Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1266: Chapter 1057: The Overlooked Ambori

Hill was stunned for a moment; he didn’t know how to evaluate what he was seeing and hearing now.

He wouldn’t actively seek trouble with Ambori, nor had he ever thought of letting the Undead Tribe do anything to this Goddess of the Toril Ocean... but if the other party jumped out to cause trouble, he wouldn’t mind.

At worst, just fight! Even if the Storm God came in full form, so what?

Though Hill had always disliked meaningless battles, he never feared combat... a mage who could walk upright against the bone-cutting wind was never afraid of pain and death.

When he first faced Valkin, he actually felt apprehensive, after all, at that time he couldn’t confirm his combat strength level in Toril.

But when confronted, how could he retreat?

Agleya’s current peaceful days all began with his powerful combat strength... Indeed, over time, his allies and friends increased, getting stronger and stronger.

But if he hadn’t shown commensurate ability, he wouldn’t have had so many friends at all.

And such back-up, it’s always just after the fact.

The many divine children killed in Toril prove this point, don’t they?

Back-up at most is just a future vengeance, and if the opponent also has strong enough backing, an apology might let it pass.

After all, one’s eternal reliance is only oneself.

The Undead Tribe’s magic ship had already revealed the magic cannons and giant crossbows hidden beneath the deck, and Elvia, after being reprimanded, was tossed with Edna and others into the largest cabin by the Undead Tribe.

Standing proudly on the deck were the Undead Tribe... although the magic ship’s operations were managed by the intelligence core, most magic arrays required some magic-based professionals to stand at key points.

The grand black battleship charged fearlessly onto that demarcation line.

The ’Old Age Striking King’ stood at the cabin door, one hand on the control crystal, ears listening to Edna’s constant coordinate adjustments.

The Nibro Island kept randomly changing directions, trying to leave this dangerous area.

Unfortunately, no matter who was controlling it above... she couldn’t teleport this island elsewhere directly.

After all, the main controller of the Ningbrow Astrolabe was in Edna’s hands.

If it were a strong divine power, maybe it could bypass the main controller to control this super divine artifact, but... Ambori, if she had such capability, she wouldn’t just want to flee after discovering the Undead Tribe’s magic ship.

As the Undead Tribe burst into cheers, the few people thrown into the cabin rushed to the windows to look outside.

It was a very large floating island... Nibro was once named a kingdom not just because of the strong mages it had.

This huge island, amid many small kingdoms of Toril, was already counted as a medium-sized country.

Whichever party currently occupied Nibro Island was no longer a question; the island’s edges filled with shark-heads and what used to be lush green now overrun with seaweed and mud all proved everything.

The Undead Tribe hesitated about firing the first shot when Nibro Island’s occupant emerged.

”Damn Agleya People! Coming to hunt me down at this time!” A sharp voice accompanied by the disheveled half-woman figure appeared above the island, ”Ah Ah Ah! I knew it, saying not wanting to become Toril’s Sea God! All lies!

I will never give up just like that!”

The ’Old Age Striking King’ turned to Edna and asked: ”What does she mean? Aren’t we here to treasure hunt? Why does she say it like we’re here to help Agleya steal divinity?

Her?

Is there need to steal?

When our ship delivered goods to the Starfall Ocean and Great Sea, even those remotest islands without a single literate person were worshiping Agleya!

Moreover, they prayed for Agleya to see them soon while treading on seaweed.”

”Maybe Ambori thinks that at this time, who would come looking for her instead of Mystra!” Edna said, eyes unblinking, ”But why should we care about the Goddess of Magic?

Divine artifacts and treasures are the true beauties of life!

Who knows how long Ambori has occupied Nibro Island... she’s sure to have those Sharkmen capturing people to mine, and the seafloor pearls and coral gathered can’t be few.”

Elvia, lying listlessly in the middle of the hall, suddenly perked up: ”Need a giant dragon bomber?

Swift and accurate, I promise not to hit the sea!”

”Dream on, we have a spaceship, at most we’ll lose some money if something happens,” the ’Old Age Striking King’ said without looking back, ”When will dragons understand, life is more important than money?

Without life, who will the money be left for?

Arausato’s new lover?”

Elvia, scoffed a few times and lay on the floor: ”This is Ambori, what can she have?”

”Damn!” A cry of panic came from the Undead Tribe outside, ”What in the world did those shark-heads push out?”

”Ah...” Nasir said with a peculiar tone, ”The dragon slaying four-piece set made by the gnomes.”

”Is it that Dragon Snout Lasso, Candy-coated Bomb, Dragon Hunting Clamp, and Super Giant Crossbow?” Luca asked curiously, ”Isn’t it said that no one has ever been able to go back to settle scores with the gnomes after using those things?

Has Ambori gone mad?”

”That giant crossbow might still have some use, its power looks strong, it would take dozens of Sharkheads to string it!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ said fairly, ”But I reckon that such a slow crossbow wouldn’t even hit an Earthwalking Dragon.”

”Is she preparing for those Chromatic Dragons who have side gigs as pirates?” Devis couldn’t help but speak, ”But isn’t she the Goddess of the Sea?”

”It’s said that Ambori is a creature that even an adult White Dragon could chase away, she just causes giant waves.” Elvia changed her posture, lying down, ”A sea goddess without storms, what is she worth? Even those big birds that can fly bully her.”

Although her words were rude, it indeed was Ambori’s sore point...no matter how high the waves she creates, they are of little use against enemies in the air.

The Undead Tribe muttered for a while, then finally began to fire cannons around the island... they’ve dealt with Sharkheads at sea before, and understood well the characteristics of these seemingly gigantic ruthless creatures: not much different from their Main God, not even as destructive as those huge sharks beside them.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to have a tit-for-tat encounter with the non-killing Dolphin Goddess.

The blooming giant cannons on their magic ship are enough, as for the giant crossbow... just save it for shooting Ambori.

The ’Old Age Striking King’ suddenly frowned, taking out her Jade Holy Scripture: ”Eh? Are there missing pages here?”

”Wasn’t Nibro Island also wiped out in the Dawn War?” Hearing her words, Devis was a bit incredulous, ”How could there be missing pages of the Jade Holy Scripture here?”

”At the time, to save the lives of the believers, the Archbishop of the Lord of Dawn tore the Jade Holy Scripture apart for them to run with.

It’s likely that some pure-blooded Elves didn’t escape... perished along the way.

It should have been the two mages from the Haber family who brought it here.” Nasir thought for a moment before saying, ”Lansendel has been calling his believers to collect the Jade Codex, known throughout Toril.

Anything marked with the Lord of Dawn, his chosen ones can surely sense it.

Gendilarei is in Deepwater City, so close to Long Saddle Town, no matter how well they hide it, it could be discovered.

The defensive power of Nibro Island’s Puzzle Lock is not high, but its hiding ability is the strongest in Toril.

Besides, with the Star Disc, they don’t need much time to make the round trip.

Uh... in this case, Ambori’s ability to find this Nibro Island was probably guided by those mages from the Haber family.

Not only could her Divine Power cover Lansendel’s sight, but there’s also no worry about the Nibrow Astrolabe being stealthily seized.”

”Didn’t Ambori also use the power of the Star Disc?” Luca asked in surprise.

”That’s different.” Nasir laughed, ”In the royal palace of Nibro, there’s just a crystal ball to control the direction of the star disc and display the surrounding sea area of 10,000 kilometers.

The Nibro Astrolabe is enormous, hidden in the center of the island.

Miss Edna’s master controller allows her to teleport there directly; anyone else wanting to enter must gain permission from the person in control.

The secret passages on Nibro Island are much better than those at Candlekeep.”

”Ah!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ suddenly jumped up, ”Edna, this is for you, from the Old Dog.”

She pulled out a shining Mithril Sphere.

”What the heck is this?” Leonard was taken aback.

His Fairy Dragon Josanie said with a look of disgust, ”How can someone use such a precious thing to make a coffin for a necromancy?”

”Is it really that bad?” The ’Old Age Striking King’ looked down, ”Even at market price, it’s just 5,000 gold coins?”

”Are you talking about the price of Mithril along with diamonds?” Luca, who was very sensitive to the prices of precious materials, couldn’t help but ask.

”What’s a small broken diamond worth? Of course, only the Mithril price is counted.” The ’Old Age Striking King’ answered nonchalantly, handing the Mithril Sphere to a dazed Edna, ”Take it, quickly acknowledge it as your master, otherwise, Mirimum might even worry about not waking up.”

”One broken diamond is at least 5 gold! There must be at least 500 on there!

Really... extravagant, no wonder Lord Hill is so wealthy.

The Undead Tribe actually sells Mithril at market price!” Luca still muttered, ”Can I buy it too?”

”You can.” The ’Old Age Striking King’ answered immediately, ”Surely there aren’t many, but you could probably get several worth thousands of gold from anyone.”

Edna lifted the Mithril Sphere to her forehead, closing her eyes tightly... the magic lamps in the hall were quite bright, making the Crushed Diamond Mithril Sphere dazzling.

Mirimum had really handed herself over completely to the Undead Tribe. As soon as her spiritual power probed inside, the contract was completed... indicating that this Specter Dragon had no defenses at all.

A faint Silver Dragon ghost appeared beside Miss Edna, circling around her once, then perched on her shoulder.

The Mithril Sphere expanded and changed in the air, finally transforming into a glittering silver browband, hanging on Edna’s head.
