Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1258: Chapter 1049: Hill with Deep Roots

The audience in Agleya’s Floating Castle were a bit annoyed... the giant screen only showed Ullant’s boastful talk and the eye exchanges of those few black-haired girls.

The Undead Tribe didn’t put their conspiracies directly on the giant screen... After they started discussing, they turned off the live broadcast on that side.

This is quite normal.

Although, after coming to Toril, the competition among the Undead Tribe became much less due to William’s intervention... but to say there was none, that would be absurd.

Not to mention, there was always a small group of people playing their own games... they weren’t from the same country, except during world missions when those guys would stick with the main group in the corner and fight together. At other times, they were playing their own Knight Corps wars.

Even though the numbers were comparatively small, the competition between them wasn’t low.

But if there was a chance to cause trouble for ’Snow Cloud Peak’, the other party wouldn’t mind occasionally teaming up.

It’s just, they understood very well that the game wasn’t created by their country, and William was a famous real NPC with very high privileges, whose position was naturally biased... Fair on the surface, but different underneath, which are their usual tricks.

They certainly didn’t believe William would truly be fair to them.

But... these people genuinely enjoyed this game with a very high degree of freedom, which also aligned with their beliefs... Although they cursed their incompetent game company every day, to stop playing wasn’t an option for them.

Thus, the current situation arose... Sometimes, they needed to keep secrets from the public.

But this influenced the Deities who were watching the fun!

Who wants to see Ullant’s ugly face?

Celene grumbled discontentedly and drifted down from her Silvermoon, flying behind Hill, who was immersed in writing furiously on a huge sheet of paper.

”What are you doing, Hill?” she asked curiously, ”Ever since that tiger recognized a relative with that Tiger People, you’ve seemed very busy.”

”Ah...” Hill put down the pen, his face calm as he said, ”In our Teraxil, some things seem normal but have always been a bit confusing. Why does everything happen so coincidentally?

But when you consider the Orcish Pantheon, it can seem understandable!

Speaking of which, there’s a question I’ve been wanting to ask you, esteemed Lady of the Silvermoon.

Is Gewoosh always trying to merge Toril’s Beastified People with his Beastmen?”

Celene glanced at him and then solemnly nodded: ”The reason Beastified People sought my assistance, besides hoping I could help them regain their sanity after metamorphosis, is also because their Shifter pantheon cannot resist Gewoosh’s power.

After all, those in the Shifter pantheon have always been concerned only with their direct race... Oh, right, you do have the bloodline of the Bear Clan, do you?

Perhaps you might have a common language with Byrado?”

Hill couldn’t help but tug at his mouth: ”No, the Earth Bear and Bear People are two different things.”

Celene curiously looked at him: ”Then... is it the divine incarnation of the Earth?

It’s quite normal. Compared to other Beastified People, Bear People are much closer to nature. Perhaps it’s instinct?

Gewoosh doesn’t dare do anything to my followers, but... Beastified People are always prone to betrayal, and I can’t control their variability.”

Hill nodded, seriously looking up at the Maiden of the Moon: ”One of the reasons William cooperated with Coron to enter Toril is to find the enemy who nearly destroyed our Teraxil... for revenge.

I didn’t expect the hidden enemy that couldn’t be found was exposed due to this small matter.

We... can endure until the Path of Destiny ends, but... that God Above Gods...”

”Since it’s revenge, there necessarily is a cause.” Shaer floated over and spoke calmly, ”AO won’t prevent Toril’s deities and mages from taking external actions, nor will he stop the consequent revenge that arises from it.

As long as this hatred isn’t elevated to Toril, he hasn’t the interest to act for a bunch of conspirators.

Unless, those conspirators did it for the entirety of Toril... the old man indeed speaks out, but we can’t listen to that.

How could there possibly be such great people and deities in Toril!

Good people always end up corrupted, and those who can’t be corrupted are also in trepidation.

Tsk tsk, look at Tyr, who has been so honest lately, just waiting for the Path of Destiny to end and then quickly pack up and return home!

Even though he will still be the God of Justice of Toril, he will definitely send back those angels that followed him here to their hometown!

Anyway, on Toril’s side, many Just Knights have died, enough to form several Angel Legions for him!”

Hill looked at Shaer in confusion and quickly understood what she meant: Tyr, isn’t planning to withdraw from Toril.

What’s keeping him isn’t the world of Toril, but those Just Knights who share his ideology and fight valiantly for him.

He can’t possibly hand over these valiant believers to other deities... not even to Tom, whom he trusts dearly.

But Tyr also left himself a backdoor... If something goes wrong on Toril again this time, he has another world to return to and doesn’t need to worry about being completely assimilated by Toril.

Tyr probably hopes his God of Justice system would spread across the multiverse like the Coron system... that way, if he dies and is resurrected, it would still be him, not some tool under the control of the Tablets of Fate.

The Tyr who once set out to save other worlds with his entire army, after touring Toril, left with nothing but a belly full of thoughts... which isn’t bad, actually.

Hill smiled slightly... And this outcome, AO can accept. What AO truly wants is just that the concept of ’justice’ doesn’t go astray. Whether Tyr is wholeheartedly for Toril is not the most important thing.

Hill savored Shar’s words repeatedly in his heart and suddenly looked up at the Lady of the Night with a beaming smile.

Shar avoided Hill’s gaze, turned her head to look at the white clouds in the sky, and gently tucked the long hair fluttering in the breeze behind her ear.

The Lady of the Night’s words were actually meant for William to hear... where there’s an enormous curtain, William can definitely hear them.

Since the God of Justice of Toril is still around, AO won’t target William... although William is much to His liking, but having used Tyr for so many years, and with how well he’s integrated with the people of Toril, Tyr is still more suitable for this chaotic world.

Celene stood on one side, looking left and right... She, who doesn’t quite understand these emotions, couldn’t summarize the true meaning from Shar’s words.

But the Maiden of the Moon’s intuition told her something was off with Shar.

However, unable to discern it, Celene soon gave up on figuring it out... If she could truly understand Shar’s thoughts, how could the Twin Wars have dragged on for so many years?

Don’t bother thinking about things that can’t be figured out, this has always been her nature.

Celene chuckled and said, ”Gewoosh has never been a welcomed deity for Toril, and AO won’t intervene if you act against him.

So, are you referring to some particular Toril power?”

She tilted her head in thought for a while, then slightly opened her mouth in surprise, asking, ”Are you by any chance planning to collaborate with Magnubiyeh?

The only thing I can think of is those Giant Valley Magic Towers that experimented on animals before; the Undead Tribe has always wanted to investigate there... Isn’t it true that some people are still staying in Yinbutu to monitor them?

I’ve long noticed they’re much more interested in those Magic Towers than Goblins.

In recent years, there have been more Goblins in the Giant Valley forest than mice, yet that Undead Tribe Camp on the mountain peak just watches without making a move.”

”Previously, it was just suspicion,” Hill said softly, with eyes slightly lowered. ”But neither William nor I would convict anyone based on suspicion alone.

Yet now... there is evidence for us to take action against Giant Valley.

Those Magic Towers in Giant Valley have been conducting fusion experiments on Beastified People and Beastmen for over ten thousand years.

And ten thousand years ago, what they were experimenting with was hoping to have Beastmen become like Giant Dragons... The reason they abandoned it later on was reportedly because they succeeded but also failed... and since they were attacked by Giant Dragons, all the experimental materials were lost.”

Hill silently looked at the paper in his hand... Teraxil’s Magical Beasts emerged ten thousand years ago.

Magical Beasts, which would naturally take a long time to awaken, suddenly gained the ability to awaken their bloodlines.

Then came the love story between the Wolf God and the lake, and the tragic Abyss War.

Celene suddenly spaced out, and after a few minutes, she snapped back, saying, ”The old man said that making a move now isn’t a problem; he guarantees not to trouble you because of those reckless fools in Giant Valley.

Nor would he find an excuse to keep you because you acted against them.”

Hill blinked, puzzled, tilting his head slightly.

”Ah... those old guys from before the Naish era, in some ways, didn’t do much good for Toril either,” Celene said indifferently, ”aside from causing trouble, they only caused more trouble. The evil deeds concocted by Toril’s evil gods, like Ambori and Marla, are probably less wicked than one of their magical experiments.”

”Tch!” Celene couldn’t help but click her tongue in disgust, ”The old man is just sickening someone, isn’t he? Comparing those two.

But it’s about the same; after all, one likes to drown a city, the other likes to hunt people and woodcutters in the countryside, all using despicable and vile methods specifically targeting innocent civilians.”

Hill looked down at the writings he had penned and asked in an seemingly nonchalant manner, ”How come I feel like the Supreme God of Toril’s attitude towards me has changed?

It looks like William’s more popular than me!”

”Toril’s Path of Destiny this time is quite magical, attracting the attention of many from other universes,” Lansendel, who had been silent, suddenly laughed, ”Hahaha, Hill, have you forgotten the bloodline you carry?

Pure mages are of no use to AO, but the progeny of deities with foundations, they must see who’s behind them!

Hahahahahahah!

He has certainly abandoned the idea of making a move on you now! Otherwise, your head... ah! I’ll shut up! I’ll shut up!”
