Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1518: Chapter 96: The Undead Tribe Was Never One of Us

After arranging the tasks for these clan leaders recently, I returned to my base at ’Snow Cloud Peak’ and looked at the alliance members who followed me intuitively, laughing twice: ”What? Worried about those people over there?”

”They weren’t so honest in Toril!” The tall, strong ’Young Master’ replied gruffly, then furrowed his brow and shut his mouth... He felt that this wasn’t the voice he usually spoke with.

”Look at you, always have to play differently, can’t even handle it yourself, right?” The male mage named ’Passion Fruit’ behind him mocked mercilessly... He, like Baldy, chose a height of 1.4 meters.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ waved a hand to stop the impending bickering between them: ”Stop!

I already expected them to act this way.

Heh~ In Toril, the ones who benefited were us!

Even though they created many Knight Corps and Priest Corps to fight alongside the forces of Toril, they overlooked the fundamental issue.

The faction of the Three Gods of Justice they were attempting to join ultimately relies on the favor of the deities.

Just as Tyr’s Paladins may admire their courage, they wouldn’t bypass their Main God to give them a Badge of Justice.

And Tyr, this time, merely echoed behind All Gods without officially participating.

The remaining two’s focus was on saving mortals, with no interest in getting involved in this chaos.

Moreover, the Righteous Knights hardly had any opportunity to fight, so they certainly wouldn’t waste their limited strength joining the battle on the Undead Tribe’s side.

Later, they attempted to forge good relations with Shaer’s followers... but Shaer, you know, definitely handles matters officially, and her attitude towards us will certainly be consistent with William.

And what really gets them rattled, as you understand, is that Nasir is in charge of managing New Chult’s daily affairs.

Due to past relations, he would often prioritize better-paid tasks for us—Magic Cult and Black Rose.

No need to mention Edna, even the Road Eunuch managed to get to Ambori!

The big tasks earlier, the benefits basically all belong to us, with them not even leaving a name behind... If it weren’t for Black and White Path’s self-destruction, could they have gotten in so many people like now?”

He quietly looked at the sky outside his beautiful white cottage, revealing a meaningful smile: ”A new world, a new starting point, of course, means new opportunities for them!”

”Ah...” ’Perfect Bald’ finally reacted, ”This time with a population of a million, their numbers aren’t small.”

”Didn’t only 100,000 just come in?” ’Young Master’ asked confused.

”Does your brain really not like working?” ’Perfect Bald’ said irritably, ”What was their ratio to our numbers before?

Even saying 1 to 1000 would be me understating.

Now?

Especially considering at least a third of our people won’t always follow us closely.

They won’t help the other side against us, and they will indeed lend a hand during battle, but they won’t always follow our commands.

Once the opposing side gains the upper hand, as long as they don’t jeopardize their daily lives, some will inevitably feel indifferent!

It’s just a game, not everyone will persist so firmly.”

”Ah... no wonder they’d attack from Road Eunuch’s end.” ’Young Master’ said in hindsight, ”If he turns against us, he could practically drag us down to the same level as Eden!

The gap between one-tenth and one-fifth looks big, but... if one-fifth still fights on both sides, then it’s... disastrous!”

”Road Eunuch isn’t too bad in this aspect.

He likes making money, but ultimately relies on credibility and reputation, so even if he doesn’t care what people say about him making money without remorse, he absolutely won’t lose his bottom line.

Bosses with no bottom line generally don’t dare to use them!

Also, his current boss is quite firm... as long as he keeps profiting, there shouldn’t be any problems.”

”No need to worry.” ’Young Master’ suddenly scratched his head, ”He paid off his debts and even bought a small house of over 200,000 in full to live in!”

”Hm?” ’Perfect Bald’ couldn’t resist looking at him, ”So soon? How high is his hiring fee!”

”Ah... it’s been so many years, huh!

Besides, he wasn’t in for much debt at the beginning!” ’Young Master’ said bewildered, ”Only a bit more than 3 million!”

”Shut up!” ’Mango’ couldn’t help but jump up and pat his chest, ”How are we supposed to live as workers! Huh? How to live!”

Snow Cloud Peak reluctantly raised his voice: ”End your internal conflict! Great Eunuch Lu won’t give us much time to discuss this... ah, he’s already on our family’s territory, taking a walk, arriving in 5 minutes.”

The issue with him can be temporarily put to rest.”

”Can I... ask how he manages to get along with Ambori?” Black and White Path’s manager asked softly.

”It’s a private matter, please discuss it separately... As to whether he’s willing to answer you, or plans to set you up later, please handle it yourself,” Snow Cloud Peak said without batting an eye. ”Of course, he’s more likely to ask you all about the Zholar Elves’ group dance and whether your feelings get directly shut down by William when you’re stuck together.”

The people of Black and White Path collectively turned pale and crouched in the corner, staying silent.

”May I come in?” came Lu Huayu’s voice from outside the white hall... Speaking of which, this guy can always maintain such a gentlemanly facade, even cursing people in a polite, yet piercing manner, truly admirable!

Snow Cloud Peak shook his head to clear away those distractions... Given the current situation, as long as Lu Huayu doesn’t do anything first, their Alliance will definitely choose to unite with him.

”No need to be so polite, at least for now, my door will always be open for you.”

How interesting!

Snow Cloud Peak smiled as he watched the carefree Lu Huayu stroll in, and quite liked Mr. Lu Huayu in his white robe... It’s uncertain if Great Eunuch Lu’s ambition really only remains about making money!

Indeed, compared to Toril’s need for unity, mainly dealing with life-and-death struggles with NPCs, the current situation of battling people is more suitable for him.

He sat on the couch in the middle of the hall, turning his head to reveal the warmest smile: ”So, they’re contacting you again?”

”Ah, after arriving in Toril, it’s actually been much less!” Lu Huayu sat on a single couch, speaking with a hint of laziness, ”Before, really, emails were overflowing daily, later after getting a fixed place, different beauties would always come looking... Fortunately, there’s a good boss who lets me avoid them when he has his eyes on a beauty.”

”You actually didn’t set them up?” Perfect Bald couldn’t believe it... Great Eunuch Lu not helping the other side is normal, but not even making money by selling some false information, how is that possible?

”Set up what!” Lu Huayu pouted, ”Who’s unaware of the crap going on with those people?

If I had any transaction recorded with them, they would record it as a trump card, constantly pushing me to go further... Ha~ In the end, they’d just freeload while I give away for free!

I only lack money, not intelligence.”

”You all better remember this,” Snow Cloud Peak said seriously, ”Don’t think that when photos are released from the other side, claiming you’re setting up in reverse, you’ll get away... Don’t believe that being an insignificant figure without a reputation means being safe like Great Eunuch Lu.

Public opinion isn’t always held by ordinary people, okay?

The term ’indefensible against slander’ has been useful throughout history.”

Young Master laughed: ”Looks like you’re sure they’re going to stage a comeback in this world!”

”Well... we’re not a family!” Snow Cloud Peak smiled slightly, ”This game, even the NPCs’ logical thinking is purely Eden-mode... Especially Toril, to those people, it’s simply their imagined perfect Fantasy World.

However, the game isn’t theirs, and the ones occupying higher positions aren’t them either.

As we take the greatest benefits from the game while ridiculing those NPCs as sick, their mentality is already unstable.

Just a little observation, anyone can sense that indignation.

You see, in their logic, the fact that this game wasn’t created by them doesn’t mean that we’ve enjoyed more just because we played first, nor will they leave just because they dislike that situation.

They’re always thinking about finding opportunities to make us lose our leading position.

So I hope you will pay attention to your family’s movements after returning... When they no longer regard this simply as a game, but as a weapon to surpass us, what they can do won’t be as simple as before.”

”Why...” Qiuqiu, standing at the side, asked confusedly, ”Why do they think that with 100,000 people they can have a chance of surpassing us?

After all, we could replenish our numbers at any time!”

”Because they think they understand the Moon Clan’s character better,” Snow Cloud Peak smiled lightly, ”So they’ll definitely find a way to delay the other side’s entry into this game... Maybe they’ve already done some preliminary planning.

If that’s the case, they could have an Eden in this world before our next batch comes in.

At that time, we can’t just ignore the Moon Clan and go fight them, right?”

”Why not?”

”Are you stupid? This expansion probably won’t start faction wars so soon! We’re on the same side, how can we fight?”

”Then why did Old Dog agree to let those two families into our camp?”

”No wonder someone would ask Susu if families that didn’t come can... Most of our PVE families here are still following Old Dog!

It’s them, fewer people came in from their side!
