Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 329: Chapter 130: Magicians Who See Hill as the Hope for the Future

The Tower Master of Valencia’s plan to establish a permanent alliance with Saral had finally been approved by all legendary warlocks, and then she came personally.

William was quite surprised but readily agreed to sign the contract brought by the lady, signed by all legendary warlocks.

Of course, that was after having it reviewed by both the God of Time and Space and the God of Contract.

The contract from Valencia, obtained from the Main Temple of the God of Contract, was assumed to be without issues.

But even with Valencia’s startling beauty and her eyes filled with longing as she gazed at him, William carefully checked the contract many times before finally signing his name.

Only then did he smile and invite the beautiful lady to join him for afternoon tea.

Such a warm reception by William was truly unprecedented.

Even for the surprised look from the Prime Minister of Saral, Valencia did not hesitate to agree.

The two of them had a pleasant chat; when William wanted to be likable, his speech was indeed charming.

But mainly, Valencia wanted to briefly discuss recent moves from the Sorcerer Tower.

Some time ago, the Sorcerer Tower abruptly severed its alliance with the Mage Association and shifted towards the benevolent Space-Time Faction, which left everyone in disbelief.

The reason was that the magicians, a very powerful group, were of Demon Bloodline, tending towards chaos and evil.

That they hadn’t gone to the Noble Temple was a miracle in itself.

But they had forgotten the identity of the God of Time and Space.

These demon-blooded magicians truly understood how resolute the God of Time and Space had to be to completely sever the evil and chaos brought by the Demon Bloodline.

Their lives, although already ruined by their lineage, did not mean they desired to fall into the Abyss.

But if they fully demonized, even the Noble Temple would not accept them.

For their own future, this group of Demon Warlocks were the ones who hesitated not at all to seek refuge in Saral’s embrace.

They still hoped to trust a former Demon Warlock, the God of Time and Space, who would not harbor any prejudice against them.

Even still aligned with the Chaotic Faction, they wished to return to a neutral stance.

The Sorcerer Tower Master brought the aspirations of these Demon Warlocks this time.

William also straightforwardly promised to consult his own Main God on how to handle the matter.

Maintaining sanity for Demon Warlocks wasn’t easy; this depended on whether the God of Time and Space was willing to deal with such troublesome matters, William could only promise to ask on their behalf.

Valencia was quite satisfied with this assurance; that William agreed so quickly to make inquiries meant at least the Gods of Time and Space would not despise the Demon Warlocks, which was good news for the Sorcerer Tower.

When Valencia smiled, her beauty was truly unmatched, and William admired her greatly.

But Valencia did not feel uncomfortable being looked at in this way; William’s gaze was like that of someone appreciating a work of art, admiring her beauty without a hint of offense.

She looked at William, ”Actually, I did not expect that the Demon Warlocks would be the first to firmly decide on an alliance with Saral. Instead, it was the Water and Fire Elements who hesitated due to their legendary members, still distrustful of the Nobles. Fortunately, His Majesty the King’s decision was very satisfying.”

William smiled, ”Being open in one’s actions is good for everyone.”

Then, just as they were about to discuss further, they were startled by the disturbance from a distant Demi-God Artifact.

William looked westward, ”Master Fran is truly impressive! Such a powerful Demi-God Artifact, no wonder even the Dwarves there want a piece of it.”

Valencia looked at William, who warned the direction visibly and some restless Demigods, and couldn’t help asking, ”Master Fran seems to have caught His Majesty the King’s attention?”

”Of course,” William felt the other deities recede and turned back to say, ”Thanks to the help of the Mage Association, Master Fran is thoroughly Saral’s now.”

Then he glanced at Valencia, ”I just didn’t expect that Hill’s incident would hit you so hard.”

”My faction has always believed that warlocks can survive without relying on the Mage Association.” Valencia smiled, ”The former Tower Master Meg was ready to retire and has always been hesitating between me and another more stable lady. But if that lady became the Tower Master, she might have handed over everything to the Mage Association, something Meg wasn’t too willing to see.

Then the incident with the Elves and Dwarves erupted.

Meg discovered that the Mage Association had known about it for a long time but had never informed the warlocks.

The warlocks always knew this world harbored many secrets that only the Deities and Legendary Laws seemed to know. But never before had they been so angered as this time.”

Valencia glanced at the impassive William and silently abandoned the idea of probing those secrets. This man would not reveal everything just to impress a beautiful woman.

She paused for a few seconds, then continued, ”Elves and Dwarves are extraneous species, the so-called deities actually have little to do with the laws of this world, so the unspoken secrets are not forbidden, right?”

William nodded, ”Exactly. Actually, those deities all know.”

”It’s normal for deities not to tell us,” Valencia revealed a cold smile, ”Few deities pay attention to warlocks. But the Mage Association can’t do that. Among allies, some things must be shared. But it seems the Mage Association just sees the Sorcerer Tower as a subordinate.”
