Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 339: Chapter 138: Hill’s Money-Making Opportunities from the Sun and Silvermoon

Hill truly didn’t feel any joy.

The long-standing presence of the sun and Silvermoon, carrying a touch of sorrowful remembrance, only proved one thing.

The revival of the Goddess of the Earth was not progressing as fast as Hill had imagined.

Hill couldn’t help but concentrate, recalling that broken half sphere.

Thinking about the World Tree Artifact that tirelessly supported the sphere.

It wasn’t as lush and flourishing as the giant tree he saw in his dreams.

The World Tree supporting the sphere only had a dozen main branches left, and the marks of broken-off minor branches still remained.

The oak tree once said that once it detached from the Main God Artifact, the World Tree would quickly grow new branches. For this artifact, it wasn’t a difficult task.

But the World Tree supporting the sphere had not wasted this effort.

This indicated that even it was struggling to maintain itself.

Could it be that only the moment the planet is complete would the Goddess of the Earth fully recover?

Hill touched the bear claw depicted in the painting, thankful that he had included this ancestor of his.

Otherwise, his Ancestral Bear might really come out to kill him.

Since this painting turned into a Demi-God Artifact, it would never be erased.

Perhaps for the sun and Silvermoon, the most important attribute was the eternal existence of the artifact.

They hoped this painting could be preserved forever. Maybe, when the Goddess of the Earth awakened, they could sit together again and admire it.

Hill knew that indeed, some powerful deities could still shatter this Demi-God painting.

But unless a deity stronger than both the sun and Silvermoon combined, no one would dare destroy this painting.

Even enemies of the sun and Silvermoon would find no reason to initiate a war just for a painting.

But these two deities did not waste this rare opportunity to descend into the lower realm for nothing.

Given the current World Rules, even Silvermoon had to exhaust great power to send down a strand of Divine Soul. And the sun only borrowed light to descend. The only moment he could utilize the Power of the Silvermoon was when the sun and the moon shone together.

If it was just to admire a painting, it seemed a bit extravagant.

They could easily sit in their own Divine Kingdom and admire it, not like they couldn’t see it from there.

Therefore, the sun and Silvermoon thought very thoroughly; a win-win solution was always the best!

The spells the two deities added to the painting were quite practical.

If Hill were a commander.

But Hill was just a reclusive Nature Warlock.

With a population of fewer than fifteen people, including a few young children.

So after feeling melancholy for a while, Hill dazed for a long time, wondering what use this thing could be to him?

Why not give it directly to William?

He couldn’t possibly sell a painting blessed with Divine Grace. Was he supposed to carry it into war?

What did war have to do with him, a Nature Warlock?

He had no intention of changing his nature.

Yet this painting, with the addition of those two beams of light, became even more vivid.

Just looking at it, one could feel that sense of holiness and beauty.

Hill pondered for a while, then realized that deities of the same rank as the God of Time and Space, the sun and Silvermoon, couldn’t directly give anything to William.

They were just allies of the deity of time and space; they couldn’t bypass the God of Time and Space to grant William divine gifts.

And as for equal exchanges, they were unwilling.

Whether William was already another God of Time and Space or not, he was still just a future deity who had not yet ascended to the Starry Sky.

Given the pride the sun and Silvermoon exhibited, viewing all Law Deities as juniors, there was no way they would place themselves below the God of Time and Space.

The sun, moon, and the Goddess of the Earth were born alongside this world.

List quietly appeared behind Hill and also glanced at the painting for a moment.

Then he asked, ”Sir, where should we place this painting?”

Hill shook his hair, shaking his head vigorously.

He stepped forward to lift the 5-meter wide, 2.5-meter high painting and placed it in the hall on the second floor of the Magic Tower.

He asked List to remove all the decorations behind the main seat, sealing the Demi-God Artifact painting on the back wall.

Hill sat in a chair, feeling the warm Holy Light descending from above and behind him, exhaling deeply.

What should he do? Was he supposed to follow William’s ship as a doctor?

Hill wasn’t too willing to directly participate in the war.

If it were to fend off the Elves’ legends, he would do so without hesitation, for the sake of the world.

But if he were to participate in lower-tier wars as a Legendary, where he would kill ordinary people, Hill was not too willing.

Knowing well that the Undead Tribe would surely win, why did he have to get involved?

After thinking for a long time, Hill couldn’t resist eventually rising to his feet and using a Transcription Technique, which was the only possibility he could think of.

At first, Hill only wanted to try if he could make a copy of the painting, and he was stunned as he gazed at the small painting in his hands.

The painting in Hill’s hand was only one-tenth the size of the original.

Yet it retained one-fifth of the Demi-God Artifact’s power, but it was indeed copied, equivalent to a Legendary-Level war treasure! Searching through Saral’s treasury might not yield another one.

Although it consumed one-tenth of Hill’s spiritual power, this thing was practically a weapon of war!

Hill gazed up at the sky, wondering what the sun and Silvermoon were thinking.

Was this giving Hill a money-making opportunity? A copyable Demi-God Artifact!

Hill glanced southward. How many times had William mined recently?

William’s floating fleet was supposed to set off early tomorrow, right?

Hill quickly duplicated eight more copies.

He then, noticing the Demi-God Artifact slowly absorbing sunlight, took it upon himself to convert the majority of the hall’s walls into openable floor-to-ceiling windows.

From now on, this floor’s routine: basking in the sun during the day, and soaking in the moonlight at night.

Hill unhesitatingly used the Demi-God Artifact’s spiritual recovery spell, wanting to test the recovery speed of his mental sea.

Yet he only felt silver moonlight envelop him, instantly restoring his spiritual power.

Hill touched the Legendary-level painting in his hand, realizing he had underestimated the power of a Demi-God Artifact personally crafted by two deities.

That power was a bit too frightening.

Hill’s spiritual power considered relatively strong even among Legendary Mages.

The mental sea of an ordinary Legendary Mage might not even be half as large as his.

Even so, if it could refill instantly, it indicated that the recovery capabilities of these Legendary-level paintings couldn’t be much weaker.

After all, most of those needing replenishment might still be at the Magister Level spiritual sea.

This thing, Hill couldn’t commission the Undead Tribe to deliver it.

Hill found a delicate little box, placing seven paintings respectfully inside.

Then he carefully stowed away the other two paintings, intending to send them to Fran and Adrian later.

He didn’t think the actions of the sun and Silvermoon were pointless.

And the recent war was right on the horizon.

With the small box in hand, Hill flew towards the Teleportation Array.

Then he realized he was right. Having just stepped out of the Kexlote Teleportation Array, he was immediately pulled to the King’s Hall by William via a space transfer.

Sitting on the throne, amidst a group of bustling royal ministers, William laughed and said, ”The God of Time and Space notified me; the Goddess of the Silvermoon shared some good news with him. I was just thinking, if you didn’t come, I’d have to send Spencer again.”

Hill slightly curled the corners of his mouth, revealing a polite smile, and handed the small box to William.

William first carefully admired the delicate little box, then gently placed it on his lap, opening it.

By William’s actions, Hill understood; this box was already considered a gift to William.

William took out the painting, and upon seeing it, he looked up in surprise: ”Hill, your bloodline can trace back this far?”

Hill’s eyes widened: the Earth Bear was born a Legend, living longer as a Demigod. This was common knowledge. Even if others didn’t know, William, the future deity, would surely know.

And the last time the Earth Bear appeared in the sight of humans and elves was several millennia ago.

So, was it surprising that Hill had an ancestor bear tens of thousands of years old? Wasn’t that normal?

William knew quite well. So, what was his purpose?

Hill perked his ears, hearing William mutter, ”The bear’s strength~ Ha, ha~ That’s Brest’s Little Hill, possessing the Earth Bear’s strength~”

Although soft, Hill heard it!

But Hill, who had to pretend not to understand, said angrily, ”What’s wrong with the strength of the Earth Bear? Want to compare strength with me, Your Majesty the King!”

William burst into laughter.

He struggled to keep a straight face: ”I meant no harm, Hill. Let me see this painting’s power, it’s so strong!”

Suppressing his anger, Hill said: ”This is a Legendary-level war treasure! Expensive!”

He resolved to charge a hefty pen!

William examined it closely, confirming each painting’s power was consistent, and beamed with joy: ”Chancellor, please accompany Hill to the treasury; he can pick whatever he wants.”

Then he promptly instructed Spencer to fix five paintings onto the five troop-transport airships.

William kept one painting for himself, giving the rest to the Chancellor: ”This one, please discuss with the ministers where best to place it.”

William wasn’t worried at all that any unfit person would vie for the painting.

Those with too many selfish desires couldn’t stay near this painting at all.

The sense of holiness was overwhelming, the power of the sun nearly cleansing the heart and purifying desires at all times.

The fact that Hill standing before him felt nothing was because he had little desire for power to begin with.

Moreover, as a Nature Warlock of the Kind Alignment, even if Hill had private desires, they would never be founded on harming others.

William knew quite well; in his jurisdiction over officials, he could only manage their public duties. Even if they had personal vices, as long as they didn’t lean towards the Evil Faction, he couldn’t interfere.

But this painting, filled with Holy Power, was different.

Staying near it for long might prompt one to be willingly converted and confess their misdeeds outright.

Therefore, William was not worried about anyone vying. This painting indeed greatly benefited life and spiritual power.

But after competing for some time, those officials would likely avoid it like the plague.
