Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1256: Chapter 1047: Edna’s Second Dragon

“Where are they going?” Cunlü asked curiously.

“The Lord of Agleya’s Floating Castle is quite famous.” A fleeting voice answered, “Candlekeep doesn’t have the ability to make the flowers bloom year-round, but when this Crystal Foyer was being set up, Ullant also built a Sunshine Hall filled with flowers at the highest point of the Great Library to welcome guests over the years.

Sigh… The sunshine there is splendid, but I can’t enjoy it.”

Several people turned their heads to see Hard Wind striding out from the wall that had turned and opened, and the silver dragon with stretched limbs in the oil painting on the wall.

“Sorry, I don’t like to appear as a ghost among so many people for conversation, except for battles,” Mirimum softly said, “Conversely, it’s very comfortable in the oil painting, at least it depicts how I used to be.”

“Lady Mirimum wants to invite us to the underground maze for a little adventure,” Hard Wind said seriously, “The first one I thought of, of course, was my beloved wife~”

Cunlü couldn’t help but shiver all over, looking at her husband with a strange expression… Nearly a minute later, she slowly said, “Of course, I’m always the first, aren’t I? My dear Wind.”

Nasir quietly walked away a few steps.

Edna chuckled and asked, “Should I go and inform the others?”

“Forget it,” the Old Age Striking King looked around, with a blank expression, saying, “Having Leonard visit the ghost’s home would be a bit too much for him.

Luca and Devis… Better let them stay here and learn more! Getting to the Eighth Ring as soon as possible is the best.”

“Then I’ll go call Old… Snow Cloud Peak, do you guys know where he is?” Hard Wind asked earnestly, gazing into the distance.

“He’s enjoying the commotion in the foyer,” Edna answered calmly.

“Ah…” Mirimum said weakly, “Ullant has guests now, they don’t seem ordinary, he’ll clear the area soon… No one is allowed to stay in the foyer and Sunshine Hall.

Luckily, my mystical atmosphere is quite interesting too, I’d like to hear you all tell stories of the Agleya giant dragons… Which silver dragon is the father of that golden dragon?”

Snow Cloud Peak ran swiftly with his group, leaving part of the Undead Tribe to accompany Soma’s group outside the Mage’s Hall, the rest entered the passage Mirimum opened, looking relaxed and happy.

Mirimum transformed into a mini silver dragon, jumping continuously within the wall sculptures, only returning to her form after she led the Undead Tribe, Edna, and Nasir through several downward loops into the cloud-shrouded maze pathways lined with volcanic rock.

The shimmering silver light of the little dragon landed on the ground and instantly transformed into a transparent giant dragon over 30 meters in length, with a long head crest shining softly.

“Damn Ullant, he shows off his control of the castle as soon as someone arrives! As soon as he heads to the Sunshine Hall, I know what the hell he’s going to do!” The swearing Specter Dragon quickly dispelled all mysterious vibes, “Ah, although outsiders can’t see the Mage’s Hall, they might hear from there! Is it okay to have your people left there?”

Hard Wind smiled and shook his head: “It’s fine, we have other ways to communicate.

Those guards don’t need to worry, just standing at the door without talking, it’s easy for them.”

Then he turned to Cunlü: “As soon as Mirimum spoke, I informed Old Dog, then came to find you.

When we got there, we noticed Ullant’s men were heading in your direction too, probably intending to clear the area. Mirimum told me to speak offensively, otherwise, those Prophecy Mages love to eavesdrop.”

“Can he only see the Great Library?” Edna couldn’t help but ask.

“Only the Great Library and the castle’s front gate,” Mirimum answered, “At least the cliff, he definitely can’t see.

Fool Ullant, always thinks the enchanted cliff is unreachable, so never bothers with it.

He probably never imagined that one day, Candlekeep’s problem wouldn’t be someone invading from there, but someone escaping from there.

When he took those women to the Sunshine Hall, the last group from the monastery also ascended the cliff.

Now, only the Prophecy Mages are left in the prophecy chamber underground… I think they’re staying to confirm whether Arando’s last prophecy related to Candlekeep will come true, rather than agreeing with Ullant’s actions.”

Nasir suddenly spoke: “What about Elaströ and the others? Did they leave?”

“You mean those female guests who came yesterday? They were the first to reach the cliff.

Ullant… when he went to the castle gate to wait for guests, they left immediately.”

Edna looked up: “Probably in the clouds now! Otherwise, if Manks wants to see them and asks Ullant to invite them over, what a dilemma they’d face!

Hehe… Elaströ is too shrewd to have any connection with Ullant.”

“She’s not looking to see Ullant, but the Great Sage of Oghma.” Mirimum led them into her mystical atmosphere, saying in a somewhat ethereal tone, “It’s just… she mentioned meeting Ullant because she was accidentally found out.”

Everyone looked up at the somewhat sheepish Specter Dragon.

“Um… when they arrived, I was just trying to sneak into the Sunshine Hall to bask in the moonlight.” Mirimum said innocently, “I accidentally made too much noise and attracted Ullant… So, of course, I’d expose those women first to save myself!

Ah… Mirimum is such a poor dragon, only allowed to wander secret passages and underground mazes, having to sneak around to do anything!”

“No wonder you had no idea about Elaströ and the others’ identities.” ‘Hard Wind’ said, suddenly realizing, “I was wondering, since you’re so familiar with the Great Library, how could you not know what’s going on.

Turns out it’s because…”

Even though he didn’t finish, everyone understood: He’d screwed someone over and didn’t dare go near their vicinity!

Mirimum unfurled her wings carelessly: “I don’t know who they are, but as long as they’re strong enough as a mage, that’s all that matters.”

“Do you… really hate mages?” Edna couldn’t help but ask, “But…”

“How should I put this… it’s more a dislike.” The Specter Dragon answered breezily, “It’s not really hatred. I wouldn’t despise all mages just because one tricked me or none were willing to help me.

Even if I couldn’t get help, who can I blame?

Not a single relative from my family came to help, right?

If you make a mistake, you pay the price. No one is obliged to help anyone, and even a juvenile Giant Dragon knows this.

But… sometimes, I just want to cause mages a bit of trouble, and that’s something I’ve unconsciously held onto.

Anyway, it’s just some harmless pranks, unless someone violates the library’s rules by trying to take books illegally… Generally, unless someone goes somewhere they shouldn’t, I wouldn’t insist they hand over all books, even without the Candlekeep mark.

I’m not really that crazy, it’s just… too many people think I’m insane and try to deceive me.”

Edna nodded: “That’s good then… because my library would require you as its guard in the future! Pranks are no big deal, considering the Hidden Town’s relationship with Agleya, there will be plenty of Little Fairies.

You might not even create as much chaos as they do!”

The young girl couldn’t help but turn her head and laugh… she wasn’t oblivious to the fact that Elvia also harbors much resentment against mages… indeed, many tried to seize the Magic Tower on the floating Ice Island after her original master’s death.

The title ‘Mage Killer’ was earned back then… then Elvia and Arausato transitioned into Magic Tower burglars… anyway, she’d already offended enough mages not to care about a few more.

Given there was Elvia, having a prankster Specter Dragon around… Edna thought mages should be able to withstand the blow.

If they can’t endure, well, that’s too bad… her Path of Destiny has been long and winding, and the first to submit were the two dragons… Mirimum would be bound to her in the end, the Specter Dragon knew that well.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have answered Edna’s question so seriously.

‘Yunfeng’ had been focused intently on tapping his tablet, then he finally looked up and asked: “Lady Mirimum, can these positions escape Ullant’s notice?”

Mirimum took a look and said: “No problem.”

She tilted her head, “Actually, as long as it’s not the top floor or near the front hall of the Great Library, he’s basically blind to the corners.

What can you expect, he’s just a Prophecy Mage!

If you’re going to have someone do the work while holding an almighty attitude, sometimes these are the results… he achieved what he wanted but nothing more.

You see, here he can see, but just a meter at the turning point here, the crystal ball sees nothing.”

The Specter Dragon pointed at the tablet, chuckling: “With a Magic Array, if you don’t understand it and only rely on hiring someone to draw it… tsk tsk, even with our Lord of Agleya’s book money, it’s not enough!

Then scrape together some materials here and there, tsk tsk… 200,000 gold spent to end up like this.”

“Ah…” ‘Old Age Striking King’ sighed, “The world is truly alike, the world is truly alike!”

‘Yunfeng’ glanced at them both, deciding to keep quiet… after directing everyone into their positions, he pulled out a Crystal Ball: “Ah, when watching a show, it’s more comfortable on the big screen.”

Especially when it’s multi-angle, with sound and all.

On the grand screen in the Sun Hall, Ullant was boasting with eloquence, painting Candlekeep as the most perfect place above and below the heavens.

A black-haired lady, donning a beautiful Mage Robe and wielding an assortment of fans, partially hid her face, seemingly listening to his explanation and nodding appropriately… yet her expressive eyes engaged in secret conversations aided by the fan.
