Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1527: Chapter 105: Why Did She Come?

Paris nodded with a grim face: ”I understand.”

”Don’t worry, Young Master Lind.” Ted gently comforted the somewhat bewildered Lind, ”You did very well; these clues are enough to find her!

Rest assured, she can’t be as strong as she seems, otherwise she wouldn’t just be sneaking around impersonating Paris.”

Ted and Count Stelter exchanged a glance... They both knew that someone who can easily beat the already intermediate Ditte to this state, dealing with Level 10 Paris is not that challenging.

The challenge lies in maintaining the disguise.

This shows that her disguise cannot last too long, or may have some flaws... And the maids brought into the castle by the Stelter Family to work have been with them for three generations, Ted and Paris know each of their names and appearances.

Paris understands this herself, so she would certainly start checking from the lower-level maids who don’t often appear in front of everyone.

For example, those kitchen maids who specialize in slaughtering chicken, duck, fish, and cleaning the cutting board.

Their job seems very simple, besides this task they don’t need to do anything else... but providing food for so many people in the castle takes a considerable amount of time and consumes a lot of physical strength.

So basically, as long as they finish their work, they can go back to rest.

Although when working, there are more senior kitchen maids supervising them, they generally don’t pay attention to the appearance of the sturdy maids.

Then there are the garden sweeping maids... these maids living in the castle basement are generally left alone once their identities are confirmed.

They are not allowed to enter the upper levels of the castle, let alone approach the masters... And the guards of the Stelter Family are always at a high level, the castle has many arrays to verify the identity of entrants.

Thus, negligence occurred in the least likely place.

Helena frowned as she walked directly to the side of the living room wall, her fingers slightly moved as she tore off a piece of wooden wallpaper: ”The alchemy array hasn’t failed.

This means the array actually judged her to be Paris?

How was it done?”

”She doesn’t seem human.” Dieter, having drunk Holy Water, slowly regained himself, ”That whip she struck me with... cough cough... felt like the hairs on a spider’s claw.”

”What?” Count Stelter exclaimed in surprise, ”Silk spider?”

”How is that possible?” Helena’s wallpaper slipped to the floor, ”Our castle walls used Moonlight Stones!

How did she get in?”

”That only proves her ability surpassed the suppression of Moonlight Stones!

The mastermind behind this?” Count Stelter spoke softly, ”Because we discovered silk spiders here and found a way to control them, they came for a look?”

”She spoke of our family, no wonder that child... spoke highly of us... I think she was referring to the Great Sage Belfran.”

”What?” Ellie, robed in her morning dress, followed behind Yanos as they rushed in, the mage still holding a bag of alchemy potions... Looks like this girl rushed to the underground castle to seek help.

She probably encountered Paris when she noticed something was wrong and rushed up, otherwise Yanos wouldn’t have known to bring healing potions.

”Ah... I’m just feeling a bit of recoil... can’t quite recover.” Facing the worried gazes of her family, Ellie muttered.

”She also mentioned, whether something is wrong with this world...” Lind, uninterested in his oblivious sister, continued to furrow his brows in recollection, ”That’s the implication, back then I was scared to death, afraid she might realize I was awake... Luckily...”

Originally, he intended to pretend to be asleep to avoid Dieter’s long monologue and strict reprimand... His big brother was really capable of turning someone over and over if he was unhappy... Unexpectedly, it created a problem.

Yanos half-knelt beside Dieter to check on this unlucky young master, then pulled out a potion and poured it down his throat.

Dieter couldn’t help but let out a ’ugh~’.

”Don’t vomit... Though this medicine tastes like smelly socks, its effect is truly excellent, it’s the best bone healing medicine.” Yanos pressed his shoulder down, ”Hold on! If it weren’t for worrying about a fight later, I wouldn’t be giving you such precious potion.”

Lind displayed a satisfied smile... Professor Yanos’s method of administering medicine is even harsher than Dieter’s.

Dieter groaned, but he indeed felt a lot better: ”Damn... it feels like hell, do I have to wear armor even at home from now on?”

Then he stopped complaining and began to retell the events to his family in detail.

”Although I’m moved by your trust in me... But, you reacted to this person’s anomaly much quicker than expected... It’s a bit surprising.

Normally, you should probe further to determine if the other party truly has issues.

You aren’t someone who trusts others easily... At least you would first doubt whether Paris had betrayed the family.” Count Stelter slowly spoke.

”I dropped Lind on the sofa, he was slowly sliding down, I saw Aunt Paris, felt a bit guilty, so I turned around wanting to put him back on the sofa.” Dieter scratched his head, ”Then she said Lind can’t drink alcohol, and Lind bit me.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t have reached for the sword.”

”You...” Count Stelter gave his shoulder a heavy pat, ”Remember to sound an alarm next time you make a move.”

”No point in that.” Lind whispered, ”The sound of Dieter being struck was loud, but there was no reaction outside.”

”Strange... Who is this person?” Ted pulled out a thick beast-skin book, flipping through it furiously, ”Even the Dwarves have no information!”

”Go tell the Rune Lord Church,” Yanos frowned, ”If they’re elves’ enemies, that’s not something we can handle.”

Then he softly added, ”But if it’s truly an enemy on that deity level, we don’t need to bother... Sounds like she was taken care of after the World Master discovered her.”

”There’s a missing female skinner.” Paris silently appeared in the living room, ”I’ve ordered some hunting dogs to search around the castle area to see if we can find her body.”

”Best to determine how many days she’s been sneaking around!”

”Hmm?” Ditte pondered for a moment and suddenly said, ”Hmm... I remember our family’s hunting dogs eat raw meat?”

”Ah...” Paris opened her mouth slightly, ”I understand, I’ll take people to investigate right away.”

”What are you talking about?” Ellie glanced around, suddenly leaned over the table, and started vomiting... It seems she was just slow to react rather than not understanding.

”Damn it!” Lind cursed, ”My dogs!”

In the Stelter Family, he’s the only one who stayed with those giant hunting dogs for years.

Although the Stelter Family often tends to act fiercely, they wouldn’t let dogs who have tasted human flesh stay close to their children.

Even if these dogs aren’t disposed of, they can only be locked in the underground fortress’s peripheral tunnels... which are essentially underground pipes, to prevent anyone from entering the castle from there, with illusions and killing arrays specially installed... From then on, they can only survive in those narrow, windowless tunnels, never given a chance to meet their own people again.

Though they’ll still be fed, they’ll never see daylight again.

”I...” He suddenly stood up.

”No going!” Countess Stelter coldly spoke, ”Ditte is so seriously injured, and you... do you want to die?”

”I’ll take a look.” Count Stelter spoke with a steely face, ”Yanos, can you go with me?”

”Okay.” Yanos stood up, ”Though I think the opponent probably won’t appear again... Once Aesces notices her, she won’t be easy to deal with.

But, it’s better to check the castle area first.”

”Should we notify Great Sage Belfran?” Ellie opened her mouth in confusion, head down, ”I don’t intend to go myself, just... think... should... say something.”

Ditte stood up, ”The patrol guard is still waiting for me at the gate.

Anyway, my injury is healed.

I’ll go tell the Undead Tribe at the camp.”

He thought again, looking at Ellie softly speaking, ”There are tens of thousands in the Undead Tribe who can see the Great Sage.”

”I said I won’t go again.” Ellie kicked at her sleepwear tangled on the carpet, ”Though whenever there’s an issue, I think of him, but I, I also won’t send my face over for a beating.”

”Though I’m satisfied with your reaction.” Yanos calmly spoke, ”But I disagree with your words.

You’re clearly slapping yourself, Ellie.

Someone like Great Sage Belfran, normally, wouldn’t even spare you a glance.

What’s the status of a level 1 mage? Better than an apprentice, that’s all.

Even Luximar wouldn’t bother.”

Ellie pursed her lips, ”I... don’t want to hear this; anyway, I won’t go find him, isn’t that enough?”

Yanos shook his head and left following the silent Count Stelter.

Hill soon received the news from the Undead Tribe.

He didn’t need to think much, directly making the judgment: Rose is here.

Those three words for ’child’ aren’t something anyone could say... Not even Rose’s most trusted Wax Melt Demon could.

Though Rose is the Lord of the Abyss, she actually demands stricter identity and status.

The Wax Melt Demon can curse Hill, can act against Hill, but would never publicly dare assume an elder role to Hill.

Speaking of which, Rose knew Hill long before Coron.

Hill pondered Rose’s attitude, feeling something was off.

Why did she visit Aesces for the Stelter Family?

The issue with the mutated silk spider was clearly exposed because of Hill!

This, Rose should have known with her first glance at Hill.

What could the Stelter Family possibly have to attract her personally?
