveries.”

Regardless of whether or not to activate the mechanism, they should at least come down and take a look.

”Okay, you guys come down as soon as possible then.”

After hanging up, Xu Xin looked around the room again.

Outside the room, could it be that underground world?

What exactly will happen after the mechanisms are triggered?
