Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1504: Chapter 82: Aesces’s Frustration

In the ignorance of Triton and Eosca within Aesces, and under Hill’s cold observation, they cautiously reached an agreement.

At first, Hill was a bit confused about why they chose to conspire on the planet rather than in the starry sky. After thinking for a while, he understood... First of all, the collaborator must have the capability to enter the world undetected by Aesces to be valuable in negotiations.

If they needed help, why would they look for someone to hold them back and share the spoils?

Moreover, if Eosca had found someone like Alexis inland, he wouldn’t have chosen to discuss countermeasures with Triton... For the same reason, Triton couldn’t extend his reach that far; why would he find an ally so early who couldn’t help?

Although he couldn’t understand these boring conspiracies at first, Hill felt he had improved a lot now... At least, he could figure things out on his own instead of depending on others’ analyses.

As for whether there are any omissions... It’s all those intrigues caused by uneven distribution of spoils, Hill only needs to know the result.

A neutral person, anything goes.

Fortunately, Aesces did not ask him to help guard the world for a while then, heh~ whether human or deity, one should never be too arrogant.

However, Hill didn’t think Eosca and Triton could completely overthrow Aesces... This was originally a high magic world, otherwise, Triton wouldn’t have set his sights on it back then.

But relying on Aesces’s management and scheming, that energy ultimately fed back to the world itself, and no longer dispersed to the world above. Even the energy that escaped and couldn’t be absorbed by him turned into crystal stones and minerals, instead of dispersing into the air, this World Master really tightly controlled his territory.

At most, they could cause him a bit of trouble, such as more powerful deities appearing in the world outside of his control, and the world might shift back to being a middle magic world due to the broken blockade.

Hmm... Hill paused for a moment, if that’s the case, who the mages would help seemed like an unknown!

Hill bowed his head and pondered for a while. All his previous calculations were based on Aesces suffering a bit at most, but not to the extent of complete destruction. But if the mages... Mages are indeed a difficult group to predict, whether they would betray their world for their own freedom is truly an unknown.

Hill looked at the sky in confusion.

Although the entanglement between him and Aesces was completely resolved by exposing the silk spider’s scandal, Aesces’s style of preparing to use the Human Kingdom as a test subject later wasn’t something he appreciated much, but seeing a world that was at least friendly to him at the start possibly heading towards destruction, he wasn’t quite able to just watch.

Hill smiled, hooked his finger at the silhouette of the two princes who had already left... The cliff on the seashore, which was heavily fortified, suddenly collapsed sideways.

The rumbling sound immediately drew the attention of Aesces, who still maintained some focus on Hill.

Then he quickly sensed the presence of Triton, and thereafter... the foreign presence, which he still recognized.

Thus, Aesces erupted in fury.

The white clouds in the sky turned pitch black, growing heavier, seemingly wanting to flatten the sea, fierce winds whipped up without mercy.

Hill blinked, raised his hand slightly, and lifted to his cloud a dozen century-old trees that were either uprooted or on the verge of breaking.

He felt the gazes of Triton and Eosca looking in from outside... But Aesces completely obscured Hill’s presence with the vast sky of dark clouds.

Though his style was hard to accept, surprisingly he was someone who would return what he borrowed!

Hill smiled, finally letting go of all the resentment accumulated from past events.

Triton and Eosca could only give a few more glances before completely giving up... After all, they were scheming against Aesces; it was not surprising that the world master directly sensed something amiss with slightly bad luck.

Managing to hold on for so many days and reaching a preliminary agreement was already quite an achievement.

Aesces’s discovery wasn’t a big deal; this was something they had mentally prepared for.

As for what would happen to Alexis, who betrayed Aesces, when he was discovered by the world master, no one cared; in fact, Eosca would even be happier with such an outcome... Alexis would no longer be his collaborator but could only rely on him for survival as a believer!

Hill silently glanced once at Basia City, sighed softly, and spoke to the sky gently: ”He just wanted to walk a tightrope, and didn’t really betray you... I don’t want anyone to lose their life because of what I do.

Only this once, if he violates your taboos again in the future, then I won’t intervene anymore.”

Hill kept silent about this matter all along for this reason... This was an internal affair of Aesces, and as an outsider, he didn’t want to get too involved.

But that was under the condition that Aesces could handle this matter.

Hill understood very well that the halo of the World Tree and the Goddess of the Earth on him predisposed many natural worlds to have a favorable impression of him innately... Don’t be fooled by all the scheming of Aesces; for these World Masters, not using Hill’s life as a pawn to lay out a conspiracy was already a very kind gesture.

Therefore, he only wanted to have a bit of a scuffle with Aesces, to let off some steam from being schemed against.

But being both of the earth, how could Hill remain silent as he watched Aesces face the threat of annihilation?

However, once he got involved, he was sure to affect the destinies of some people.

Hill sighed; he had already tried his best to avoid this, and besides, Aesces was only concerned with whether the world’s trend followed his will, not so much with individual destinies... Anyone could accomplish that; there was no completely predetermined candidate.

Matters as trivial as changing Ellie’s fate did not concern Aesces in the slightest, but this time, Hill understood very well that he had completely ended Alexis’s grand prospects... although the moment that guy chose to side with the Scaret People, his prospects were already nonexistent.

But at least he could have enjoyed some fleeting glory, perhaps even to the point where Aesces would swallow his pride due to the advantageous position... If Eosca really joined forces with Triton to change the nature of the world, how could Aesces, as World Master, have time to bother with a little bug?

But, how to put it~ Hill leaned back on the Cloud Ship, slowly flying home: as a Teraxil, and as one whose world was almost destroyed by the Elves and Dwarves working together, he felt a greater hostility toward the invaders!

The light rain gently brushed across his face... Aesces agreed with him.

However, he still took back the luck and fate he had once bestowed upon the prince, then resumed observing these princes of the Danboro Royal Family... Of course, now the fate lines of these princes had become very chaotic in the face of unexpected external enemies, even leaving him quite perplexed.

With the Moon Clan, Eosca, and a meddling Triton, Aesces could only distribute the reclaimed energy evenly among a few princes who had tenacity and seemed to have higher moral standards.

Hill smiled as he listened to the soft sigh beside his ear... From now on, Aesces would no longer think that strong ability alone was enough, even if someone’s character had slight flaws!

Then he discovered the cause and effect... For example, why had Prince Alexis, who had always behaved well, suddenly been tempted by the seductive glances from the Scaret People?

Aesces found that it was due to a few extra words with Ismael, which resulted in overwhelming pressure on Alexis, causing this prince, lacking strong guards and support, to panic and grab at anything he could. Afterward, Aesces quietly adjusted Alexis’s luck, which had been excessively tweaked due to a slight exertion of force, back to normal.

He couldn’t help but complain to Hill about Ismael’s big mouth, wondering if there’s something wrong with him.

Hill couldn’t help but tilt his head... Seriously?

Ismael was not stupid; he naturally knew his time left on the continent was limited... The more the Moon Clan expanded, as a Summoner, his reputation would inevitably grow firmer, and his authority naturally stronger.

The curses and awe from mortals could transform into power in the Fantasy World.

Even if Aesces wanted to deify Ismael, at most he could grant him a divinity like the God of Craftsmen, but how could he allow him to continue possessing such a terrifying presence in the mundane world?

Clearly, Ismael was making preparations for his departure... Otherwise, how could he allow the King of Danboro to be so arrogant before him?

It wasn’t like he hadn’t stormed into the Royal Palace to scold people before, but this time he was strangely keeping to the rules, so much that it made people uneasy... The Finch Family suddenly became so radical, feeling Ismael’s attitude was a bit frightening.

They probably all thought he was being directly controlled by Aesces, afraid they’d become puppets too.

Then, when you, as the World Master, told him who might become the future King of Danboro, how could Ismael, with countless children and not all gifted enough to become a Great Sage, not seize this opportunity?

For instance, his youngest son, who he was most indebted to and most loved, was currently in Basia City.

Aesces couldn’t understand and completely disagreed with what Hill said... How could Ismael love his youngest son most?

If you really love a person, shouldn’t you protect them in every possible way?

Yet from his observations, any harm anyone caused to Lucimar... whether they were Ismael’s own children or his beloved little lover, did not seem to result in any punishment!

Deductions of money or confinement for a few years, what the heck is that?

Listening to the crude words that spilled out uncontrollably from his mouth, Hill felt a bit baffled and asked, ”Why don’t you go deal with those two stowaways?”

Aesces quickly fell silent.

Hill couldn’t help but pause slightly: ”You can’t do it?”
