Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1544: Chapter 122: Our Hill, Our Bear

’Snow Cloud Peak’ pondered for a long time.

He doesn’t really care about playing against the wind, he used to be hunted down and dragged across the ground, yet he still bore it.

So what now?

Those who once hunted him down now turned pale at the mention of him, staunchly refusing to enter the same game as him.

However, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ glanced toward Basia City... If the opponents were other enemies, he might not care about what losses the NPCs might suffer.

He’s not about to demand his own people to risk their lives for the sake of data.

Utilizing the NPCs to play a big game would be his normal choice.

But this time, he was unwilling.

To him, the encounters of the past were eternally unforgettable... Those lives lost due to the turmoil were ’Snow Cloud Peak’s unbearable pain to this day.

If it weren’t for the energy storm secretly plotted by the Eden side, causing navigation damage... If his ship could have arrived a bit earlier, and more warriors had entered the planet, wouldn’t some of those people have survived?

’Snow Cloud Peak’ turned back and looked toward the coastline... revealing a cold smile.

The setup across the way really compelled him to take it seriously.

In addition, he coldly looked at the camps of those two families in Eden... even the ones secretly pulling strings were the same!

Let him see, how to set up a tenacious and firm line of defense under such unfavorable circumstances... so that this war doesn’t affect the people of Basia City at all.

”Old Dog, do you think the seaweed that Hill arranged at Agleya Port has any use?” ’Perfect Bald’ asked softly.

”Hmm?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ widened his eyes in surprise, ”You guys... stealing Hill’s grass?”

”What do you mean by stealing!” ’Perfect Bald’ opened his mouth in dissatisfaction, ”When we picked seeds, how could Hill not know! He didn’t say a word, so it’s alright!

If you didn’t think of it, that’s just you being dumb!

Clearly, the seaweed was happy to have someone willing to help them spread their seeds... Hill didn’t allow them to exceed a certain boundary at the port, and they couldn’t even grow any further themselves, okay?

However, the energy was so abundant it allowed them to bloom and bear fruit.

Even if we hadn’t planted the seeds, they would have wanted us to pick them, otherwise they’d be suffocating to death with nowhere to bloom new flowers!”

”So... why can you communicate with void seaweed?” ’Lu Huayu’ asked quietly, ”No wonder your family’s ships always stop casually, no one guards them at all... turns out you have helpers!

No, I should say, as expected, there are helpers!

Though, I originally thought it was those holy knights of Tyr... thinking you were really carefree, those holy knights do things too by the book, if anyone dared to sneak aboard your ships, they might not even notice.

Heh~ turns out it’s those vines that can capture people for fertilizer!”

He rolled his eyes, speaking slowly, ”I just want to know, why can you communicate with those vines, but when we go there, we get whipped away?”

”Hmm... why do you want to ask such a sad question?” ’Perfect Bald’ asked with a face full of surprise, ”It’s obvious, when the World Tree emerged in Hill’s valley back then, we just happened to have someone there!

That was the purest Nature’s Blessing, allowing us to avoid being at odds with intelligent plants... hmm, unless unintelligent plants are starving, they wouldn’t hurt us either.

It’s strange, Old Dog knows it! Someone from their magic cult was there too back then!”

”I know, but I don’t like playing big navigation games.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ looked at ’Lu Huayu’, showing a sympathetic smile, ”Nor would I observe those endless vines serving as ship buffer equipment when idle.”

’Perfect Bald’ blinked: ”Such an excellent natural crash prevention device! Even the impact force of such a large typhoon can be instantly decomposed!”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ waved his hand helplessly: ”Forget it, why am I dumb enough to discuss this with you.

Planting is possible, are there no issues?

If this thing loses control, that means surviving without a ship.

It’s fine for now, most of the ships at sea are Scaret’s, but in the future... Danboro still has fishermen!”

”These are seeds of the exclusive Endless Vines from Agleya, of course directly inherited with the traits Hill set for them, but... growing is a bit uncontrollable... Hill won’t limit their growth speed in the outside world, hehe~” ’Perfect Bald’ said with a grin, ”However, this world doesn’t have that much energy-laden stuff for them to feast on!

Crystal stones all grow on the continent... the energy in the sea, hey~ do we need to care?”

”Though what you said sounds good, I still have to ask Hill.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ pondered for a while and said, ”In case there’s an invasive species problem?

Don’t forget, the people and things here will experience huge changes because of our influence, or else Edna wouldn’t be the Edna she is now.

That scoundrel William won’t give us a chance to back out... think about how Road Eunuch has struggled all these years, and consider Zhu Meili, who now has to eke out a living with the merchant family!

I can accept my own failure, but I absolutely won’t accept it being because of self-inflicted suffering.”

”So... should we ask now?” ’An Idler’ glanced at the Lily of the Valley outside the window.

Ever since her presence was revealed, the Lily of the Valley is nearly covering half of Old Dog’s house wall.

It’s quite pretty, and the scent could even be considered fresh and lovely... but it’s a shame, everyone knows how fearsome this Lily of the Valley truly is.

”Such an important matter, how can it be settled with just a phone call?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ stopped his eagerness, ”This isn’t the same as casually asking an NPC about some trivial matter!

Although Hill is kind-hearted and doesn’t fuss over little things with us, we must show him our respect.

Think about it, we maintain a respectful attitude towards those who are over twenty levels higher than us, and as for the more powerful Hill, just because we have a good relationship with him... haha~ He may not care, but how can we let others think he lacks dignity?

Consider how the demigods on Toril behave.

And think about that fool Ismael, whose chin seems like it’s about to touch the clouds!

Haven’t we endured it all, taking care not to offend them in our speech?

Then treating the best to us, Hill, even less than them—

Tsk~ That’s unacceptable.

This world values appearances greatly. Hill is considerate of us, and we should also care about him!

When it comes to serious matters, especially when others can see it, we must give Hill enough face, understand?

Our Hill, our Bear, is not just to be talked about!”

The hall, once silent, suddenly erupted with cheers of ”Our Hill, our Bear~”.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ angrily slapped his own mouth: how did he accidentally let the truth slip out.

Hearing this, Hill could only smile wryly, waiting for Snow Old Dog to prepare for the climb.

Hill has always been willing to accept others’ goodwill... so even if he doesn’t think it’s necessary, he won’t say something like don’t come, this is enough.

As for the vines the ’Perfect Bald’ wanted to plant, Hill thought for a moment, then turned his ring, mixing the universally used crystal stone powder of this world with earth to produce a large amount of nutritional bricks.

The Undead Tribe only needs to plant those seeds in these bricks, then figure out how to mix them with stone bricks to build a waterproof embankment along the rocky coast.

Once these endless vines sprout, the Undead Tribe can pile a vast amount of energy baryte on them to make them grow rapidly... as long as there’s enough energy, they can grow one cubic meter every three minutes.

Hill glanced at the seemingly endless ocean. By then, those sea beasts that have become so large due to relying on strange void energy should also become fewer.

For the endless vines that once lived in the void, that kind of energy is the best delicacy.

Though ’Perfect Bald’ only plans to employ the endless vines’ trait of not entangling the Undead Tribe but instead repelling them, to trap those massive crystal stone energy-using ships of Scaret.

Moreover, before the energy of a ship gets completely devoured, the people on board will also be wrapped in the vines’ branches, only to be thrown out once their personal energy is entirely consumed.

For the Moon Clan and the Undead Tribe, it means being drained of mana.

Without skills, no matter how many of the Moon Clan there are, they can only serve to die against the well-prepared Undead Tribe.

Of course, the endless vines won’t be able to entirely kill off all the Moon Clan attacking from the other side, but as long as it’s not a one-on-three or even one-on-four scenario, the Undead Tribe should be able to hold on for a day or two.

Hill doesn’t know if Aesces is so confident that the Undead Tribe only needs to hold on for one day because he has a way to bring new arrivals directly to the fifth level in the shortest time.

However, in terms of the energetic aspects of an elemental body, Hill still trusts Aesces, who holds the majority of this world’s energy.

The energy painstakingly gathered by Eosca and Triton is probably just a snap of the finger for this World Master.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ couldn’t help but smile when he saw Hill waiting for him at the front of the Magic Tower with a smiling face.

Their Hill is always so understanding, and he truly cherishes others’ goodwill.

Then he joyfully saw the self-service shopping shelves Hill had prepared for them in the glass hall.

This made him recall their first meeting with Hill.

Though this time, unlike in Saral, there weren’t many peculiar items, and there were only three non-intelligent vending machines, which needed Hill’s puppet maid managing them nearby.

But the contents still made his heart bloom with joy: Alchemy machines that could automatically construct city walls or fill the sea and dig trenches, nutritional bricks that could make the endless vines quickly sprout and grow, and a large number of seeds: including endless vines.
