Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1531: Chapter 109: Magic Is His Path

Aesces later became so honest because he saw firsthand how troublesome Silk Spider truly was.

Although he was part of the Earth Deity System, his ability to deal with these subtle natural creatures was definitely inferior to Coron.

What’s more, Aesces’s Silk Spider was entirely flourishing... He couldn’t even deny it; the Elf Queen married to the Divine King definitely had issues before she left Aesces.

He wasn’t unable to use his Divine Power to overturn the entire world, but that would mean he must violate the Law he set... Aesces was unwilling to do that.

Maintaining the world at its current energy level was not easy... It required both opportunity and persistence.

So, in the face of Hill’s sarcasm, this World Master decided to change the subject: ”Triton, did you happen to encounter Rose?

Catching the timing so perfectly!”

Having struck himself, he certainly knew who was opposite.

Rose had just dissipated... Even though her trace of Divine Soul still remained with Aesces, after being crushed by him, she would need to gather energy for a period to reorganize her avatar... Triton then activated the war mode, making Aesces suspect they had teamed up.

If that’s the case... coupled with Eosca, it’s indeed somewhat troublesome.

Hill frowned at the Hall of Abundance, which was gradually collapsing due to the war between the Moon Clan and the Undead Tribe, and shook his head: ”How could I possibly know?

You should be more familiar with that Sea God!”

”Actually... at the start, I wasn’t so against the Ocean God of other worlds entering my world,” Aesces pondered before speaking, ”Although everyone curses the AO Multiverse of Toril, but... by doing so, one can avoid being bound to this Universe.

Generally speaking, for World Masters like us, if we can’t save the world from collapsing, the outcome is miserable.

Especially for beings like us, who are the existence of the world itself, becoming an irrational Wild God is a good ending.

Therefore, there are beings like us, striving to control the future of the world, while some World Masters attempt to be less closely tied to the world they were born from.

Didn’t you see Eosca?

He destroyed so many Universes completely that he didn’t become a Wild God but was able to seize other Universes again.

It’s because he turned his birth Universe into his companion Divine Artifact... Otherwise, even if he died in Mark City, such situations where everything turns into a Portal wouldn’t occur.

But World Masters who are as cruel to themselves as he is are rare.

AO is the pursuit of many Deities, but unfortunately, without his strength, one might burn himself.

For example, Triton who came to my world.

I am willing to accept his arrival, but it doesn’t mean I am willing to have my intellect erased and be completely controlled by him... Their God System seems particularly greedy.

Later I inquired about it, they either get completely suppressed or cause the world that welcomes them to pit itself.”

”Later?” Hill muttered, ”Wasn’t this something that should have been done from the beginning?”

Not even inquiring before letting him in... Hill seemed to understand why the beloved ones of fate in this world were all like Ellie and Ismael!

Aesces felt a bit embarrassed and said, ”I just thought of trying it first with the Water Element!

We in the Earth Deity System wouldn’t fear the Water God, right?

If anything happened, even if the Water God exploded... I have ways to resolve it, right?

Inquiring too much might not be good either, what if the other side is really a good person?

I’m not as... determined as AO.”

Hill silently rolled his eyes... This guy didn’t have good intentions at the start, trying to learn from AO to trick the Exterior Gods!

Really, none of them are good.

It’s just a pity for the mortals of this world who have to bear sacrificial heads and shed hot blood because of one experiment.

”Look, it’s not like I didn’t try to compensate, souls of Ismael’s level are not that easy to obtain!” Aesces couldn’t help explaining for himself.

Although Hill wasn’t a Deity, his bloodline decided that all Earth Deity System and Natural Divine System beings inherently favored him and saw him as one of their own.

Aesces didn’t care about being criticized, but he still hoped Hill wouldn’t misunderstand him as no different from AO.

There is a difference! Really!

Faced with no other choice, he definitely wouldn’t choose to restart his world.

Deciding to directly turn billions of beings into ash is something average people indeed find hard to decide, not to mention doing it multiple times like Toril!

Just one Triton made him so difficult, how could he continue to follow that path?

Hill helplessly shook his head: ”Has the Scaret army only come to Basia City?”

”How is that possible?” Aesces sneered, ”Not only that, but even Danboro, the desert there has started having problems.

However, now it’s only localized rain, although it’s a violent rainstorm.”

”Rainfall greatly affects Moonlight, doesn’t it?” Hill couldn’t help but remind.

Knowing full well that the Undead Tribe is present in every city, why would Triton still send his followers to their deaths?

But if it’s merely to divert attention from Aesces, he likely wouldn’t mind wasting money and time.

The Scaret People must be so compliant as to mobilize their entire army, assured that their Main God does not intend to send them to die.

Aesces was a bit puzzled: ”With the Undead Tribe present, the damage from the Silk Spider has been suppressed to the lowest level.

Could someone else be targeting me?

Strange...when did my world become so enticing?”

Hill moved his mouth, ultimately giving up on speaking... Aesces, who has gathered most of the world’s energy, is indeed a tempting target!

If he were really forced to release the swallowed energy, everyone in this world would benefit.

And the benefit depends on one’s ability to absorb energy.

The deities would undoubtedly gain the most.

Aesces understands this point...he just doesn’t want to say it, nor does he want others to realize his reluctance.

Hill can sense that his question should have been an exclamation.

This individual’s inner self is quite calm... The solid and weighty Earth Deity rightfully shouldn’t be as outwardly jittery as Aesces appears...there’s no feeling of panic.

Aesces, the World Master, truly broadened Hill’s horizons.

The multifaceted nature of deities appeared vividly for the first time before him.

Every facet is truly him, with nothing false, but beneath the chaotic surface lies absolute rationality...does the path of deities ultimately lead to such beings?

Previously, Hill thought that if he couldn’t continue on the path of the Mage, becoming a deity wouldn’t be so bad.

Teraxil had given him ample confidence to consider this.

However, at this moment, Hill finally understood that he and the path of deities have already diverged.

He is unwilling to change himself due to any external force.

Nor does he wish to become like this, entangled in layers of bizarre facades.

Aesces soon departed...he is going to confront Triton.

Outside Basia City, the sea is in turmoil.

The storm is about to come.

The Scaret Navy always arrives riding the waves, accompanied by terrifying storms and thunder.

Aesces’ resisters must endure the storm’s onslaught every time before they can battle the Scaret soldiers.

Always fighting with discounted strength against inherently strong enemies, naturally makes the resistance difficult.

Fortunately, the reaction of the Undead Tribe is faster...even faster than Scaret anticipated.

In the calculations of Scaret’s priests and mages, the combat power of the Undead Tribe should be one-third higher than the Moon Clan...they calculated this based on the Undead Tribe’s surprise attack on Eosca Island that day.

However, they don’t understand that the Moon Clan often exaggerates the number of their enemies...especially when they suffer disastrous defeats.

They certainly know that all of Basia City’s Undead Tribe didn’t participate at that time, but amidst the Moon Clan’s gesticulating and cursing, Scaret’s think tank deduced that at least 80,000 Undead Tribe members had raided Eosca Island.

And the Moon Clan’s negligence in protecting their frail female kin led to the successful ambush...yet, a few of them heroically fought back and drove the Undead back into the sea.

Unfortunately, the resurrection time after battle deaths was too long, preventing them from achieving better results before the battle ended.

But it was merely a narrow defeat.

Scaret naturally considered their exaggerations, but due to the Moon Clan minimizing the number of daytime kills and exaggerating the nighttime casualties among airborne parasol troops, they made a wrong judgment.

In the Scaret’s calculation center, the Moon Clan should be able to drag most of the Undead Tribe to death in the battle at Basia City...then the Undead Tribe wouldn’t have time to appear at the port.

Then they could seize the opportunity to wipe out Basia’s elite army!

However, once it was confirmed that Basia was about to be invaded by external forces, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ had already commanded several elite legions to withdraw from the Hall of Abundance’s battlefield, directly instructing Ditte to take them to join the garrison.

As for these legions, the Moon Clan in the Hall of Abundance who came to die is just the appetizer...as for the remaining stragglers, let the Scattered Ones and the PvE family practice with them.

It’s a habit formed over many years, and all forces are familiar with it...switching smoothly between them.

The Moon Clan, though they can sense the enemy losing a bit of strength, unlike the earlier forces that oppressed them relentlessly, the joy of counterattacking made them completely forget Scaret’s request to prolong the fight.

Since they’re not devoid of warriors, right?

Indeed, they did help hold off many people!

As for the Scaret Navy’s disbelief when encountering a group of enemies daring enough to rush onto the sea surface and beat them...what does that have to do with them?
