Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 617: Chapter 420: Against the Giant Beast with Heavy Crossbow Arrows! _2

Since it’s not shared property of the organization, of course, he has to satisfy his own needs first before distributing the rest to them.

Thirty decorative items can increase the decoration level by 300 points. Moreover, their parasitic treehouses can also share a 20% increase in Xu Xin’s decoration level, that is, a total of 360 points.

They develop individually, unlike Xu Xin who flourishes in many areas. For now, 360 decoration points are sufficient for them.

Then, give ten each to the few people parasitized on Ma Hongwei’s side.

There are a total of 5 people there. Although they basically haven’t interacted much, they are still one’s own people.

Next, let Li Wenxi take what she needs.

The rest can be distributed to the other Explorers.

Whether they keep it for themselves or distribute it to the people below is up to them.

Zeng Tao and Qin Fu’s treehouses are already planted, and they can directly be contacted for trading.

They should be resting in the treehouses now, as they are still in the weak period.

Xu Xin immediately sent 30 green-grade decorative items to each of these four people.

The four of them also sent back private messages one after another.

Lou Fei’Er: ”Wow, I can’t believe you gave me so much, love you, Master!”

Qin Fu: ”Wow, so much stuff right after arriving, our organization’s benefits are really good.”

Zeng Tao: ”Do I also have a share? Uh, can you now make me the weapon we agreed on earlier?”

What caught Xu Xin’s attention was Ma Hongwei’s reply.

Ma Hongwei: ”Thanks, Brother Xin. This will help me speed up my research even more. The new crossbow is finished; would you like to take a look?”

Wow, I almost forgot about the new crossbow.

”What type of crossbow?” Xu Xin immediately asked him.

”All types of metal crossbow formulas are completely unlocked, and there’s a small device. Brother Xin, why don’t you come over and take a look—I’ve already set it up here,” Ma Hongwei replied.

”Alright, I’ll be there in a while. By the way.” Xu Xin sent another 50 decorative items to Ma Hongwei, ”Ten items for each of the five people.”

”Okay, Brother Xin.”

Meanwhile, he made a voice call to Li Wenxi, told her the situation, and asked about her needs there.

He had already made a lot of decorative items for Li Wenxi, at least reaching the green-grade limit for her treehouse.

”I also have enough of those two decorative items from Ji Chaoyang.” The sound of a furnace was nearby Li Wenxi, ”Just send me the other two decorative items! As for others, there’s no hurry. The current smelting capacity is higher than the ore output, so there’s no need for too much decoration.”

”Alright, I’ll send it to you.” Xu Xin sent the items while asking, ”By the way, are you smelting metals?”

”Of course, they’ve dug up a lot of iron ores today. I have to smelt them into metal blocks to fill the current stock void!”

The sound of bellows came again, and Xu Xin could almost feel a rush of heat from the sound.

”You have so many people under you, you don’t have to do it yourself, right? Just let them do it,” Xu Xin suggested.

”Hmm, tomorrow. They’ve been mining all day today, while I’ve been resting. I’d feel bad making them do it now... I’ll come to you after finishing this batch. The stock being too empty makes me uneasy.”

”Uh... how much do you have now?” Xu Xin asked somewhat apologetically.

”...What, do you need it again? I was just about to replenish the stock!”

”You know Zeng Tao’s ability, don’t you?...” Xu Xin explained Zeng Tao’s request to her.

”How... how much?!” Li Wenxi’s voice rose in surprise.

”Forty blue-grade steel blocks and ten purple-grade steel blocks,” Xu Xin repeated.

”...You...! Boohoo, are you using the resources I painstakingly gathered for other women!” Li Wenxi’s voice sounded a bit aggrieved.

”Huh? No...” Xu Xin didn’t know what to say.

Come to think of it, it does feel a bit like that...

”Haha, just kidding, but...” Li Wenxi laughed, then said with a bit of heartache, ”Your requests are too much... I wasn’t around today, and they didn’t dig enough, so tomorrow, for sure—boohoo, the stock will be empty again...”

They chatted for a while before hanging up.

Xu Xin also couldn’t be bothered with the allocation of decorative items; he handed the remaining items to Ji Chaoyang, then swung down from the treehouse and headed over to Ma Hongwei’s side.

Around Ma Hongwei’s treehouse, five parasitic treehouses are lined up away from Xu Xin’s treehouse, forming a barrier against the outside.

In the brilliant starlight, Xu Xin spotted a crossbow with a metallic sheen in their tree crowns.

Moreover, it emitted a blue glow!

Blue-grade crossbow!

”Ah, hello Brother Xin!” Someone from one of the treehouses poked their head out. Upon seeing Xu Xin, they immediately greeted him.

Others also poked their heads out to greet him.

This was probably the first time Xu Xin saw them since they parasitized onto the tree.

Those selected by Ma Hongwei had relatively introverted personalities, unlike Wen Guixin’s side, which was always lively.

Of course, it’s just a comparison with the others of the same batch, slightly more introverted.

After all, they were also the kind of people who dared to come and join from the first batch, without any social issues.

Xu Xin nodded to them.

He continued to survey Ma Hongwei and their treehouses.

Under their tree crowns, he found the same crossbows.

”Huh?” Xu Xin gave a small exclamation.

Weren’t crossbows only installable on treehouse walls?

”Brother Xin!” Ma Hongwei swung down from his treehouse.

”That crossbow is...” Xu Xin pointed to the crossbow under his treehouse.

”Oh, that’s one of the things I wanted to discuss with you,” Ma Hongwei began, ”It’s a device that, when installed on the treehouse floor, allows the crossbow to hang below the treehouse and attack beneath it.”

Xu Xin’s eyes lit up: ”Nice!”

This invention is great!

The area below the treehouse was always a blind spot for crossbows.

They could rely on plant hearts to protect below the treehouse, while others could only use treehouse roots, crossbow themselves with a hand crossbow, or go down personally.

His banyan tree exacerbated this weakness.

After all, expanding the treehouse area also widened the crossbow’s blind zone.

However, with this device, no worries anymore!

The crossbow can attack below the treehouse too!

”But, the crossbow can’t be manually operated from the floor,” Ma Hongwei continued, ”It can only be controlled through the control panel, so to mass-produce this device, it needs to be released with the control panel.”

Xu Xin nodded.

That’s good enough.

With the blue-grade wood needed for the control panel, they won’t be short after having Qin Fu.

”Brother Xin, come on up, I want to show you something,” Ma Hongwei suddenly stated mysteriously.

He maneuvered the treehouse roots to bring Xu Xin into his third-floor research room.

Still, the floor was littered with wood shavings and pieces, this time with added metal scraps.

Ma Hongwei walked to the workbench, picked up a two-meter-long crossbow bolt with a metal-made head, and handed it to him.

”Brother Xin, look at this.”

Xu Xin took it.

So heavy!

At the same time, an introduction appeared.

[Delayed Explosion Metal Crossbow Bolt (Blue): A crossbow bolt with strong penetration power, not only sharp but containing explosives. The explosive will detonate one second after embedding in the enemy unit, causing explosive damage!]

Xu Xin’s eyes widened.

This is a crossbow bolt made to combat giant beasts!

Ma Hongwei actually managed to create something like this!
