Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 330: Chapter 130: Magicians Who See Hill as the Hope for the Future_2

”I don’t think so,” William laughed. ”I think they see the Sorcerer Tower as a vassal, so it’s best for the Sorcerer Tower to know nothing. If they were subordinates, they would have been informed quickly.”

Valencia chuckled playfully, her eyes twinkling, ”I’m just trying to save face for the Sorcerer Tower. Subordinates are at least one of our own, but what is a vassal? Bad news goes to you, good news not shared?”

William laughed again, then looked into the distance, ”Hill’s actions are quite swift now! Oh~ the power of the bear!”

Valencia couldn’t see what was happening in the distance and hurriedly asked, ”Has Polanio made a move? Well, besides him, Master Fran wouldn’t trust anyone else for protection.”

”All four Element Lords were summoned, and they used Wind Spell, a Hurricane of Legendary Level!” William exclaimed in admiration, ”Such power matches that of a Legendary Knight, doesn’t it? And a lightning strike to add to it; the kid’s hands are pretty ruthless now!”

”Polanio has the blood of the Earth Bear, powerful abilities are normal,” Valencia relaxed her body and said with a smile.

”There’s no problem there; Master Fran is about to succeed,” William leaned back in his chair. ”Let’s continue!”

Valencia frowned slightly, why was William so focused on Polanio?

”Meg was very angry at the time and directly handed the position of Tower Master to me. It seemed to have something to do with His Excellency Dilante’s untimely demise and the Dwarves. She didn’t say much, but it seemed that if His Excellency Dilante had known the Dwarves weren’t a native race, it might not have happened.”

”I remember His Excellency Dilante was Fire Element?”

”Yes, Fire Element. Meg is too, but she has better patience. However, if someone touches her raw nerve, she explodes fiercely.” Valencia said faintly, ”I suspect she relinquished her position as Tower Master before the War of the Elves just to take revenge on the Dwarves.”

William laughed; the ways of sorcerers could indeed be amusing.

”The only thing a sorcerer can do is to avoid letting personal grievances affect the entire group,” Valencia couldn’t help but say when she saw William’s smile. ”Otherwise, no country could escape a sorcerer’s revenge.”

Her face showed a trace of sadness, ”But doing so, sorcerers would be extinct too,” William, showing his apology, personally poured a cup of tea for Valencia.

Valencia burst out laughing immediately, ”For thousands of years, sorcerers have learned to adjust themselves. But a betrayal by allies is absolutely intolerable. At that time, there were still some hesitating.

It was indeed difficult to persuade the sorcerers to break away from the Mage Association. Many were unwilling to confront human society directly. But after all, we could not live without humans, and we had to rely on the numerous branches of the Mage Association to bring in new sorcerers.

If sorcerers were willing to search for people worldwide, they wouldn’t have depended on the Mage Association back then.

And regardless of the bloodline, sorcerers are just a different kind of mage. Even the awakened spells were invented by mages.”

Valencia suddenly looked west, her vibrant brow showing a hint of sharpness, ”Polanio’s presence is a stimulus for sorcerers. We don’t know why the Mage Association has to suppress him. Maybe they can’t tolerate a sorcerer who can perfect the laws and create magic on his own.

But we will never allow the Mage Association to harm this one sorcerer, the only one in thousands of years filled with creativity.

He showed us that even if born to be only a sorcerer, it’s not the only path one can take.

A sorcerer is just another type of mage, they are not a different species at all.”

William watched this rare sharpness from the female sorceress and raised his eyebrow.

Did Valencia think he was paying too much attention to Hill?

It seemed the sorcerers saw Hill as the hope for their future.

”I heard the Water Legend is studying a spell created by Hill?” William bluntly tore away the veil of pretense, ”and even told Hill he didn’t need his help. If Hill weren’t so good-natured, he would have turned against you already!”

Valencia saw William’s cold gaze and realized that the king of Saral indeed paid close attention to Polanio.

”Alexis is blinded by the hope of becoming a god,” she had to admit, ”Polanio, the sorcerers here all believe he will inevitably become a god. This is Alexis’s only hope, so he acted so pathetically.

But to Polanio, it’s just a minor issue; he doesn’t even care.”

William sneered.

He also realized that Valencia was clearly dissatisfied with Alexis. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have spoken so harshly in front of a stranger.

She could have described Alexis’s actions more pleasantly.

It appeared that in this lady’s heart, Hill held a much higher place.

But when she had just become the Tower Master of the Dilante Mage Tower, she lacked the ability to stop a legendary warlock like Alexis from doing foolish things.

Or rather, Hill’s importance in her heart wasn’t significant enough to disregard her status and go against Alexis.

He had heard bits about this Water Sorcerer’s life.

William didn’t find anything worth sympathizing with.

Compared to those compelled, Alexis was a typical fool leading himself to ruin.

Love is a rare blessing to encounter even once in a lifetime.

But some people believe that every pretty woman will unconditionally fall for a philandering guy.

William found it laughable. Without money or status, being a virile breeder, a smart man would know these women are just coming for his seed!

Reaching the Archmage stage, he should have bound such a steed, about to turn into a dragon, with chains.

If it flies away, what then?

It was just that the noble acted sooner; otherwise, someone else’s misfortune would be next in line.

Only such a fool would dare to bully when the entire Sorcerer Tower extended friendly hands to Hill.

Over the years, he indeed helped Dilante with many things.

William truly thought this Water Legend called Alexis wasn’t just shameless but also quite stupid.

No wonder he was so miserably fooled by a group of nobles.

He directly sent someone to the spell’s creator, saying he was more capable and would perfect the spell faster.

Reportedly, Alexis even figured Hill wouldn’t kill anyone?

Is the Sorcerer Tower superior to the Mage Association?

Despite being one of the first Legendary Sorcerers to pledge loyalty, William found Alexis’s character too poor, his mind too empty, probably full of water.

Besides, William didn’t believe someone like that could gain acknowledgment from the Water Law.

Relying solely on the faith of water sorcerers to become a god is too hard.

Moreover, he had a slight understanding of Hill; although normally amiable, he was quite spoiled with a rich kid’s temperament.

He might let things go, but if someone forcefully snatched from him, he wouldn’t just give up without retaliating.

Yet, Hill didn’t even respond to this incident.

He didn’t even mention competing in perfecting the spell quicker.

Apart from not being interested in the spell, there had to be other reasons.

At the very least, Hill was certain Alexis could never become the Water God through that spell.

Adrian was very agitated when he first heard the news.

But was silent the next day.

Hill must have given him some information to calm that eager guy.

William understood Adrian’s reluctance to completely break ties with the Mage Association.

But he still felt that as a mage, Adrian repressed himself too much.

Perhaps due to his noble heritage? Adrian’s obsession with legacy was clearly deeper than his teacher’s.

However, Fran and Hill seemed unconcerned. As an outsider, William didn’t meddle.

The affairs of mages, William thought he could never comprehend, even if he ascended to the starry sky.
