Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1296: Chapter 1087: What Exactly Does Anmur Want?

Edna turned her head to glance indifferently at the ‘Old Age Striking King’, who was always buried in communication with the Magic Cult, and ‘Cunlü’, who had nothing better to do than stroll around Toril, returning to his side when there were no signs of action.

She had never really paid attention to the ‘Perfect Baldy’ who had been badly suppressed by her friends.

But she should have realized long ago that anyone who could make someone like the Sanda King occasionally call them “big brother,” while pretending to be a little girl, was definitely not someone to be… messed with.

Indeed, anyone daring to always pretend to be a girl while using a boy’s voice to act coquettishly must not be underestimated.

Really, Edna tilted her head and couldn’t help but dig at her ear, trying to dump those terrifying conversations out of her mind.

She really couldn’t do like Nasir, who was basically hanging onto the window with admiring eyes, carefully listening… almost taking notes of the key points from both sides word for word.

How did the ‘Perfect Baldy’ manage to say nothing that would make the ‘Old Age Striking King’ cover Edna’s ears, yet sound so… venomous?

Ambori, on the other hand, was nothing special. The crude and vulgar words were indeed disgusting… but that’s it, just a collection of Toril’s crude words, nothing that would spark further imagination, far from the endless variety of the Undead Tribe.

Ever since she was about to come of age, the ‘Old Age Striking King’ had actually relaxed a lot, not keeping everything from her like before.

Now, the Sanda King only insists that their people absolutely cannot break the rules… but he allows Edna to see the world from outsiders.

However, her “outsiders” generally referred to the Toril people.

Edna couldn’t help but ask softly: “Uh… I’m really a bit anxious, can we start the fight here tomorrow?”

“No problem.” The ‘Old Age Striking King’ replied with a grin, “You may not believe that Old Dog’s mouth can speak human words, but you should absolutely believe in his ability to scheme against people.

If it weren’t for the Ambori people being greedy enough, they wouldn’t have done something that would anger the giant dragons… Do they really think that the hatred between the Metal Dragons and the Chromatic Dragons can supersede their own survival?

Even we from another world wouldn’t be so lucky to think that way!”

“I actually think…” Nasir suddenly spoke in a light-hearted tone, “they have actually figured out a way to deal with Tiamat and Bahamut, but didn’t expect our Lord to go over.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have the guts to openly use the Dragon Ball in a place like Snowfall Island.

Even if it were to snatch a usable shard of Mistra, there’s no need to pay such a heavy price.

Do you think… the people the Undead Tribe hasn’t found yet are in some massive underwater mine.

Who knows what kind of mineral makes them so certain that once exposed… even the Lord of Kind Dragons, Bahamut, would be so dazed as to let them leave.

Even the Metal Dragons and Chromatic Dragons would wage war over it?”

“Mithril?” Devis interjected suddenly, “The only thing that could make all the dragons go crazy is Mithril! No matter how extensive a gem vein is, it wouldn’t sway a Golden Dragon so easily.”

Edna’s eyes widened suddenly: “Don’t…”

Mithril! Are they talking about Mithril?

Elvia could no longer control her primal force… she’s headed for Snowfall Island!

“This mining business, Elvia, don’t even think about it.” The ‘Old Age Striking King’ slammed a foot onto the tip of the White Dragon Queen’s wing as it pounded the floor, “That depends on whether Hill can tear off a chunk of meat from the Moonshadow Archipelago; that’s all about backing. Are you just going to send yourself as meat?

Even with Arausato involved, it just adds another chunk of meat.

It would tempt the Pantheon Church.

Moreover, it also depends on whether Anmur is using an already depleted mine as bait, leaving just a little on the edges to fool those two greedy Dragon Gods, doesn’t it?”

Elvia sharply caught the words ‘depleted’, and her boiling emotions instantly cooled, as if she’d fallen into the deepest crack of the Great Glacier and directly came face-to-face with Olypher.

She hadn’t noticed the slight pain at the tip of her wing, and sharply said, “Then… at least Anmur must have a lot of Mithril, right?”

Edna decided not to disturb her White Dragon for the time being… that slight hope in her eyes was so bright that Edna couldn’t bear to shatter Elvia’s yearning now that she’d figured it out.

Even if her White Dragon Queen’s current thoughts were likely all about… robbery, sweeping Anmur clean from corner to corner!

The ‘Old Age Striking King’ looked up and observed for a moment, noticing that Elvia had indeed calmed down before looking down to tap his tablet, “I need to ask Old Dog.

Who knows what Nasir guessed, he might have figured it out too. No wonder he would use the Otherworldly Whale as bait.

If it’s an underwater mine, with the taste of the same sea, this kind of whale should have the ability to traverse planes to find it.

As long as the Ambori side dares to take the risk and openly act against the Otherworldly Whale that is obviously from the Moonshadow Archipelago… whether it’s under the open rule of Kowel Kingdom or us Undying Dragon across the river… it would prove that the Mithril mine basically holds no significance any longer.

It’s not that there isn’t any at all; it’s just that we can’t provide what Anmur needs… What on earth are they planning? Why do they need so many minerals?

True, this vein might be why the Imasca Kingdom placed the War Treasury on Snowfall Island. They might have nearly dug it out long ago, repurposing the mined-out caves for storage.

After all, the secondary minerals of such rare minerals are very hard.

Even if there’s a little left… the Magicplague has been around long, and Anmur should have excavated everything that could be dug out!

No wonder that Vampire Queen treats her subordinates so well, even letting those lower-level vampires use divine artifacts in the kitchen.

Tsk tsk~

I wonder if the Supreme Queen of Kowel knows about the bats sent by her neighbor, that have carried off the most valuable things from the Moonshadow Archipelago?

“The followers of Shantia surely love farms and gardens the most, how could they care about such vulgar things like gold and silver jewelry~” Nasir, sitting by the window, inherited his goddess’s disdain, his tone turning sarcastic at the mention of Mother Earth, “Mother Earth may coax you, hehe~ but it’s never a lie.”

“Ah… even if Anmur only mined a small part, or scattered veins not cared for by the Imasca People from years ago across various planes, it would still be enough for the entire Ferun Great Land’s nations to unite against them.” As a future city-state heir, Devis’s eyes flickered… clearly tempted.

Edna looked around; even Leonard, who always seemed indifferent to gold and silver jewelry, was watching the Sanda King’s tablet. She couldn’t help but sigh, “Anmur… are they trying to make the whole world their enemy?

What kind of beautiful future makes them so insane?”

“They all think after getting their hands on a carrier of Mistra’s Soul Shards and elevating them to the Divine Throne, they can still be used by them, so what can’t they do?” Nasir said with a cold smile, “You don’t think they’d risk offending the Undead Tribe just to gain a bit more participation on the Path of Destiny, do you?

When the Black Eye was knocked down to the Ferun Great Land during the Years of Turmoil, wasn’t he also miserably imprisoned?

Tsk, these self-righteous nobles are all the same.”

Edna’s eyes squinted with laughter: “So… is another dramatic rescue of the Princess in the Tower about to be staged?

Last time, the actors were Midnight and Black Eye, along with Cyric and Kranvo, who knows who will personally take the stage this time.”

Nasir also laughed… after all, his Main God had no intention to get involved this time, only aiming to profit… just suffered a bit from that Shlaer’s loss.

Nasir, sure that he wouldn’t be sent into the meat grinder, was very happy.

The ‘Old Age Striking King’ raised his head, surveying the circle: “Old Dog does have this suspicion.

I’ll read it to you all.

I estimate that Anmur intends to use these underwater resources to negotiate with Dragon Balls, Bahamut, and Tiamat.

So, whatever the vein is, there must be some, but… nearby, there must be some enemy they daren’t provoke.

Given that Anmur’s power makes the Queen of the Moonshadow Islands oblivious to everything about Snowfall Island, it definitely can’t be a humanoid force, only Giant Dragons.

Meaning once they make a move, a certain Giant Dragon is bound to notice, particularly a Black Dragon, which prefers living in water.

Clearly, with a Dragon Ball in hand, Anmur hasn’t intended to act in secret… I suspect it’s because they don’t have a Black Dragon Dragon Ball or only have one, meanwhile there are at least two Black Dragons there.

Seems like Shaer’s sudden attack indeed disrupted some of their schemes.

Tiamat and Bahamut might waver, but they absolutely wouldn’t under Shaer’s watch… If they lost face for the Nine-Faced Dragon God Eo before Ao’s daughter, they’d probably be sent back for reformation.

They’re planning to lure the two Great Dragon Gods over and then use this unidentified mineral and the Giant Dragon to negotiate… such a reckless plan was actually executed, Anmur certainly is in some unsustainable situation now.

Really interesting, I guess… those who allied with them years ago could be Bane’s Santalin Meeting, those people searching everywhere for otherworldly whales, likely to find this indispensable mineral for Anmur.

I’ve already ordered the first batch of minerals sent to Purwell; Fran staying inside should quickly analyze what the most expensive materials in those puppet’s composite metals are.

Now, it depends… when Anmur people confront Kratos, whether they rush directly without a second thought, or hesitate a moment before acting.

Hmm… seems normal for Anmur to hate Hill.

The loss of Purwell probably hit them hard.”

The ‘Old Age Striking King’ shouted back: “Don’t you always sail to the Moonshadow Archipelago to sweep for pirates?

Who knows what’s up with these Black Dragons here? More than one?”

The Undead Tribe members, standing or sitting around the hall, began whispering and quickly reached a consensus.

The Sanda King couldn’t help but tilt his head: “There really are?”
