Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1522: Chapter 100: The Grass-Planting Undead Tribe

’Snow Cloud Peak’ gently closed his eyes... It was the first time he felt that the expectant gaze of the Alliance members was somewhat heavy.

After all, he’s always had a strong endurance and never feared losing.

But this time, ’Snow Cloud Peak’, who always believed his willpower was strong enough to withstand anything, felt a bit at a loss.

How should I put it... he isn’t unreasonable, right?

He absolutely doesn’t want the friendly relationship with Hill to be disrupted because of their reckless speculation.

As for saying Hill is childish and the like, it doesn’t matter. They’ve said it to his face before. Ever since learning that all his blood relatives were of what race, Hill has completely given up struggling... After all, even an Earth Bear at a few thousand years old is still a cub.

But with this issue of Ellie... if Hill really has some relation with this lady, their secretive plotting is indeed a bit underhanded.

Such matters can’t be easily brushed aside by Hill saying ’it’s not to do with her’... The only consolation is that once they speak about anything outside of the game, their vocal translators automatically stop working.

Unless Hill understands Mandarin... Whew... thankfully he doesn’t.

”Sorry, Mr. Hill, we shouldn’t have recklessly speculated without asking you first.” He thought about it and decided to be sincere. After all, even though not face-to-face, he doesn’t intend to lie.

With his keen intuition, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ had long realized that Hill is able to discern whether their Undead Tribe is lying.

And whether distance affects judgment... For such an powerful Mage, what counts as far? What counts as close?

Then, filled with regret, he said, ”We shouldn’t have attempted to deal with her before confirming the relationship between Mr. Hill and Ellie, nor should we have coldly watched her being plotted against.

This is indeed our fault.

Sometimes, we tend to overlook emotional matters due to competitiveness, and I hope you can forgive us.

This will never happen again.

I promise.”

”Forget it... there’s no point in me dwelling on this.” Hill shrugged helplessly, ”So, why are there such odd rumors?

I thought those in Basia City were aware of my dealings with the Stelter Family.

You should know I only trade with those who meet my standards.

Just because I approve of them, doesn’t mean I like them.”

”It’s the Mages from the Basia Alchemist Association who have been secretly gossiping, and they do it behind people’s backs.” ’Perfect Bald’ suddenly spoke, ”You know our Undead Tribe—if they don’t want us to know, it makes us want to find out even more.

It seems that when Prince Alexis was around, he pursued Ellie and was openly rejected.

Then the Prince asked if it was because of Grand Mage Belfran... and said she wouldn’t stand a chance.

But Ellie herself claimed she felt she had a chance.

Alexis then asked if Great Sage Belfran had given her any hints... she seemed to always be smiling.

Wasn’t it during the building of Stelter Castle?

Although they found a secluded corner to communicate, they ignored the few Alchemists in the Underworld constructing secret rooms.

So...

Though we all found it unbelievable, considering Hill’s standards, why would he be interested in a woman who doesn’t even measure up to a tenth of his appearance? But in this world, what can’t happen!

Moreover, according to our Undead Tribe’s custom... feelings are personal matters, and others can’t intervene.

So our first reaction wasn’t to confirm with you but to handle it ourselves... That was our mistake, forgetting the difference between friends and outsiders.

Really sorry, Mr. Hill.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ quietly stared at Perfect Bald’s lengthy speech, and when looking up, saw Lu Huayu’s peculiar expression.

He then could only manage a polite and awkward smile.

Road Eunuch indeed guessed it! Of course, after battling Black Rose for so many years, how could he not know how devious this group of cement-pourers could be!

Damn Baldy!

He bowed his head, trying to recall... how have they offended this seemingly rugged, but actually incredibly sly old scoundrel during this period!

No wonder ’An Idler’ managed to interject at just the right moment!

Hehe~

Though they made a fool of themselves in front of Hill, and slightly offended this always amiable Mage, none of it was fatal; it just showed them to be particularly foolish.

The truly unpleasant speculation... like whether he’d be manipulated by certain things, Hill fortunately doesn’t understand!

What mainly annoyed Hill was the rumor... after so many years of friendship, such minor misunderstandings are barely worth mentioning, just own up to them.

Especially since Hill never did like that woman!

Hill pondered for a moment and quickly realized... Alexis had initially wanted to poach Ellie, so he always disguised himself as quite a sincere suitor.

Ellie... if that girl really has any feelings for him, Wendy painting a rosy picture for her would be understandable.

However, Hill thought a little puzzled... Didn’t Wendy recognize him?

How is that possible?

While flipping through memories related to Elemental Creatures in his Mental Sea, Hill softly said, ”As compensation for hurting my feelings, please cultivate the land and plant grass from the foot to the top of the mountain today!

Then, this matter can temporarily pass for now... But if there’s a next time, then in the future, there won’t be any so-called future!”

”Of course, of course! Hill is still so generous!

We absolutely won’t act presumptuously again next time!” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that Hill wasn’t as angry as he appeared on the surface... as long as the rumors weren’t spread by people like them.

’Perfect Bald’ is indeed the one who knows Hill best!

How hateful!

He will definitely retaliate!

”Hill.” The ’Young Master’ seriously asked, ”What do you plan to do about that other group?

Even though you don’t like Ellie, their approach... although it follows noble rules, it’s... disgusting!”

”Hmm?” Hill replied indifferently, ”What does it have to do with me?”

Then he quietly left a remark: ”Didn’t I ask you to come plant grass?”

The golden bell in ’Snow Cloud Peak’s’ hand suddenly glowed faintly and then turned into a bulging burlap sack within seconds.

”This... must be hundreds of thousands of grass seeds, right?” An always silent ’Susu’ finally reacted to what had happened, ”how to plant them?

If managed by each family, it might take a day... but if our Alliance all goes, it will probably take a whole day just to organize!

Unpaid labor, they... find it a bit difficult.”

”Don’t worry about those who don’t come.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ tilted his head to look at the burlap sack in his hand for a while, suddenly laughed, ”Give everyone three hours to gather, including notifying the PVE families over there, they can come get some grass seeds if they want.”

Then he glanced at ’Perfect Bald’, ”Old scoundrel! You wait and see!”

’Perfect Bald’ blinked innocently, ”What’s wrong? Old Dog... don’t be so fierce!

This is much easier to clean up than that silk, right?”

”Your Xiao Liuliu threw you to live in the attic again because of you lying on that silk parachute, huh?” ’Lu Huayu’ asked with a blank face... Yesterday during the windy leap, he accidentally knocked Bald onto the top of the parachute, and Bald seemed to have face down into the silk.

Others just grabbed an edge.

Then, that day, the harshest words spoken were solely his!

Old Dog does not have the emotional intelligence, constantly asking questions... although their clan’s ’Susu’ said a few words, it was completely harmless, Hill would not argue with girls.

These guys in their Alliance might at most lose a bit of face... Hill isn’t that petty.

Anyway, the Undead Tribe has always been unrestrained, Hill is already used to it.

No wonder as soon as the ’Young Master’ spoke up, that Dead Bald quickly changed the topic, saying it so nice... Damn it!

Really not a decent thing!

He still thinks of having a chance to reconcile with Hill someday... this isn’t deepening their enmity even further?

”Ah, how could it... it’s just things in the game~” ’Perfect Bald’ tilted his head and flashed a particularly cute smile, his two dimples sparkling, ”How can it affect real life!”

Everyone looked at him... Seems like he’s indeed been thrown out of the bedroom.

”Do these grass seeds have some use?” Wenjian World Youth Journey’s Mango crouched beside ’Snow Cloud Peak’, looking up as he closely examined them.

”I can only speculate... Anyway, just follow through.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ exhaled a long breath, ”Really, one day’ll be finished by you guys.”

”What are you all talking about?” ’An Idler’ looked around at everyone in confusion... why did the atmosphere suddenly get a bit strange?

Then, amidst the whirlwind of topic-switching, he found one he could understand, and spoke very seriously: ”That’s for sure!

Sister Liu has always hated spiders, after Toril, she doesn’t even want to see a strand of spider silk!

Even in Baldy’s Family’s garden now, there are special gardening robots to clean up~”

”Thank you very much~” ’Perfect Bald’ instantly quit smiling, ”Can you shut up? Idler!”

”Everyone, shut up...” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ tugged at the corner of his mouth, ”Quickly organize people, the grass needs to be planted by tonight!”

Not many responded to Proud Sky Alliance’s call... Due to some unspeakable reasons, Snow Old Dog even rejected the suggestion of offering a bit of reward from the Alliance.

Only some a bit smarter ones, clans who are regulars behind this Alliance, along with professional merchant families, organized their members to do this unpaid volunteer work.
