Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 646: Chapter 438: Encounter in the Underground Prison

Soon, he returned to the spot where he had triggered the mechanism to come down.

Looking at the now closed mechanism, Xu Xin fell into silence.

Indeed, the mechanism on the ceiling that had originally descended, now had risen back again.

The exit overhead had completely disappeared.

Goodness, now even he himself is trapped inside?

But on second thought, it’s quite normal.

Only he, with his enhanced jumping ability, would consider the hole five or six meters high on the ceiling as an exit.

A normal person who fell down would certainly have no way to return.

Therefore, there must be other exits in this underground prison.

”Whine!” Ahead, Keke’s voice urged him to move forward quickly.

The giant bugs in the surrounding cages were much more agitated compared to the giant beasts, starting to stir as he and Keke passed by.

The piercing bug chirping entered his ears, making Xu Xin want to cover them!

The bug noises were at least ten levels more unpleasant than the lion roar, which was like the emperor’s engine!

Frowning, he quickened his pace, soon catching up with Keke ahead.

He was now in another dungeon passage on the other side.

It was basically no different from the side he had walked to the end earlier.

After a section of downward slope, it began to spiral downwards, the prison gradually enlarging, and the underground creatures imprisoned within were growing larger.

And on this side, there was a giant beast imprisoned too.

A giant python coiled half as high as the cell!

Slate-grey scales reflected a light colder than the cell walls, and crimson slit eyes narrowed further upon seeing Xu Xin, as the python’s head slammed ”bang” against the golden cell bars.

”Whine!” Keke was startled, climbing onto Xu Xin’s shoulder with two swift moves, waving its little paws at the giant python in the cage.

As for Xu Xin, he didn’t mind, even rubbing Keke’s little head, laughing, ”This guy can’t get out; you might as well dive in for a try?”

”Whine! Whine whine!” Keke protested, indicating that Xu Xin was asking it to send itself to death.

Xu Xin glanced at the giant python and continued to walk forward.

Snake-like giant creatures didn’t seem so terrifying to him.

He’s already used to it.

Just a few days after arriving in this world, having passed his newbie protection period, he had already encountered a lake giant python comparable in size to this snake.

Moreover, the giant python later became even more formidable, stretching at least hundreds of meters.

At that time, the giant python’s pressure was far greater than this python head banging on the metal bars in the prison now.

Therefore, compared to the Lake Giant Python, this ”little guy” in front was really no fun.

This side also had a total of eight giant beast cages, but except for the python’s cage, the other seven were empty.

He continued to walk forward.

Then, at the end, unexpectedly, he saw someone.

”Whine!” Keke greeted the person in the cell.

”... You actually got trapped here too.” Xu Xin was somewhat surprised.

”Ah, Xu Xin! You’ve arrived! I... oh dear, I’m so embarrassed!”

Seeing Xu Xin come over, Wen Guixin, who was originally lying on the bed with her hands behind her head, immediately sat up, feeling slightly awkward as she saw Xu Xin.

Unexpected, yet reasonable.

He guessed that the two should be faster, likely to arrive earlier than him.

Now it seemed he guessed right.

They were just recklessly trapped here.

You can’t really blame them.

If it weren’t for Keke reminding him to stop, Xu Xin would have probably approached this vine bundle directly too.

”Did you also fall when stepping outside the vine bundle?” Xu Xin asked.

”Also? You did too?” Wen Guixin turned to look at him, ”Then why aren’t you in the cell?”

”I didn’t step outside.” Xu Xin shook his head, stroked Keke’s little head, ”All thanks to this little guy.”

”Whine!” Keke raised its little head.

”... What do you mean?” Wen Guixin was stunned for a moment, then realized, ”Oh, you got in through that gap in the vine bundle, didn’t you? I saw that gap too. But since you didn’t step outside, how do you know I fell?”

”Because I just encountered Zhao Xiaochuan, he’s now in the same situation as you.”

Xu Xin told her the information he got from Zhao Xiaochuan.

Upon hearing that he fell and immediately lost consciousness, waking up lying on the bed, Wen Guixin frowned.

”What’s wrong? Your experience different from his?” Xu Xin asked.

”Hmm... I also lost consciousness when falling... no.” Wen Guixin shook her head, ”I shouldn’t have lost consciousness; my awareness was just very blurry. In that haze, I seemed to see a few people.”

People...?

Xu Xin’s heart skipped a beat.

”Are you sure, they were people?” he immediately asked.

Wen Guixin nodded, ”Definitely people, no... just could see humanoid shapes, could also be those furry monster people? At the time, I thought it was some of you guys, got excited for a moment, but my awareness was too blurry, couldn’t make a sound. However, I soon realized they weren’t you.”

”What do you mean?”

”Because, those people came to me, trying to lift my body. You guys definitely wouldn’t do such a thing,” Wen Guixin said.
