Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1502: Chapter 80: Prince Alexis’s Luck

However, Hill, who discovered Alexis and understood that he had colluded with Wendy, fell into a dilemma... Was he the trouble arranged by the Power of Destiny for Eo?

Probably not, right?

After all, Toril still had a pretty good Goddess of Magic according to their existing history!

Although this Goddess might have quite a personality, it’s better than a completely emotionless control machine, isn’t it?

Wait!

Hill quickly collected his slightly chaotic thoughts; how could he be Eo’s repercussion?

William is!

Without William, how could Coron even glance at the Undead Tribe?

Even without Hill, the Undead Tribe would eventually visit Toril sooner or later!

Shaer would also always be interested in William... As long as the Goddess of the Night isn’t causing trouble on the Toril Continent, many things would not go out of control.

Yes! Hill nodded forcefully, Eo’s repercussion is William, just like Aesces’s repercussion is Eosca.

They were bound to meet sooner or later.

Hill just arrived a bit before them.

Patting off the invisible dust on himself, Hill nonchalantly stood up and stretched: the meeting between Wendy and Alexis seemed to have reached a conclusion.

The deep blue-green gleam in that Wind Elemental Creature’s eyes hadn’t appeared for half an hour... Before this, as long as Ellie and Alexis met, that fairy-like beautiful and cute Wendy was never at ease.

Her ability to control the Wind Element was too high-level, and she only acted when there was wind, always concealing it with her act of playing with Ellie’s long hair. If not for knowing she had issues, even Hill, with a sensitivity to Elemental Power comparable to that of Elemental Overlords, might have overlooked it.

Therefore, Hill didn’t think the people surrounding Ellie and Alexis would notice anything.

Apart from Lucimar, who was still filled with vigilance toward Alexis, the other watchers seemed to judge this Prince Danboro to be casting a wide net... Nobles nearing their marriage period always like to expand their social circles.

After all, noble marriages are filled with uncertainties, even when everything is agreed upon, sudden change isn’t impossible.

Everyone prepares several paths for themselves.

Thus, open conflicts rarely happen among young nobles, and even when relations aren’t very friendly, it isn’t shown... After all, who knows if two people pursuing the same lady might suddenly become brothers-in-law.

However, Lucimar wasn’t signaling something wrong, but rather judging from Lucimar’s personality and style that this prince isn’t the type to simply flirt, so as Alexis and Ellie’s relationship with the Moon Clan became more harmonious, this middle-aged mage’s vigilance only heightened.

Although he didn’t understand why Lucimar was so concerned about Alexis’s safety, even letting him move into his home didn’t mean Lucimar planned to grant him true trust.

Hill couldn’t help but sigh: such strong suspicion can only prove how bad this mage’s previous living environment was.

He always thought that the pretty female assistant, who was once enthusiastic and considerate enough to make him much more temperate, might be an exception, but observing over this period, he found out, not at all.

That pretty lady doesn’t understand Lucimar’s true character, she interacts with him solely based on his external portrayal... Even if Lucimar has a good impression of her, he doesn’t genuinely trust her.

Although he eats the dishes prepared by that female housekeeper of Prince Alexis, Hill is certain he only eats inside the house.

Once those things are brought to him outside, even if it’s in the courtyard, he wouldn’t touch them.

But thinking about the Ishmael Household environment more daunting than the harem... In the harem, a queen’s son’s status wouldn’t be as low as Lucimar’s, having to call an affair’s children brother and sister... So, it’s not unimaginable.

Even if to obtain some favor from Ishmael, those women who willingly moved into his Magic Manor are willing to sacrifice some interests, true peaceful coexistence between them is impossible.

While a man might believe they compete for his love, he wouldn’t deny the inevitable struggle among these women... Ishmael might really think that, given his confidence in his interests and luck.

Thus, facing a common enemy, even if it’s just a child, no one would show mercy.

After living like that for a long time, ending up as neurotic like Lucimar isn’t too strange.

Hill shook his head and smiled... Aesces always gave him a sense of déjà vu.

Then he turned around and drove the Cloud Ship home: he never considered what he would do if it were him.

Each stake he drove, each bucket of ash he laid, was out of his own will, with no need for wavering.

In contrast, Aesces would need to experience, after just finishing constructing a highway in high spirits, stepping on the accelerator at 120 mph only to find cracks and large pits due to shoddy work!

Hill didn’t wait long; Alexis soon chose the delightful activity of opening the box.

Hill hadn’t been monitoring this prince, but because he sneaked up to the mountain that Hill’s Magic Tower once visited under the blazing sun, where Hill once compared the past and present of Windbell Grass and Lily of the Valley... Now, over a dozen Windbell Grasses, surpassing the limits of life, possibly living thousands to tens of thousands of years, are blooming there... So, when this prince was hanging on a cliff with a small trowel digging rocks, Lily of the Valley informed Hill.

So, Hill watched him painstakingly dig until sunset, only to excitedly retrieve that newly teleported and bejeweled Crystal Casket.

Hill thought Alexis’s expressions of wanting to give up were too apparent, so Eosca, watching in the Dimensional Space, couldn’t delay any longer, or Alexis might have had to dig for much longer.

Testing someone like this, Hill thought Eosca might have significant issues... But thinking about it, he didn’t even understand the relationship between the Lady of Pain and Mark City before daring to undermine her and seize her city, so now just having an unusual way of doing things seems not entirely inexplicable.

Standing on the cliff, Alexis opened the Crystal Box with an elated expression... The little fairy at the center of the beautiful box, with lightning entwining like thunder, also appeared full of fighting spirit.

Though he quickly turned to look like a real Lightning Elemental, appearing only as a vague humanoid form, Hill immediately recognized him... Eosca actually took action personally!

Though he disguised himself as a Lightning Element Lord... oh, in this world’s terms, that’s a Wind and Thunder Fairy.

Hill hung in the clouds, watching Alexis with a Lightning Elemental Creature morphing into a dragon, a cloud, and then a humanoid form, greet the dumbfounded Lucimar... The Mage first had a moment of realization, then a face of confusion: that choice of a Wind Elemental Creature choosing Ellie was surprising, but Ellie was a decently talented mage after all.

But what about Alexis?

In this world where a mage would always be above an ordinary professional, no prince with mage talent would choose to become a knight.

But among the royal family members, possibly due to their overly privileged living conditions, having anyone with mage talent is rare, and Prince Alexis belongs to the group with only a touch of Thunder Element talent, as a knight.

But such an Alexis, how is he qualified for a powerful Lightning Elemental to voluntarily contract with him... Even if he has means to contract at a higher level, this leap is excessive.

Lucimar hinted around and received the crystal box full of various sealing arrays that Alexis gave out candidly, and this Alchemist was enchanted by the ancient array from Another World, entirely different from Aesces.

Before figuring out if this thing is truly useful, Lucimar could only temporarily accept this as Alexis’s good luck... Having heard a bit of insider information, he didn’t doubt such luck.

But he suspected, wasn’t this luck a bit too excessive?

Since Ellie got a Wind Elemental Creature, Lucimar had felt something was off.

Even if Ellie was a bit favored by the World Will, it seemed a bit excessive... Great Sage Belfran’s unexpected arrival could be understood, but this was absolutely not.

After all, his father, genuinely favored by the world, didn’t get a Fire Elemental Creature as good as Ellie’s.

However, Lucimar couldn’t ponder these anymore... He suddenly discovered, after acquiring that Lightning Elemental, he couldn’t trace Prince Alexis’s moves anymore.

To an extent, Eosca was ruthless, but his talent for undermining was truly impressive, and he had a knack for finding allies... Seeing Alexis and Prince Scaret furtively communicating in an illusion-filled cave, even Hill couldn’t help but drop his jaw and go ’oh~oh~oh’ for quite a while.
