Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1551: Chapter 129: Ellie, Is Something Wrong?

“Raymond, accept the loss with grace.” The Great Sage of Scaret spoke impassively as he tried to calm Prince Scaret, who was pacing in the temple hall.

“Damn it! Even if I swallow this, what about the future?” Raymond clenched his fists, staring at the chaos outside among his subordinates. “Fortunately, since it was a military transport, only the newly appointed fleet commanders were sent, so I haven’t suffered a critical blow.

Yet… even for me, I only receive so many new recruits from the army each year!

An entire annihilation!

How do I account for this to the armies they came from?

The last time there was such a significant loss was during wartime!

Damned it…

Next year they definitely won’t give me any!”

“You were too careless, who can you blame?” The Great Sage said with a serious tone, “You’ve seen too much of the Moon Clan, so you underestimated those Undead Tribe across from you!

Otherwise, how could you ignore such a serious matter?

Their efforts in building long dams and planting vines before the war were certainly not simple!

Moreover, the blessing from the Sun God, you saw it yourself, it was you who believed the ship wouldn’t make landfall, thinking nothing major would happen, right?

But when did one of the truths of war not involve crippling the opponent’s logistics?

Transport ships and vehicles have always been the primary targets for attacks, haven’t they?

You still underestimated the Undead Tribe, which is why you were dismissive.

So, do you regret it now?

Not listening to advice, brought this upon yourself!”

Raymond’s head hung down, chastened, “It was my fault… I won’t do it again.”

Then he pressed his lips tightly, watching the Moon Clan running back and forth outside the temple, shouting yet refusing to rush across in their own way to fight the enemy: “I really don’t understand why our side is the Moon Clan?

Why doesn’t Triton choose the Undead Tribe?

Leaving the Moon Clan to Aesces wouldn’t be better?

Look at them! Grandfather… they are beaten so badly, yet their first reaction is to flee, rather than swim across themselves to fight to the death!

They won’t die!

Triton even gave them the blessing that they wouldn’t drown and that their swimming speed would accelerate!

How could they be so…”

“The world the Undead Tribe hails from follows orders more strictly.” The Great Sage spoke softly, “They absolutely don’t partake in Godly work involving invading other worlds.”

Raymond turned his head sharply, “But we Scarret people were born in this world! This world acknowledges our existence!”

“Yes… but having principles doesn’t mean we are righteous.”

“Righteousness? What is that?” Raymond laughed, “Isn’t having a bigger fist real righteousness?”

“We follow Triton’s laws, naturally, they have their own laws too.” The Great Sage smiled, “You may not agree with it, but you can’t oppose it.

As you said, a bigger fist is the truth.

Opposing it is useless, the Undead Tribe across would still not work for Scaret.

The deity they worship would rather cooperate with the opportunistic Aesces… because he belongs to this world.”

Raymond sat heavily on the window sill, looking desolate, “But, what use are these cowardly Moon Clan?”

“Are you getting something wrong?” The Great Sage quietly looked at him, “Triton’s goal was never to make Scaret the king of the world, nor for himself to become the sole True God of this world.

He is not foolish.

The promises he made to the previous Goddess of the Sea, Triton has completed them all… even exceeded his promises, look at the trouble Aesces is having now!

See, hasn’t he started valuing that Goddess of the Sea?

Wanting the World Master to not look at her with pity and sympathy even if she suffered great losses is indeed reasonable!

So now, Triton doesn’t necessarily intend to win this war, do you understand?

We are children of the sea.

As for the land… well, if possible, it’s naturally best if they bow to Scaret, but if it can’t be done, it’s not an unacceptable result either.

Young man, don’t let the recent trends lead you to believe you’re the future king of the world.”

“Heh~” a snort came from the side.

“Ah… Your Highness Alexis, do you have any different insights?” Raymond turned to look at the man in a white priest’s robe standing at the side hall door of the temple.

As a Witness to the collaboration between the God of Portals and the Ocean God, this Prince Danboro was left at Triton’s temple.

Triton naturally wouldn’t allow Eosca’s divine soul to remain in his temple, so Alexis has already regained his sanity.

However, for Prince Danboro, this awakening at this time has completely lost its meaning.

Now, he is a drifting man without a home, a country, or even a place to call his own.

Yet, he still doesn’t want to die.

Alexis silently stayed in the side hall, wandering around the temple like a spectre every day.

Occasionally, when overhearing conversations from Raymond and others, his expression didn’t look good.

But, he still spoke for the first time.

Raymond was a bit surprised.

“You’ve been influenced by Wendy,” Alexis said indifferently, “that Wind Fairy, the breeze always surrounding her, seems capable of dissolving a person’s will.”

“So, you…”

“I’m indeed greedy, but as princes who have received formal royal education, you should understand that greed has grades.

Our lives are the most important.

Then comes the right of succession to the throne.

Wealth, of course, is important, but inherently below these two.

I couldn’t just sign a contract like Ellie at the sight of a masterless fairy without checking it over a dozen times, using my soul power directly?

But at that time, I lost my sanity and really didn’t care about anything.

I exaggerated my feelings of greed.

That Wind Fairy… isn’t she disguised as a Goddess of Desire?”

“Ah… So, it means I quite want to be the World Master! It’s just that my sanity tells me it’s impossible, so I usually don’t go crazy,” Raymond suddenly sighed, “No wonder Triton always says I resemble their family’s child!”

Alexis looked at him coldly and turned back to the side hall.

“It seems this Prince Danboro is quite grateful to Triton for helping him escape from those two Exterior Gods; otherwise, he wouldn’t have reminded you.” The Great Sage smiled and said.

“Triton and Scaret, though they’ve always been enemies of Danboro.” Raymond turned his head and smiled, “But, we’ve dealt with each other for tens of thousands of years, what counts as an Exterior God?

If Aesces could come in just like that, then what for Triton’s efforts over the years?”

The Great Sage stroked his beard: “So, what are you planning to do? The Moon Clan clearly isn’t planning to take risks with insufficient ships.”

“Then let’s wait until evening! New ships coming in will be at dusk anyway!

Then automatically locate and let the new ships run themselves, better to lose money, can’t afford to lose more men!” Raymond sighed, “I might as well go meditate in the quiet room under the statue for a while, clear my soul, avoid really being tempted into thinking I can reign supreme!

Luckily my desire for the throne isn’t that strong.”

The Great Sage looked at him: “You should understand that once you give up absolute control over the Moon Clan, there will be other nobles trying to interfere, right?”

Even if Scaret’s royal power is not to be shaken, capable nobles will still try to seek more power.

As long as one is human, inevitably unsatisfied, nothing unusual about that.

“No problem…” Raymond’s speed was fast, already walking towards the rear hall door, “The Moon Clan doesn’t suit my character, whoever wants to come can come!

Heh~ as long as they understand, don’t come crying to me.”

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ raised his binoculars in confusion: “My bears~ Are they not coming now?

Such a cowardly retreat too swiftly!”

‘Susu’ suddenly widened her eyes: “Old Dog, what do you think are the chances Hill is not watching here?”

“Hill would never bother with our sudden madness!

He always only watches the results.” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ unhappily tossed away the binoculars, “A lot of things have to be recalculated again!

It’s really annoying…”

‘Lu Huayu’ touched his tablet, “Nishang told me Ellie ordered a lot of Elf Wind clothes and jewelry.”

“Hmm?” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ turned to look at him, unable to help but sigh, “My bears~ the first suitor she met is so shameless… bear cubs probably long overdue!”

“Is there something wrong with Ellie?” ‘Susu’ frowned and asked, “Although I haven’t seen that girl much, she seems to be a pretty standard noble lady.

The kind who gives you a look, hoping you’ll pursue her, that reserved lady.

If the man is uninterested, although she may feel sad, muster the courage to try twice is her limit!

I think three days ago Ellie was still like this… though still self-pitying from heartbreak, even looking sorrowfully at Hill’s Magic Tower, it was clear she planned to give up!

She was already working on rebuilding her Hall of Abundance by then!

Unlike now… why does she seem like an infatuated flower girl lost in thought?”
