Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 619: Chapter 422: Another Bottle, Jin Yue’s Choice

Then, he fell into the state that Xu Xin had experienced before.

Cold.

Really cold.

”This... This is...” Qin Fu exhaled a breath of cold air, his eyes full of surprise.

Xu Xin was slightly taken aback and understood immediately.

Not everyone can endure multiple bottles of potion after mutation.

Because his mutation was related to spiritual power, his physical enhancement was limited.

So, compared to Lou Fei’Er, who could drink two bottles consecutively without issue, his physical ability was much weaker, and he could only take one bottle before experiencing anomalies with the second.

After explaining the situation to him, Qin Fu ran to the fireplace to warm up, while Xu Xin left his treehouse heading towards Zeng Tao’s treehouse.

At the same time, he contacted Lou Fei’Er, asking her to go to Zeng Tao’s treehouse.

When he arrived at Zeng Tao’s treehouse, the two women were already waiting for him.

Zeng Tao was in great spirits, hugging the big knife Xu Xin had given her, and kept giggling foolishly.

”There’s no need for that, Xiaotaozi. Just a weapon makes you so happy.” Lou Fei’Er pulled out two purple daggers from her waist and teased, ”I have two of them.”

Zeng Tao glanced at her daggers with disdain and said, ”What tiny weapons, they look funny.”

Without another word, Lou Fei’Er put her daggers away and pinched her cheeks: ”You little runt, how dare you tease me!”

But Zeng Tao, still in her weakened state and burdened with a heavy knife, couldn’t fight back and could only cry out from her bullying: ”Wah, wait until I recover, you’ll see...”

”Alright, the two of you.” Xu Xin took out two bottles of spiritual potions from his backpack, stopping their antics.

He handed one bottle to each of them.

Without waiting for Xu Xin to speak, Lou Fei’Er took the bottle and drank it down immediately.

She had already drunk several before.

”Eh? What’s that, how come you drank... the spiritual potion?” Zeng Tao also saw the description on the bottle, surprised, ”You made this?”

”Mm...” Lou Fei’Er put down the empty bottle and smiled, ”These can gradually make the downsides of mutation disappear.”

”Really? Oh, right, low spiritual power can be boosted!” Zeng Tao figured it out too and drank the potion immediately.

”Mm... Orange-flavored potion?” She wiped her mouth and reached out to Xu Xin, ”Tasty! Give me another!”

Xu Xin took out two more bottles, giving one to each.

They drank them down again.

With their enhanced physical abilities, they were much stronger than Qin Fu; two bottles down and still no abnormal reactions, they even wanted more.

Xu Xin took out two more bottles.

They drank again.

Still no reaction.

Their eyes continued to shine as they looked at Xu Xin.

Both could feel the cool sensation in their minds.

Zeng Tao was less sensitive as she just mutated, so she wasn’t as aware of the spiritual power increase.

But Lou Fei’Er was different, having been in a state of low spiritual power for a long time, the increase made her feel ecstatic.

Xu Xin hesitated for a moment and got out two more bottles.

These were meant for Ji Chaoyang. However, he also wanted to know where their limits really were.

They drank again.

But this time, there was a reaction.

Lou Fei’Er suddenly shook, gasped, and hugged herself, exhaling a cold breath: ”S-so... cold...”

Zeng Tao next to her felt nothing and looked at Lou Fei’Er curiously: ”What’s happening?”

Lou Fei’Er’s limit was three bottles of potion; the fourth caused side effects.

While Zeng Tao’s tolerance was higher.

It makes sense, her special ability was physical.

Even in weakness, she’s just powerless; her constitution hadn’t changed.

Suddenly Lou Fei’Er hugged Zeng Tao.

”Ah! Your body is freezing cold! Don’t touch my stomach, it’s cold! Cold!” Zeng Tao struggled, but it was pointless, ”What’s happening all of a sudden!”

Xu Xin gave a brief explanation.

”So cold!” Lou Fei’Er, realizing her situation, brushed against Zeng Tao’s cheek before letting go and then ran to the fireplace to warm up.

”Hm, I haven’t reached my limit, how about giving me a few more bottles?” Zeng Tao rubbed her face and looked at Xu Xin.

”No more.” Xu Xin said irritably, ”You’ve already drunk them all.”

”Oh, alright...” Zeng Tao still held her huge blade, feeling the increase in her spiritual power.

After about fifteen minutes, Lou Fei’Er recovered.

”Ahh... feeling good...” Lou Fei’Er sighed deeply as she came back.

At this moment, Xu Xin’s watch buzzed again.

It was a message from Qi Xuefei: ”Jin Yue’s legs have completely healed. I’ve told her about our respective roles and invited her to stay here to help out, but she insists on finding Lou Fei’Er and doesn’t want to stay with me. What do you think, should she mutate too?”

This Jin Yue is quite stubborn.

Staying with Qi Xuefei must be the most comfortable position for explorers.

No danger faced, plenty of medicinal supplies, and rarely a threat to life.

Ignoring such a good job, she insists on mutation and battle.

Lou Fei’Er leaned over for a look and said, ”Let her come over. We’ve talked a lot, and I’ve promised to help her become stronger so she won’t be bullied. Mutation is the fastest way to power up.”

”But there are too many downsides.” Xu Xin shook his head.

”Hmph, you didn’t think about that when you helped us mutate.” Zeng Tao said a bit angrily.

She knew about the discussion’s ins and outs through the chat on the wristband.

It’s not like he hadn’t thought about it, but they had abilities that needed to be fully controlled. Xu Xin thought to himself.

He’s not like Uncle Liu upholding benevolent governance—in this world, mercy equates to foolishness, not to mention they’re outsiders, refusal meant death; no need for further discussion.

But Jin Yue was one of our own.

Forget it, it’s better to respect her choice.

”Let her come over.” Xu Xin sent a message to Qi Xuefei.

”Okay.” Qi Xuefei replied after a while, and only with one word.

It seems she doesn’t quite agree with Jin Yue coming over either.

She probably knows about Jin Yue’s experiences and feels sympathetic, wanting her to stay and help rather than get involved in other conflicts.

But it seems she couldn’t convince Jin Yue.

”Alright, let’s go back.” Xu Xin stood up, and Lou Fei’Er followed suit.

”Um, about my great sword, can it still be made?” Seeing they were about to leave, Zeng Tao cautiously asked.

”In a few days, once we have enough materials, we’ll make it for you.” Xu Xin was about to head downstairs.

”Then... then this weapon... you won’t take it back, will you?” Zeng Tao clutched the weapon tightly.

”You’re such a greedy one.” Lou Fei’Er couldn’t help but say.

”You have two, why can’t I have one?” Zeng Tao glared at Lou Fei’Er.

”Once I give something away, I won’t take it back.” Xu Xin waved his hand.

”Really? Yay!”

Leaving Zeng Tao’s treehouse, the two walked back.

From afar, they could see Jin Yue standing under Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse, her long legs straight, completely recovered.

”Was she always this tall?” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed in surprise.

Previously, Jin Yue was always sitting down with a broken leg, so her height wasn’t noticeable.

Unexpectedly, when she stood up, she was even taller than Li Wenxi!

And with her impressive figure and cold demeanor, she looked like an aloof goddess.

Yan Haoming really deserves to die.

Seeing Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er approaching, she smiled.

”Have you made your decision?” Xu Xin asked.

”Yes, I’ve decided.” Jin Yue nodded immediately, ”I know the disadvantages after mutation and understand the division of labor among others. I chose to mutate voluntarily.”

Since she said so, Xu Xin didn’t say more.

”Alright, then follow Lou Fei’Er.” Xu Xin nodded and then said to Lou Fei’Er, ”Give her a pill.”

Lou Fei’Er already had a pill in hand and immediately gave it to Jin Yue when Xu Xin spoke.

Jin Yue didn’t hesitate at all and swallowed the pill, and a red light flashed in her eyes.

”Alright, stop here!” Xu Xin quickly stopped her seeing that Jin Yue intended to undergo a direct mutation.

Letting Qin Fu and Zeng Tao mutate was to make them mutate to facilitate a contract.

But Jin Yue was originally from District 188, one of their own.

And she didn’t have any special abilities, so there was no need to make a contract with her.

She didn’t need to undergo her first mutation right now.

”The pill itself has the effect of enhancing physical abilities. You can feel it first. Don’t waste any mutation.”

Upon hearing this, the red light in Jin Yue’s eyes faded, and she nodded: ”I understand. My enhancement is likely strength; my strength has increased significantly.”

She clenched her fist, a faint smile appearing on her face.

Xu Xin nodded.

Strength, huh.

Not bad.

Lou Fei’Er and Zeng Tao, after mutation, had their speed enhanced.

Ma Hongwei and Jin Yue had their strength enhanced.

Qin Fu had spiritual power enhanced.

I wonder if when Jin Yue fully unleashes, she’ll make the ground tremble with every step like Ma Hongwei.

”Good, you can plant your treehouse next to Lou Fei’Er’s and follow her.”

”Alright.” Jin Yue nodded, not saying much.

”Come on, Jin Yue, Sister Yue, I’ll pick a good spot for you!”

Lou Fei’Er took Jin Yue and started measuring distances.

Xu Xin returned to his own treehouse.

The matter with Jin Yue was within his plans.

Besides fulfilling her request, he wanted to see if someone who merely took a pill without undergoing the first mutation would have any side effects or disadvantages.

If it only enhanced physical ability without other impacts...

Then perhaps every one of their explorers could take one.

After all, it not only enhanced ability but also gave an extra life.

If there were no side effects, it could be considered a divine medicine.

Keke had again dozed off on the armrest of the sofa.

Silver King Mimi was also affected, sleeping soundly.

The giant egg lay motionless on its side.

Under the treehouse, Princess’s family and Afu had all rested.

This day, everything that needed doing was finally done.

He opened the world channel, finding no other accurate information.

Everyone was discussing if those who seized the red berries found shortcuts, and when the next Snow Mountain Array would activate.

If it’s a shortcut, it shouldn’t take long, right?

Niu Fugui’s side too.

Maybe when he wakes up tomorrow morning, he’ll get good news.
