Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 338: Chapter 137: The Drawn Demi-God Artifact

Hill smiled lightly, he didn’t need to think too much, the answer was right in front of him.

Silvermoon had made such an unexpected move that it led him to unwittingly disperse his thoughts.

This was the correct way to approach the Chaotic Faction!

The Goddess of the Silvermoon must have been in a good mood, Hill thought that the usually cold moonlight even carried a rare touch of joy.

He returned to bed, opened the window, and let himself fall asleep in this comfortable moonlight.

Hill felt that he would definitely have a beautiful dream.

Perhaps he would see a three-legged chair flying all over the sky with a blue-haired elf slowly chasing behind?

He fell asleep with a smile on his lips.

Maybe he was too happy today, the ancestral will in his blood also began to stir.

He showed Hill a joyful and warm gathering.

The Goddess of the Earth with brown hair, gentle and beautiful, extended her hand to invite her guests.

The lively Goddess of the Silvermoon, with long moon-white hair flowing to the ground, held a crystal cup, drinking excitedly.

And the Sun God with radiant golden hair, sat with his back to Hill.

His back was straight, a deity who looked solemn even from behind.

He also raised his wine glass, as if showing his gratitude to the Goddess of the Earth.

This was the Three Gods, in their everyday life when the planet was still intact.

The Goddess of the Earth, who loved studying various foods, would often invite the other two to the ground, to taste her creations.

The Goddess of the Silvermoon, filled with joy, waved her hand, causing various musical instruments to float around them, playing beautiful tunes.

The Goddess of the Earth frowned slightly and said to the Goddess of the Silvermoon, ”Don’t pay too much attention to the affairs of other worlds. Our world is not yet perfect, and it’s not good to let it be coveted.”

”Rest assured!” Silvermoon replied with a smile, ”That is an elf world, and there is no deity stronger than me. I have been very cautious, they can’t detect me.”

”We still need to patch that temporal anomaly soon,” the Sun God’s deep voice resonated, ”Even though there are no particularly powerful deities over there, what if they have some enemies? The three of us, our strength is still too limited. It would be good if more innate deities could appear once the world rules were perfected.”

”Let me show you the good stuff I got,” Silvermoon said with a smile, taking out a small box from which she revealed three peculiar seeds.

”Their elves are born from this tree,” her eyes sparkled with curiosity, ”Whoever plants them will determine their attributes. I secretly took three seeds. Our world also needs new life!”

The Goddess of the Earth picked up a seed and examined it carefully, ”These indeed are seeds without any laws, yet they possess a very strong life force. This should be a kind of degenerate World Tree seed. Don’t use this, let me communicate with the World Tree and ask for a few seeds.”

”Alright.” Silvermoon nodded, ”Let me keep these for now? After all, they are living things, let’s not destroy them.”

”Be careful then, it’s best to store them in a divine artifact. Don’t let them have any connection with that world,” the Sun God cautioned her.

Silvermoon cheerfully took out a circular ring, placing the three seeds inside, ”I’ll hang this on the moon. As long as my power exists, no one can reach them.”

The Sun God nodded, ”I’ll also use sunlight to purify any unwanted presences from time to time. Once our world has more deities, it won’t matter anymore.”

The Goddess of the Earth laughed, ”In the future, our world will surely be bustling, and Silvermoon won’t have to envy other worlds anymore.”

Silvermoon clapped her hands and started playing a cheerful melody.

”Very soon,” the Goddess of the Earth raised her wine glass, ”The world will soon be complete, to a beautiful future!”

”To more excitement!” The Goddess of the Silvermoon raised her glass with a laugh.

”To the world,” the Sun God said solemnly, also raising his glass.

Hill watched the three deities, joyfully toasting to the future of the world, yet he felt endless sadness.

Then he woke up.

This Earth Bear always fell into unbearable pain after reminiscing the warmth and beauty.

Hill shook his head, dispelling that feeling of unwillingness. He got up from the bed and sat back into the bath.

The Elven God King’s previous world must have been very close to this planet.

This world also had some innate issues, but they were minor and were being slowly remedied.

The Goddess of the Silvermoon had long known some matters about that world, so she could use illusion magic last night to bewilder the Elven God King. Although the people of the lower realm couldn’t see their conversation, Silvermoon must have obtained a definitive answer.

He recalled the smile of the Goddess of the Earth, it was truly gentle!

No wonder the Earth Bear could never forget the pain of losing her.

For hundreds of thousands of years, Silvermoon and the Sun had just recently revived.

Yet, the Goddess of the Earth was still silent.

Hill leaned silently by the pool, thinking: This Earth Bear must leave a bloodline legacy, is it worried that once it dies, it would never see the waking Mother Earth?

The Goddess of the Earth must have been severely injured, so much that the long-lived Earth Bear felt it wouldn’t see that day.

Luckily, it seemed to still be possible.

Hmm?

Hill suddenly stood up: his intuition wouldn’t deceive him, this Earth Bear, which had passed down its bloodline, must still be alive!

Hill cleaned himself up and rushed to the study, taking out paper and pen to draw the likeness of this Earth Bear.

However, before he finished, he stored the sketch in the desk drawer.

This bear must be a demigod, and a drawing of a deity could attract attention from its subject.

Hill wasn’t ready to meet his ancestral bear so soon.

His soul knew he was a descendant of the Earth Bear, the bloodline was very strong.

But his heart wouldn’t acknowledge it.

Still, he took out all his paints and quietly painted a scene of the Three Gods drinking together.

Hill immersed himself wholly in the painting, from the height of the sun to the rise of the moon.

With the Sun turning away, the Goddess of the Silvermoon in profile, and then the Goddess of the Earth facing him.

They were toasting joyously, with brilliant smiles on their faces.

Even the face of the unseen Sun God radiated joy from his body.

Behind them stood a colossal tree.

Hill thought for a moment, then decided to paint a fluffy golden bear paw peeking out from behind the tree.

He felt his ancestral bear had a chance to see this oil painting, so it was best to leave some room for it.

Hill actually thought those years of noble education at the castle were quite good.

As a count’s illegitimate child could attend the lessons, so Hill naturally did as well.

The Earl wouldn’t allow his children to lack basic noble education.

Even though the tutors at the Earl’s castle didn’t like him and didn’t care about his learning outcomes.

To them, Hill was merely accompanying Manton in class.

But Hill had received a fair share of the knightly noble education of this world: horseback riding, swimming, javelin throwing, fencing, hunting, painting, and music.

Compared to Manton, Hill, with his near-photographic memory, learned far more.

Otherwise, even if he knew how to paint in oil, would he need to figure out how to make his own paints?

Even if the ingredients were minerals, he didn’t have the patience to figure out all the colors slowly.

Besides, his foundation in painting buildings for architectural studies wasn’t that solid.

Mages didn’t need to wait for the paint on their canvases to dry gradually; Hill painted continuously for two days before finally putting down his brush at the perfect moment.

Just as the sun and moon were in the sky together, a sliver of moonlight and a ray of sunlight fell gently beside Hill.

They quietly watched the person-sized oil painting, standing still for a long time.

Hill stood nearby and waited, the two deities said nothing.

After a long time standing there, they infused the light they left behind into the painting after their divine souls departed.

Hill curiously touched his painting.

Then he lowered his head slightly, had he just acquired another demi-god artifact?

This oil painting would now gather the powers of moonlight and sunlight daily.

The first he noticed was the moonlight’s power.

Three times a day, it could cast an inspiration and encouragement spell, affecting up to ten thousand people simultaneously; the effect was: resisting all charm type spells, and immunity to fear magic within sixty meters, lasting three hours.

Once daily, it could use the ”Endless Fighting Spirit” spell; allies within a kilometer of the painting could receive Silvermoon’s power, enabling them to maintain combat ability despite serious injuries.

To explain, even paralyzed persons could be turned into fierce warriors with this spell.

The next effect was mental restoration. Once a day, it could restore the mental sea forces for those within a hundred meters of the painting.

The last spell granted was a permanent protective magic. Anyone within fifty meters of the painting would be immune to all mental magic and wouldn’t be deceived by illusion magic.

Then came the blessings of the sun.

Five times a day, it could use a collective courage blessing, which could also affect up to ten thousand people at once.

Once a day, it could use Scorching Radiance, an attack skill targeting factions. It could basically be termed as striking evil. Endless radiance would shoot outwards, piercing every member of the evil faction.

Since using this spell would consume all the accumulated sunlight power, it could only be used once a day.

Hill felt a bit troubled, this thing was really a powerful but indiscriminate attack move.

It would be very useful against demons, but if Hill didn’t want to offend everyone in the world, he had to be cautious about using it.

Who knew if some unlucky evil faction member might be nearby, just watching?

Even William, such a powerful demigod, only dared to declare his capital city free from the evil faction!

He didn’t even dare say that about the whole of Saral.

He had left Obastian for those people.

After all, lords and nobles easily fell into evil. Those who could remain neutral or only slightly evil were quite decent rulers.

Then there was a thrice-daily banishment spell for creatures from another world.

Was it really meant for demons? Elves were already deeply entwined with this world, not considered as pure otherworldly creatures.

Elements were not considered creatures.

So even for a banishment spell, it only had a certain chance to send them back to the Elemental Realm.

Finally, a Holy Light blessing. As long as you were near this painting, no evil could exist there.

Though the spells were powerful, Hill wasn’t that happy.
