Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1292: Chapter 1083: Thoughtful Shaer

In a way, Shaer is a very considerate Goddess.

Even though Hill knows how cold and ruthless the Lady of the Night can be, he couldn’t control his thoughts.

After all, who would’ve thought that before making her move, she would go to the Temporal Artifact and ask for a tool that could live stream, wearing it on herself. It really… made him, who had always been curious about what was happening in the castle, eternally grateful!

Even Celene and Lansendel were visibly shocked by the scene appearing on the giant screen… Shaer had clearly attached that attack to one of those long, hidden Whips of the Night floating behind her, and she had carefully chosen a perfect position… capturing a panoramic view, showing the enormous, colorful Tiamat juxtaposed with the slender Shaer sitting on a black silk ribbon, sneering right in the center of the screen.

Mind you, these long tentacle-like whips full of barbs, known as the Whips of the Night, exist within the shadows. Unless Shaer summons them to lash someone, they simply serve as tools to replenish her Divine Power from the Shadow Realm.

Unless someone can appear on the Shadow Plane opposite to here, no one can bypass Shaer to attack these tentacles.

The old ragged Shadow Realm already made Shaer difficult to defeat, let alone now, where it’s almost exponentially stronger, complete and devoid of outsiders!

This is the reason why, even though she lost the Shadow Demon Network, Shaer hasn’t lost her sanity; she never was the type like Celene who would just optimistically find a comeback next time.

If her power were truly greatly diminished because of this, she would, without hesitation, make a move on Mystra, even at the risk of being locked away by AO for a few thousand years.

Even with William holding her sanity, it wouldn’t work; she would inevitably take her chances.

Shaer knows well that if her power diminished like Celene’s, it wouldn’t be easy to climb back up… AO certainly wouldn’t let her die, but if it meant less trouble, that old man would probably prefer it.

The Goddess of the Night smiled as she summoned the now completely drained gemstone pendant into her hand, the long black metal chain attached to the pendant wrapped around the thick Mithril Book, bringing it along.

As for the original Vampire Duchess… to directly let an avatar of powerful Divine Power descend, naturally requires a sacrifice of life… and a soul sacrifice is the pinnacle of rituals.

Otherwise, even with a power crystallization of the Shadow Realm, it wouldn’t be easy for Shaer to penetrate Tiamat’s intricately crafted lockdown array over thousands of years.

Speaking of which, Shaer’s purple eyes couldn’t help but blink, her dense long eyelashes fluttering like the wings of a black butterfly: This thing was researched because Tiamat, as the Grand Duke of the First Hell, didn’t want Asmodeus calling her to fight invading Demon Armies while she was sleeping, right?

It’s said that even the Lord of Hell had to exert great effort if he wanted to break this lockdown array from outside… But if he were to put in that much effort, why not just wipe out that group of demons directly?

Asmodeus just didn’t want to constantly trouble himself, so he tolerated the antics of the First Hell’s successive Grand Dukes… Anyone who puts all their attribute points into combat power is bound to have their share of trouble.

Really, of those who folded during the Hell and Abyss wars, the Grand Dukes of the First Hell likely didn’t even amount to half of those whom the Lord of Hell personally couldn’t stand and dealt with.

Otherwise, Asmodeus wouldn’t have gone nuts relying on a color-striped dragon that sleeps for a thousand years at a time.

The final outcome was even more irritating than doing it himself.

So once he found a Fallen Angel who loves skirmishing with demons, the Lord of Hell was so delighted he directly kicked Tiamat off her Grand Duke position.

This is no secret, even the demons on the Bottomless Abyss side knew, because that day, throughout Hell, no matter the corner, everyone heard the normally silent Asmodeus vehemently denounce Tiamat.

Thinking about this peculiar dragon’s past, Shaer felt a bit cheerful… She might chat with William later about the fun stories of these dragons on Toril.

So in a good mood, the Lady of the Night arched her eyebrow and, under the angry glares of the Five Headed Dragon Mother who was growing impatient and about to lunge, coldly said: “Your… Divine Artifact?

No, Imasca Mysteries, will be mine from now on.”

Tiamat’s head was always alert at such moments: “You! I came first! I was the one who fought life and death! How shameless you are…”

Shaer directly cut her off: “I… recently learned some good rules for living.

Which is speaking to a person in human terms, speaking to a ghost in ghost terms, and of course dealing with dragons in dragon terms.”

Tiamat promptly shut her mouth.

Dragon rules… especially the rules of the Chromatic Dragons, most of which were established by her, so she clearly understood Shaer’s meaning… Theft isn’t a crime; weakness is.

Tiamat of course understood that since Shaer appeared, a fight was inevitable.

But she still nagged and blamed the Goddess of the Night, of course, while guarding against the sudden action of the Maiden of the Moon and waiting for dawn.

She glanced at the sky outside… At that time, Tiamat didn’t immediately want to kill that Vampire, because she didn’t expect to be dragged to the middle of the night by that big bat.

Tiamat has always liked to cut the grass and root out the weeds… If she really had to kill that Vampire, she was a bit worried that in the night, there might be some residue left.

She remembered there’s a kind of bat that can be as small as a fly… And the bats that Vampires transform into are not magical creatures, without any magical fluctuations. She can find the bigger ones, but if they are as small as insects and hiding in some nook, the Chromatic Dragon Queen doesn’t think she could be that meticulous.

However, such bats absolutely cannot appear under the sunlight… Tiamat had always kept this castle, intending to destroy that creature, and afterwards, directly demolish the entire castle, digging down ten meters, which should completely eliminate future troubles.

In the end, it would be better to leave the Vampire some chance!

What she got instead was Shaer.

Wait… Tiamat suddenly thought of the Platinum Dragon God who flew away honestly… that useless creature! When needed, why didn’t he stay to cause trouble?

Completely oblivious that Bahamut had already guessed the outcome, Tiamat couldn’t help cursing the Platinum Dragon God who followed the rules when he shouldn’t have.

If Bahamut were here… Tiamat paused for a moment… No, that calculating creature had only agreed to fight against the Vampire and the forces in Anmur daring to use the Dragon Orb; everything in the castle belonged to her… He didn’t say he would help her protect these treasures.

Tiamat’s five heads couldn’t help but twitch… Could Bahamut be planning to rob her as soon as she leaves the castle?

Tiamat decided to inquire after returning about whether those remaining Chromatic Dragons left just now or stayed outside until Shaer appeared before leaving.

Shaer didn’t care about the Chromatic Dragon Queen who was in a daze, nor did she care whether the latter was trying to stall… Even under the sunlight, she could summon a dark canopy sufficient to shield against the blazing sun.

Now, she no longer had to worry about being suddenly struck by a certain Lord of Dawn and having her canopy broken… As for another Sun God, it might take at least ten thousand years before considering this matter.

The beautiful Lady of the Night gently turned her head, staring at that Anmur noble wearing the first artifact of Imasca.

The High-level Mage, who had been relatively well-behaved, turned pale the moment he saw Shaer, his hands moving frequently, yet… even though the sealing spells of the Chromatic Dragon Queen had been lifted, he still couldn’t escape the binds of the shadows.

The ambitious Anmur Noble Mage understood that in front of Tiamat, he still had a chance to buy his life… The Chromatic Dragon Queen also understood this, though she hesitated about whether to spare the Vampire possibly allied with her and a subordinate of the Necromancy Abyssal Lord. But she only showed her hesitation to have something to say in front of allies… Isn’t it obvious who lives longer in front of dragons, those with ransom versus those without?

Yet Shaer, who openly maintained friendly relations with the Undead Tribe, definitely wouldn’t forgive him.

When he appeared here, even wearing the Imasca Crown and commanding the Vampire Duke holding the first artifact to manipulate the Dragon Orb to attempt to destroy the Guardians of the Undead carrying fragments of Mystra’s soul, everyone knew what he intended.

Especially since before that, he had already had a subordinate take one away.

Imprisoning a potential candidate for the Goddess of Magic and profiting from it, he wasn’t the first… Didn’t the previous Mystra also once act as a princess in a castle?

The fellow who dared act was indeed somewhat naive back then… If he let that incarnation of Mystra give birth to a child, would she still have been so ruthless as to blow up the entire castle, killing everyone inside?

Of course, Shaer couldn’t care less about Mystra’s fate, but she… might easily eliminate him because of the Undead Tribe.

The Anmur Mage understood he held no value to Shaer.

He gently removed the crown from his head, respectfully stretching out his hand: “Honored Lady of the Night, great Empress Shaer, please accept my offering.

The Imasca Crown can only reveal its true brilliance with you.”

The stalling Tiamat couldn’t hold back any longer, and she roared angrily, all five heads transforming into Red Dragons, forming a circle and breathing pillars of fire.

Shaer didn’t even blink, just waved her hand, commanding the bench beneath her to transform into a veil, enveloping her and the Anmur Mage, subtly raising her left hand as the crown flew directly into it.

Tiamat’s pillar of fire didn’t even make the veil move an inch.

“Tsk~ such a show-off.” Celene on the Floating Castle sneered. “Aren’t you afraid of overacting and making a fool of yourself?”
