Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 336: Chapter 135: The Shining Entrance and Refreshing Counterattack of the Goddess of the Silvermoon

Spencer suddenly turned back and asked Hill, ”I heard you have a shop with lots of good stuff?”

Hill hesitated for a moment then pointed out the location of his shop to them, ”There are many from the Undead Tribe in the shop, they’re active day and night.”

Spencer sighed, ”His Majesty the King said, there are many expensive items in your shop, but there are also quite a few affordable goods. Do you like to throw in your flawed practice pieces?”

Hill nodded in surprise, ”There are a lot of those in the miscellaneous area, I dumped them there for the Undead Tribe to treasure-hunt for fun.”

”Some things, we can use too,” Spencer said as he disembarked with the Knight Corps and turned back to Hill, ”We’ll go there ourselves to take a look first; when we’re done we’ll teleport back.”

Spencer took the attendants who had run out to greet them, and headed towards Srei’s shop.

The knights all wore excited expressions; it seemed they had long thought about what they wanted to buy.

The pointing and commenting of the Undead Tribe had no effect on them.

They were probably already accustomed to being gawked at.

Hill was about to head back to the Magic Tower when he noticed Snow Cloud Peak waving at him.

He retracted his boat and flew straight into the fourth floor of the Lord’s Mansion, and sure enough, Snow Cloud Peak quickly ran up to him.

”Mr. Hill, in our family, most of the former family members usually qualify to board the ship,” Snow Cloud Peak said politely, ”This time, probably no family manager will stay behind to take care of things. If anyone causes trouble in the valley, please just kill them, okay?

People like that will be banished from the family; generally no one would take the risk. But we don’t know if there’s anyone out there with a screw loose, so in case someone does show up, please Mr. Hill, excuse us and kill them first.

We’ll see where and by whom the dead have been killed, and we’ll banish them from the family before they resurrect, so they won’t appear before you again!

There’s accountability here; whoever brings someone in is responsible for them! Mr. Hill, rest assured, anyone who lowers their family contribution points by causing harm, the one who recruited them will go kill them a few dozen times first!”

After thinking for a moment, Hill nodded and agreed.

Now, he had already opened up loop quests, and sooner or later a large number of unregulated Undead would appear; he would have to handle these matters himself anyway.

For Hill, who had already become Legendary, these were small matters.

In his valley, the four Element Lords were enough to handle any trouble.

”Edgar has become a knight,” Snow Cloud Peak glanced at Hill and whispered, ”He read that book and found it painful, so he decided to leave the Capital and signed up to go to the southern Border City.”

Hill nodded, Edgar had indeed chosen that path.

If he stayed in the Capital for too long, he would be recognized sooner or later.

Snow Cloud Peak, satisfied with the answer, happily took his leave.

List appeared silently, ”Sir, would you like to go back and freshen up?”

”Has something happened?” Hill leaned back in his chair, although he had only been gone for half a day, it felt much longer to him.

”No,” List said, ”Those Knight Squires were very honest; I’ve assigned them to look after their mounts in the empty lot next to the inn. They stayed in the inn for a long time eating after finishing their work.”

Hill smiled wryly, thanks to that book, everyone knew he was fond of eating.

The food in his inn had been selling quickly recently.

Those attendants probably heard about it too.

”If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back, take a bath and sleep.” Hill walked towards the balcony; it was nearing dusk and the moon was already showing a sliver of itself.

”Tonight’s moonlight will definitely be especially bright,” Hill murmured softly, flying back to his home.

Hill had a comfortable hot bath and fell into a deep sleep under the bright moonlight.

William, who had already received the copy of the Alliance Book from the God of Time and Space, was now admiring the moonlit sky.

”Why do I have to go? That damned wolf actually oppressed me with divine power!” Spencer sat on the side, having taken the Knight Corps back to their station then ran to the Royal Capital himself.

”Only you can go,” William gazed at the particularly bright moon tonight, ”Do you expect the Chancellor to go to his death? Those wolves don’t recognize political status, only strength. I can’t send a Legendary there, that would be too grand.”

”Hill is Legendary, isn’t he?” Spencer was taken aback.

”He is a safeguard. Whether it’s you or that pack of wolves who cannot resist making a move, he would be able to stop it,” William chuckled and sat down, ”Besides him, which Legendary Mage could easily enter Wolf King Valley? Don’t look at those few Legendary figures among those wolves; Hill could wipe them all out with a wave of his hand.

Magical Beasts’ Legendary figures, they’re too weak. Even if they turn on you, with the knight’s defensive formation, you’ll definitely be fine.

In the Starry Sky, that wolf wouldn’t trust anyone else, but I’m not willing to just let you go like that.

Even if the wolf pack doesn’t resort to killing, what if they want to knock you down a peg or two?

To form an alliance only, why should my people be taught a lesson by a pack of wolves?”

”Because Hill is a Nature Warlock?” Spencer asked, a bit curious.

”You mean Nature’s Darling!” William picked up a jug of fruit wine and deftly poured himself a glass, ”He’s blessed by the Silvermoon; the Wolf Tribe is much more behaved around him. Unless you stir up trouble, they won’t attack without good reason.”

”What about the time when Silvermoon Wolf God ascended to the heavens?” Spencer also poured himself a glass, ”Hey! The food and drinks in Hill’s inn are indeed delicious, I should go buy some more next time.”

William smiled slightly at the mention of ascending to heavens, ”Spencer has been with the Undead Tribe for too long; he’s even learned to curse people with puns. When did he pick up such phrases?”

William would never admit that he had said such things himself.

”That’s right, I heard he got a Demi-God Artifact shield from a dwarf,” William laughed, ”What good is that thing to a Nature Warlock, especially one with Earth affinity? Adrian said that Hill threw it into a Magic Array to repair the Beast Soul of that Legendary Magical Beast.”

Spencer laughed: ”An Earth Legendary Knight would go crazy over that, right? Can the Beast Soul stay inside the shield after it’s been repaired?”

”Who knows,” William chuckled, ”But that kind of shield shouldn’t be used by humans, it’s not good for the soul. The same goes for Legends.”

”That’s just it!” Spencer swirled his wine glass, ”If this news had spread before he became a Legend, even with someone like Fran backing him up, people would have come knocking much sooner. The appearance of the Undead Tribe has made these Legendary Knights pay extra attention to their defensive power.”

”The news that comes out about Hill’s side is all harmless to him,” William grinned, ”Even Adrian might not know everything about him; that kid is very tight-lipped. There aren’t any gossips in his territory.”

”That’s true, his Magic Tower is said to have hardly received any outsiders,” Spencer said, ”I walked around his little town today; he really doesn’t care about management! So many people are going there, and he doesn’t build a city.”

”He’s a Nature Warlock,” William said with a laugh, ”After a fight with the Undead, he’d issue a planting mission; he’s probably afraid of having too many people, right?”

Spencer nodded, ”I used to not understand what being a Nature Warlock meant, I just thought it was about using Wood Element Magic; now I get it.

In that little town of his, the Knight Corps’ Magic Beast Horses stayed for just an afternoon, and when they returned, several were already advancing. I checked, and those squires had asked Tower Spirit for forage.”

”The Force of Nature in that grass is denser than the trees in my area. It’s very useful for our horses!”

”Hill won’t sell grass, forget about it,” William said with a smile, ”He can’t even afford to keep rabbits anymore.”

”Didn’t the Undead Tribe take them all?” Spencer said sadly, ”Why do they prefer rabbits? There are so many High-level Magical Beasts in that valley.”

”They prefer cuteness over combat power,” William replied matter-of-factly, ”This isn’t their world; having strong combat power is pointless. Hill has been very thoughtful; putting High-level Magical Beasts and those who like to fight together is the only way to train themselves. For others, who knows when they might stop coming?”

”What happens to those Magical Beasts if they suddenly stop coming here?” Spencer asked in alarm, ”Stay in the Magical Beast Space until they die?”

”Hill isn’t as foolish as you. The contract automatically dissolves if they don’t come here for 7 days; the God of Time and Space will directly return the Magical Beast to its valley.”

”Typical of the Mage Profession, always more thorough,” Spencer said, changing the subject, ”Do you have to bask in the moonlight here, what are you up to?”

”Curious if the Elven God King can restrain himself?” William sneered, ”Who do you think it was that attacked Silvermoon all of a sudden, causing the Moon Tree to wither?”

”Improbable! If He were that powerful, why would He need to lure the Hunt...” Spencer’s words were cut short by a loud noise from the starry sky.

Silvermoon trembled.

Laughter, like silvery bells yet ethereal and chilling, drifted from the sky.

”The Elven God King? Hehe~ You’re really daring to come, huh?”

The Elven God King remained silent, but everyone could see the long arrow that was fired.

Moonlight suddenly brightened.

Then all the stars vanished from the starry sky.

Spencer felt as though he was enveloped by the full moon, no matter where he looked.

”Your Majesty the King?” Unable to see William, Spencer grew anxious and his hand moved to the sword at his waist.

”It’s okay,” William’s steady voice reassured him, ”This is Silvermoon’s Illusion Technique, She’s counterattacking, just a bit overexcited.”

”Hehe,” the pleasant voice of Silvermoon came again, ”So you really are a bastard? Are you so afraid of your own father and stepmother? Then why do you dare to use the Name of God of the Elven God King?”

There was a loud noise among the stars: ”Shut up!”

”Our feud is far from over!” The voice of Silvermoon became ethereal, ”You don’t think I’d let it go just like that, do you? This is just a little interest.”

”Damn you, Silvermoon!”

The light of Silvermoon receded, and Spencer looked up at the starry sky.

A halo quietly appeared around the moon.

”That’s Silvermoon’s Divine Artifact; it seems what was shattered was just an illusion,” William laughed, ”It really was in the Wolf’s hands, and He returned it to Silvermoon when He flew up to the stars.”

William’s laughter was joyous; the Elven God King’s last ambush, aside from tricking the Goddess of the Hunt, was utterly futile.
