Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 328: Chapter 129 William’s Guest, the Silvermoon Sorcerer Valencia

Fran, though somewhat regretful, knew that this was Adrian’s personal choice, and he wouldn’t interfere too much.

”Grandfather, is this the one you crafted in your legendary days? Wasn’t it said to be of the Space Series?” Hill shifted the topic.

”That’s right,” Fran smiled. ”Though it is a Sphere of All Spells, its foundation is of the Space Series. Each facet is a small spell space that can hold an infinite amount of elemental energy.

I’ve always wanted to make one of these Spheres of All Spells, but back in those days, each facet could only cast a spell once before becoming useless, and it could only release the power of the spell that was stored at the time. What use was my knowledge of so many spells then? The ones I made during my Archmage period couldn’t even be used when I reached the status of a Magister.

It wasn’t until the Space Element emerged that I found a way.

The infinity of the Space Runes is indeed very impressive.

Today, because my power is limited and I haven’t stored enough energy, its power is only this great.

If it were to accumulate energy over a long enough time, even the power of a Demigod wouldn’t be a problem.”

Hill, absorbed in thought about that vaporized mountain and land, wondered if this was still just a display of its unexerted power?

The Demi-God Artifact was indeed very powerful.

Adrian also looked on enviously, but such a Sphere of All Spells, unless mastered by someone like Fran who understood all the Laws thoroughly, would not be fully effective for anyone else.

It’s like the thousands of spells Fran cast in one breath; there was actually a sequence to them.

It was just that Fran activated them with such rapid spiritual power that it felt like they were cast simultaneously.

But Hill understood very well that some spells, if cast at the same time, would cancel each other out rather than flying together like that.

This thing, even if given to Hill, would not be operable by him.

If Hill could bring out even half of this Demi-God Artifact’s potential, that would already be a display of his ability.

Adrian issued an envious sigh but certainly wouldn’t dare say he could create something similar.

He was even less capable than Hill!

Fran looked coldly at the two unimpressive juniors, his eyes filled with fierce light.

Neither had asked for the method to create this Sphere of All Spells, clearly both had given up on it.

Hill quickly took out two sets of Magic Books and handed them to Adrian: ”Keep one for yourself and deliver the other to His Majesty the King.”

Adrian flipped through them and his eyes lit up; he chuckled with delight, ”Are you planning to give them to the King’s Academy?”

”Of course,” Hill said earnestly, ”when new spells are born, they must be disseminated. The King’s Academy is the most suitable place for that.”

Adrian pocketed the books: ”Once I’m in the Royal Capital, I will deliver them directly to the Royal Palace.”

He gave Hill a gentle smile and, in a rare gesture since Hill became legendary, patted his head.

Adrian knew it was somewhat unfair to Hill that he hadn’t stepped in to clear out the Mage Association members from the Magic Tower.

But he had no choice.

Adrian had to consider his own legacy.

Fran was clearly heading for the Starry Sky in the future, and Hill might leave too.

He didn’t know if he would reach legendary status by then, or if any of his students held a hope of reaching it.

Miller and Carl, both several thousand years old, still had not a single legendary student among them.

Adrian could afford to disrespect the Mage Association, but he wasn’t ready to completely turn against them.

Hill’s act of passing on Wind Magic Books through him was a sign that Hill held no grudge.

If Hill had directly handed the books to William, bypassing Adrian, Adrian would have understood but also felt somewhat uncomfortable.

But he couldn’t complain, after all, it was his own choice to begin with.

At this moment, Adrian truly felt grateful; Hill was magnanimous and had no intention of holding such matters against him.

”Did you memorize that Magic Array?” Fran ignored their exchange and asked Hill directly.

Hill nodded: ”I did. Is it a charging array?”

”Exactly,” Fran brought out a huge blueprint, ”both of you, remember this. There are only a few nodes that are absolutely untouchable, the rest of the Law Runes can be changed as needed. It’s best to use this when you need enormous energy for your refining in the future.”

Hill quickly noted down the nodes, comparing them to the Magic Array in his memory.

It would be very handy; Hill thought of setting up this array in the homes of the Element Lords. It would be easier with Single System Law Runes!

Fran was actually quite spent, so seeing that there wasn’t much else to discuss, Hill took his leave.

Hill wasn’t interested in the method of crafting the Sphere of All Spells, but Adrian had to memorize it.

Hill didn’t plan to stick around to witness his pathetic fate.

This artifact had taken Fran so much preparation and was only truly mastered after reaching legendary status. The transitioning between different system Laws involved would torment Adrian.

This wasn’t just some simple Law Rune that you could understand and be done.

It required constant calculation.

The mathematical capabilities of a High-level Mage, if in Hill’s original world, ought at least to equate to a scientific calculator, right?

Those instantaneous space calculations were something ordinary people couldn’t achieve.

And for Alchemist Masters, even though most of them have Tower Spirits to help with calculations, they themselves are already close to the ability of supercomputers, with Tower Spirits simply helping to reduce calculation times rather than the Alchemist Masters being incapable themselves.

Fran is the pinnacle of Alchemy Masters.

Now, Adrian, a man yet to reach supercomputing capabilities, is required to use the highest-level supercomputing speed to calculate the refining method of this Demi-God Artifact.

One can imagine how miserable that is.

If it was a weapon Hill very much desired, he would have stayed to learn how to make it.

There is no need for secrecy with this thing.

Compared to some unique alchemical techniques passed down by the Magic Tower, it is the manufacturing method of this thing that Hill could learn if he wanted to.

It would be good enough if Adrian could understand the production method, but unless his students could be taught by Fran, this Sphere of All Spells is doomed not to be passed on.

In the world of alchemy, the method to make artifacts of this kind has never been easy to pass down.

The Divine Artifacts refined by deities based on their own laws are completely different from those made by Mages.

Therefore, the deities in the Starry Sky all pay attention to the birth of this Sphere of All Spells Demi-God Artifact.

This is quite different from those so-called Demi-God Artifacts made by demigods utilizing the innate laws during their ascension.

Only the latter kind of Demi-God Artifacts would the White Wolf God casually give to Hill.

And Hill, proficient in the same series of laws, could use it as he pleases.

Such Demi-God Artifacts could never possibly evolve into Divine Artifacts.

But for Fran’s creation, as long as he has the ability, he could turn this Sphere of All Spells into a real Divine Artifact.

Even if the White Wolf had such a powerful Demi-God Artifact, he would rather place it in a warehouse to admire than give it to Hill, even if he could not refine it.

Thankfully, there was William’s warning, otherwise, some deities would have been unable to resist snatching it away; in that case, even Hill combined with the Magic Tower might not be able to withstand them.

But if it wasn’t for William’s presence, Fran wouldn’t have completely finished this Sphere of All Spells right now.

Legendary Mages capable of creating Demi-God Artifacts usually choose to make them in their own Half-plane after obtaining one.

In such a place, even deities would find it difficult to discover, much less easily enter.

Fran and Adrian also discussed this matter.

”Teacher, why did you suddenly refine it, didn’t we agree to wait until we found a Half-plane?”

”His Majesty the King promised to help fend off the deities and demigods that would covet it,” Fran said slowly.

Adrian laughed helplessly.

He suspected that Fran had secretly asked William, confirming that this future deity was willing to help, and then, fueled by anger, he had not hesitated to refine it directly.

As for those impulsive Legendary individuals, Fran very much trusted Hill’s capabilities; even if he would show mercy, they were not a few Legends that could defeat him.

Although it seemed like Hill only had four Element Lords, if he truly went mad, no one knew how many lords he could summon from the Elemental Realm.

Fran never imagined that there actually were Legendary Swordsmen who thought Hill would be easy to deal with because he was young.

Fools like that, probably no one would sigh when they died.

Adrian and Fran lamented Hill’s abilities, and after this time, there should be no one left who thinks this child is easy to deal with.

Hill flew in the sky, feeling very content.

The Mage Association has really been hit hard this time.

Fran had always kept secret his ability to refine Demi-God Artifacts because it was hard to fight against many.

But now, with his heir Adrian already working by William’s side, they were essentially allies.

With a God System backing him up, and being a powerful Legendary Alchemy Master himself, Fran had far fewer concerns when acting.

Yet, the Mage Association had offended him deeply.

To have offended an Alchemy Master capable of refining Demi-God Artifacts for such foolish reasons, one wonders if those people are now trying to shift the blame onto each other?

Hill was unaware that at this very moment, William was discussing the same issue with his guest.

She was a breathtakingly beautiful woman that even William was surprised at.

He spoke with an unusually respectful demeanor.

This Tower Master of the Sorcerer Tower had come to the Saral Royal Palace directly, without alarming anyone or paying heed to the Mage Association’s efforts at reconciliation, and had signed an alliance contract with William.

In the past, she had only allowed sorcerers willing to come to Saral to send a pledge of allegiance directly to William because not all legendary warlocks were willing to trust William.

To cut ties with the Mage Association did not mean that they were ready to place their futures in the hands of a deity, even if it were a benevolent one.

But as Saral truly allowed the sorcerers to settle in their respective fields, even those legendary warlocks who did not trust deities began to waver.

Those who truly opposed an alliance with Saral were not the ones from the Evil Faction, but rather the Water Sorcerers who had suffered under noble oppression.

The Fire Element Warlocks also were unwilling; they were powerful but prone to impulsiveness, thus often deceived.

Already fiery by nature, these warlocks felt like they were burning up at the thought of dealing with nobles.

But when Saral truly allowed the Warlocks to build a Fire Element Warlock City on his land, the attraction for them, who loved excitement, soared suddenly.

The Water Series felt secure enough, and with the revelation from the settled Water Legend in Saral of the immensely lethal spells learned from Hill, they too changed their minds.
