Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1532: Chapter 110: Scaret’s Objective

The 18th Prince of Scaret looked solemnly at the undead tribe that charged through the deadly storm waves onto the warship.

”The Moon Clan... really of no use,” he murmured softly, ”Fortunately, this time, only the warriors nearing the end of their lifespan were sent out.”

The most terrifying thing about Scaret is that as long as they become battle professionals of the Sea God Temple, they only begin to age during the last ten years before death... This is because they received Triton’s blessing through the altar.

The reason Aescian strictly prevents the spread of this Ocean God belief is due to this particular divine altar blessing.

When belief is confined within Scaret’s own territory, the number of these battle professionals is naturally limited.

As for why the native Aescian won’t secretly offer faith to the Ocean God to exchange for this seemingly powerful ability... Of course, it’s because those without Scaret bloodline simply can’t.

And risking the annihilation of their entire tribe to secretly bear children with Scaret bloodline... it doesn’t grant them eternal youth, does it?

Moreover, after advancing to a Scaret warrior, lifespan is not endless, but only up to 150 years.

A Level 1 mage who maintains well could live to that age easily, but even intermediate battle professionals of the Sea God Temple can only live that long; it is a profession that can never surpass Level 10.

Even Scaret people themselves only choose to try the temple when it’s not possible to become mages or clerics.

But for nations that oppose Scaret, these powerful warriors, who can even serve in the army for 100 years with very rich combat experience, are indeed a very troublesome threat.

The 18th Prince is arguably the person from Scaret who has the most contact with the Moon Clan, even though he returned to his country a few days ago to the temple to comprehend the Sea God’s will...The most important thing is establishing an Ocean Temple on Eosca Island.

This is why Triton is willing to cooperate with this God of Portals.

For many years, the power of the Ocean Temple has failed to enshroud Danboro’s coast, which greatly displeases Triton.

Those who do not honor the ocean have no right to reap benefits from the sea!

Hmm...

Though it’s somewhat unbelievable, their beloved Triton is just that petty... The 18th Prince thought of the materials prepared in his ring for building the temple and felt a bit helpless.

Honestly, what’s the big deal about Danboro people eating some sea fish?

”Raymond.”

”What’s the matter, Grandfather?”

”What are you rambling about again?” The Scaret High Priest appeared with a look of helplessness. ”Have you forgotten, as the heir with the most concentrated Scaret Royal Bloodline, thinking too hard might get sensed by the devout priests of the Sea God?”

The most important thing is... if the Sea God is watching Raymond at the time, that would be a public declaration!

Even though Triton unexpectedly really likes the always critical Raymond, as a spectator, the High Priest truly doesn’t want to meddle in their exchanges.

”Ah...” Raymond stretched his arms toward the stormy sea, ”Although these warriors voluntarily left their lives in the ocean in exchange for greater benefits on Eosca Island for us,

I’m still not too happy.”

”Their hair is already half-grey,” the High Priest said softly, ”Being able to fight for Triton in the last period of life and even having the chance to enter our Lord’s Divine Kingdom is an immense honor for these brave warriors.

After all, Scaret people have always been the whales of the sea.”

Raymond turned to look at him, ”With our frail bodies, giving back to the sea that nurtured us is only natural.

I am just unhappy that to others, their valor is merely a game.”

They’ve long understood how the Moon Clan views Aescians.

Compared to the undead tribe behaviors reported back from Basia’s intelligence personnel, this group of Moon Clan... are practically a combination of demons and devils.

Ah, no, that’s too insulting to devils.

But in Raymond’s eyes, the undead tribe is merely a slightly better version of the Moon Clan.

Every Scaret warrior they cut down and kill might be regarded as less than wildgrass in their hearts.

”Raymond,” the High Priest considered for a few seconds before speaking, ”I didn’t expect you would possess the heart of a king so early.

Our Lord’s insight is truly beyond us mortals.

Ah... it’s delightful that you understand the warriors’ sentiments.

And even so, you haven’t recalled these warriors out of your own reluctance and sadness... though the warriors likely won’t think the same way you do.

Death is unavoidable, and being able to use the last of their lives to strive for better benefits for their family and descendants or even have a chance at immortality, what does it matter to be underestimated by opponents?

Do you know how many warriors around 120 years old wish they also had this opportunity?

”Their limits have already been reached, and Scaret has not engaged in formal warfare for many years. For warriors eager for military glory, this opportunity is simply a dream come true!”

He glanced down at Raymond’s large, veiny hand gripping the ship’s railing, and lightly patted his shoulder: ”At least you won’t let your personal feelings dictate that warriors abandon their pursuits, which proves you’ve matured considerably.

Henceforth, Scaret warriors will once again have the chance to strive for glory... My Lord’s temple appears so close to the mainland, Aesces will certainly urge the mainland countries to go all out in battle.

The Undead Tribe... As long as the Moon Clan is present, the target won’t be us.

Moreover... heh~ they have even more terrifying enemies waiting behind them.

As long as they can’t overwhelm us in numbers, Scaret warriors never back down!”

Raymond nodded resolutely: ”But, will Aesces...”

The World Master’s greatest ability is to overturn everything. Triton used to be very cautious, always operating beneath Aesces’ threshold, isn’t it just because he hopes not to waste previous efforts?

The Scaret Royal Family, even if it comes to the final moment, could still be reclaimed by Triton to the Divine Kingdom, but what of those devoted people loyal to the Royal Family and deities?

”Triton merely knows what’s happening and helps the other side slightly, allowing them a loophole to exploit,” the High Priest looked at the shimmering Shield of the Sea God outside the ship and smiled slightly, ”But he wouldn’t genuinely collaborate with the other side.

Aesces may despise Eosca like a drowning dog, but wouldn’t completely sever ties; he might try to see if he can make the God of Portals his own hound.

But such enemies, truly evil ones, if they show signs of collaboration with My Lord, who knows... might he truly cause the world to reboot, returning to chaos?”

”I still don’t understand why he insists knowing Triton will surely battle him again sooner or later?” Fully aware of what level of deity Triton is, Raymond was somewhat puzzled by why Aesces was so bold.

”Endless life grants him the patience to see what consequences this mistake will ultimately bring.

Later he’ll create Ismael, isn’t it because things have already come to this point anyway, he’ll simply see if another route works?

Even as mighty as Triton is, he dares not go too far,” the High Priest said deeply, ”Aesces’ trump card isn’t so easily controlled.

He is the Earth Deity, as long as Triton cannot instantly turn the entire world into an ocean, he can directly reboot the world.”

Raymond shook his head, then his eyes fixed towards Basia City: ”Damn it, knowing these Moon Clan are useless, but this, just too useless?

So quickly, the entire army was annihilated?”

He fiercely slapped the ship’s railing: ”This time, we truly suffered a terrible loss!

This was the most advanced warship! Damn, Danboro’s Finch really charged out!”

”If Aesces doesn’t see our substantial losses, how could he agree to establish the Sea God Temple?” The High Priest said sternly, ”Sacrifice is valuable.

Moreover, the Ship Technology Department said even better ships will be launched within two years.

It’s another path, Danboro here wishes to rely on analyzing this batch of ships to counter our latest battleships, that simply... isn’t just a failure!

Don’t focus on immediate interests!”

”I know.” Raymond said hesitantly, ”Sigh... it’s just a pity that if the young lady from the Stelter Family truly loved me, it would be wonderful.

She’s so foolish... pure, we wouldn’t have needed such a great sacrifice!”

”Raymond...” The High Priest sighed, ”Please, don’t learn this aspect from My Lord, okay?”

Really... everything about the Scaret Royal Family is fine, except for their tendency to target women, which is constraining.

Of course, this might also relate to his daughter being used as a pawn.

Otherwise, as a High Priest of the Sea God, why would he need to serve the Royal Family, even as the future king’s shadow?

But isn’t he his own grandson?

Thinking of this made the High Priest feel uncomfortable, shaking his sleeves as he walked into the cabin.

After all, this ship is under Triton’s protection; no one can detect their presence, just let Raymond stew there to motivate himself!

As the future Scaret King, witnessing the great sacrifice of these warriors firsthand is what he should do.

After watching the excitement, Hill, planning to return to the Magic Tower, suddenly glanced at the coastal battle... He felt something was amiss.

Why was the life force of the Scaret soldiers all grayish-white?

Even if they inevitably faced death due to the failed assault on Danboro, it shouldn’t be during battle that such constant leaking of life force occurs?

Believing Scaret had cooperated with an Evil God, Hill instantaneously steeled himself, focusing intently on observing the maritime battlefield.
