Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1547: Chapter 125: The Undead Tribe’s Tenacious Resistance

The endless vines by the seaside were indeed useful, but unfortunately, the Moon Clan learned from earlier lessons... A Mage who can never aim properly is less useful than a mindlessly hammer-wielding Knight.

The growth time of the endless vines was still a bit too short.

Although the majority of the Mage’s attacks were absorbed, and the first wave of Knights charging down got entangled in the vines, the Moon Clan Knights charging up the ramparts still far outnumbered the Undead Tribe’s Knights.

Although the Undead Tribe’s Priests had more proficient skills, sometimes, no matter how good the skills, they can’t compare to overwhelming strength.

The only consolation for the Undead Tribe is that their Defensive Knights never fear death.

After the first wave of Knights almost resulting in double the enemy Knights falling, the reserves charged the ramparts with shield walls without batting an eye.

And the first resurrection time wasn’t long enough for all three waves of Knights to be obliterated consecutively.

The hardest thing for the Moon Clan to endure was the Undead Mage’s precise spell attacks.

Especially when the Undead Knights they were entangled with dropped to dangerously low health that Priests struggled to heal, a Mage from behind would unhesitatingly take out both ally Knights and the enemy... those terrifying ground spikes cleared an entire area of Knights!

Yet, the Undead Knights were undeterred by the terrifying scene, nor did they fear dying the same way—the spikes weren’t even fully dissipated before they charged forward again.

The Moon Clan, having failed to break the Undead Tribe’s defense in the first round, was shocked to find that the Undead Tribe, instead, utilized the resurrection mechanism to fight them to a draw!

Indeed, the Undead Tribe’s losses were severe; the halos of Alchemy Potions on them proved how great a price they paid for the current situation.

Especially those instant health and mana potion... one bottle was worth a week’s gold for the average Moon Clan player!

Many from the Moon Clan later boarded the transport ships not for the glory of the clan, but out of disbelief at the wealth disparity.

Clearly, both sides started from the same point, and the opponents even arrived later!

For fairness, in the World of Aesces, external money can’t be used to purchase in-game currency... of course, if there’s a Gold Farming studio, there’s no stopping that.

In this regard, the Undead indeed had a relative advantage.

But, in terms of numbers, the Moon Clan held a far greater edge, especially in the early stages of the war. If not careful, the Undead were bound to slide.

The Soul Mode of ’Snow Cloud Peak’ pondered carefully above the battlefield... the Moon Clan’s experience wasn’t enough this time, and their prior preparations were almost negligible.

But in the future, they’ll surely develop formidable organizational skills.

Even people from Eden require a leader.

However, perhaps there’s little immediate worry, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ calculated the splinter groups observed, chuckled... Who’s letting people into the Moon Clan?

Damn... Why do the newcomers seem even stronger than those from the beginning?

The most incredible to ’Snow Cloud Peak’ is that the first and strongest batch turned into fence-sitters, not intending to lead but listening to whichever faction won in the power struggle.

Clicking his tongue~ Never thought there’d be a change of command amid an intense battlefield!

Damn, even losing the battle beats switching contradicting commands halfway through!

Otherwise, if it were the Undead Tribe, they’d have already turned their backs, following none but themselves... yet these people actually follow the new commander’s direction.

Well~ There’s nothing more to say. Their Mages had no idea how to strike enemies amid the chaos, while the Moon Clan conveniently grouped together, offering the Mages a chance for area attacks.

Such a complex ecological environment is beyond belief!

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have given up the second resurrection to observe... Should things continue, they indeed could hold out until the next day.

He glanced at the confirmed entry list for the second batch of Alliance members... knowing these people, reaching combat-level 5 should take only half a day.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ turned toward the mountain range in the back... If not for the leveling area being too far, the hardcore grinders could settled the battle within 3 hours.

The world of Aesces is truly odd, where leveling up only involves fighting Golems.

Of course, spiders and bugs give experience too, but as Basia is the main battlefield here, there are no such creatures.

It even makes him slightly miss Rose!

Hill at the Magic Tower slightly relaxed.

He also noticed the discord within the seemingly fierce Moon Clan battle.

Hill knew the Moon Clan’s situation better than the Undead, quickly realizing it’s the Bald Eagle and Robin fighting for the nests... the Maple Tree cares not which birds step on its head.

As long as more of Snow Old Dog’s people join in the next batch than those from Eden, the subsequent battles shouldn’t be too challenging.

Hill had already identified occasional vulnerabilities on the ramparts from the Eden family’s defense zones.

However, what these scheming people didn’t expect was that the scattered ones on both sides of their defense were far more persistent than imagined... even with heavy losses due to Eden’s mistakes, they gritted their teeth and held on until the mobile defending Knights arrived.

These knights not only include the strongest knights from the Battle Field and Black Rose, but also Ditte and his Knight Corps.

Eden, seeking to strengthen ties with the Stelter Family, definitely wouldn’t want Ditte to think they are worthless. So, despite constant errors, they are not completely defeated.

Perhaps they are always waiting for Ditte to give up in the long-lasting battle and return to the castle to rest.

However, for Ditte, who has been at the frontline for years, what’s this?

Not even a day has passed, and the battle hasn’t intensified to the point where he has to rush to the long embankment to help defend... he even has the leisure to take a nap on horseback.

On the contrary, he is very happy to fight alongside the knights he admires, and he is quite spirited in learning the knight combat skills brought by the Undead Tribe from other worlds.

Although Count Stelter doesn’t agree with his son’s participation in this battle... both the Moon Clan and the Undead Tribe are immortal, and if Ditte makes a mistake, he’ll be gone forever.

However, he cannot stop Ditte.

For these knights, the beliefs in their hearts are always the source of their motivation to move forward.

Thus, he can only anxiously stand at the highest point of the castle, observing continuously through the telescope, and additionally paid a certain Archmage to always be ready to pull his son out of danger.

At the top floor of the castle, Ellie sits gracefully by the window watching the battlefield: ”Why is Ditte taking such a risk?

It’s so worrying to watch... although the Moon Clan mages aren’t strong, they are numerous!

Hundreds of small fireballs could burn him to death!

Sigh...”

She gently pats the Wind Fairy on her shoulder: ”Kali, you must protect my brother~”

”You named the Wind Fairy? Call her Kali?

I thought you’d call her Kali.” Helena asks Ellie, heavy hearted.

”Yes... Kali.” Ellie opens her mouth slightly, silently mouthing the ’sto’ that follows.

Wendy disappeared hastily, only her soul escaped, leaving behind a storage space in this Wind Fairy... within the diamond-shaped mark on the Little Fairy’s forehead that resembles a turquoise gemstone.

Inside are analyses and introductions about Triton’s origins.

Thus, Ellie wasn’t surprised when the Exterior God Eoria controlling Prince Alexis and Triton eventually turned against each other.

It was bound to happen sooner or later.

After all, the Goddess who nearly destroyed Eoria was Triton’s sister.

However, Ellie’s main concern is the Goddess mentioned in Wendy’s casual notes about the Triton God System... the most beautiful elf maiden transformed into a Mother Bear and ascended to the Starry Sky to become the Goddess Callisto.

Ellie doesn’t know the real story of Callisto from Wendy’s notes, she only knew the Great Sage Belfran was nicknamed Little Bear by the Undead Tribe due to his Earth Bear bloodline, and secretly named her Wind Elf similarly.

However, she didn’t dare to reveal her thoughts... when she inquired about the Undead Tribe’s and Triton’s God System-related matters, she found the Undead Tribe wasn’t completely ignorant of that God System, even knowing more than Wendy left in her notes.

So she could only call her Kali.

Ellie slightly lowers her gaze... she really hopes one day she can loudly say Callisto’s full name with Hill accompanying her!

She uses her slender fingers to gently press the turquoise gemstone on Kali’s forehead... Wendy left her immense wealth.

Besides the abundance of Gold and Silver Jewelry and Energy Baryte, there are a few mineral distribution maps.

The nearest one is almost two kilometers from the Stelter Castle; she secretly observed it and it matches the map.

Thus, Ellie lightly presses her lips... even if Basia City is damaged due to the Undead Tribe’s reckless actions, she can give this mineral to her father.

Just invite Finch and the others once more to rebuild Basia City!

For the Basia citizens who suffered losses, she will add a bit more money to let them move into better houses, that should compensate them, right?

Ellie tightly clenches her hands, nervously watching the battle situation... the Moon Clan is so useless! They haven’t even forced out the Undead Tribe’s final defense!

Sitting beside Countess Stelter, Lind suddenly rolls his eyes while watching Ditte through the telescope... Ellie, something seems off.

”Ellie, what are you looking at?

Ditte isn’t on the mountain.” Lind says sarcastically.

”It’s none of your business!” Ellie retorts strongly.

Then she quickly softens her tone under Helena’s gaze: ”Kali will protect Ditte.”
