Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 317: Chapter 120 Hill’s Biography, Drafted

The Mage Association, in whatever task, always thinks of killing two birds with one stone.

In their eyes, once Hill was angered, he would certainly think about elevating his status.

And as long as Hill wanted to raise his status within the mages, he naturally would start teaching some wind spells to the mages.

After all, despite provoking, the people of the Mage Association indeed had coveted wind spells.

If Hill did not plan to take on students, the most convenient targets to impart knowledge to would be the junior mages of Fran’s Magic Tower.

Hill didn’t say anything, but Fran and Adrian should understand in their hearts, among these mages in their tower, there were definitely some closely associated with the Mage Association.

The Mage Association there was certain that as long as Hill was willing to teach, they could get their hands on the magic models.

Adrian had previously been curious about wind magic but hadn’t mentioned it in this period.

Hill understood that he had no plans to find out who it was.

Fran could ignore the Mage Association, but Adrian could not.

Yet, he also did not plan to ask Hill about wind magic again, not wanting to create a rift in their relationship.

Therefore, Hill and Adrian had always been very careful about maintaining a sense of moderation in their relationship.

Unlike Fran, who was a blood relative, Adrian was merely a close friend and he would not prioritize Hill’s interests above his own.

Hill couldn’t do it either, so he would never make excessive demands of Adrian.

So, after some thought, Hill decided to first develop a set of wind spells on his own, and then consider teaching others, even though it might end up benefiting William, but he preferred to irritate the Mage Association.

Didn’t they also think that making Hill unhappy wasn’t a big deal?

Hill also wanted to return the favor of unhappiness.

Hill told List to keep him informed when the magicians left Keslow to start constructing their Magic Tower in the west.

He would then go fulfill William’s order, blessing his treants and garden with Nature’s Blessing.

Then he would research wind magic, at least figure out the basics first for teaching in William’s school.

Hill had been pondering on this matter for the past few days.

As long as the laws of wind magic were perfected, someone would eventually figure it out.

Even magical beasts of the wind element would gradually appear.

Perhaps, in a few thousand years, the skies might see the soaring of giant birds.

Hill, having the advantage, cannot simply give up.

Then the simplest way is to let as many people know as possible, rather than letting certain individuals monopolize it.

The Mage Association thinks that aside from Fran’s Magic Tower, only their own people should know.

Hill certainly cannot give up propagating wind magic just to guard against them.

If he simply kept it for his own use, the Mage Association might be even more pleased, as not many would know the new spell, thus unable to affect the Mage Association’s status.

After much thought, Hill decided that direct provision to William’s school was the best option, tackling the direct competition to the Mage Association.

Now, with only the low-rank mage Saral, in 100 years, who knows how many archmages or even magisters there would be.

Moreover, Hill wanted to know, after the God of Time and Space learned it, how long it would take to develop a wind casting method for the Undead Tribe.

Honestly, the spellbooks in Saral’s school were clearly created by a master, with casting methods so detailed and standardized that they seemed abnormal. Fran even got several copies for his own apprentices to study.

A mage of slightly better talent could learn quite a number of spells with these materials.

Thus, William’s Mage Academy actually produced a lot of low-rank mages.

Perhaps high-rank required a talent that diligence alone couldn’t make up for, but low-rank was possible.

Many who were previously only apprentices progressed to become mages using these materials.

For many people, indeed using just about a dozen spells for a lifetime, becoming a professional was the most fulfilling moment in life.

After seeing those materials, Hill made a special point to find Boen, insisting he relearn the basics using these materials, suggesting that maybe in 20 years he could become an archmage.

Fran’s magic books were the most detailed Hill had ever seen, yet the materials from that master clearly defined every node and linkage of the spell.

Others might not understand, but alchemists certainly did.

This only implies that the God of Time and Space, before making the elemental bodies for the Undead Tribe, had deconstructed all spells and even the Knight Swordsman’s skills down to the most basic nodes and connections.

Therefore, the Undead Tribe can easily switch their spell lists, needing only to go to the Temple of Time and Space and pay to switch their elemental body.

Because that master, in this respect, was truly approaching all-knowing and omnipotence.

Hill was very curious to know, after handing over these basic skills of his wind magic, how long would the God of Time and Space need to let the Undead Tribe start a new Mage Profession.

List quickly provided Hill with feedback, after receiving Wang Ling’s order from William, those magicians had rapidly used the Teleportation Array with the messenger to travel to the western Border City, and were now almost all gone, leaving only Abigail’s legendary elder still in Keslow.

Unlike Abigail, this person known as the Silvermoon Legend is indeed in charge of the Sorcerer Tower throughout Saral.

Hill calmly looked at the distribution chart of magicians by element that William had provided. Besides using the Thunder Element to replace the Wood Element, it was a layout of a pentagram based on the principle of generating inter-promotion between the elements!

The Border City nearest to Hill, the Nature Warlock, had an Earth Magician stationed there.

Then in the middle lay the Silvermoon Tower.

Hill shook his head and after speaking to List, he teleported directly to Kexlote.

The last time William’s messenger had brought a gift, as soon as Hill agreed to take the job, he had paid him the reward.

So, there was no need to meet with William again. Hill just greeted the head steward of the Royal Palace and then made his way to the garden.

The gingko tree had already moved the Alchemy Hut from its form and stood tall in the garden.

For the treants, there was no need, nor did they like to change locations often.

Finding a place with good sunlight, dew, and scenery was not easy. Once they leave, who knows what other plants will compete for that fertile land.

The treants in Hill’s area were willing to move because of their proximity to the Wood and Earth Elements. Every inch of Hill’s domain was fertile soil.

They could root and sleep wherever they went.

Seeing Hill approach, the motionless giant tree reverted to its treant form.

”Long time no see,” it said in a deep voice, ”are you here to release Nature’s Blessing?”

Hill smiled and nodded. After greeting him, he released the Growth Blessing centered on this large tree.

”Ah! Truly comforting!” the tree exclaimed as its voice grew softer, ”I’m going to sleep now, grow...”

It transformed back into a large tree.

Hill’s spell easily covered the entire Royal Palace.

Many saplings and shrubs visibly grew taller, and the tall trees spread their branches and leaves more comfortably.

Hill smiled pleasantly and summoned several Wood Elements, allowing them to roam free for an hour within the palace grounds before returning to the Elemental Realm.

Then he lightly jumped onto the gingko tree, planning to wait until it was time to leave.

Otherwise, William might feel that he was overpaying.

Showcasing the effort involved in the project in front of the client induces them to pay more willingly next time.

William, in the middle of a meeting, paused and looked towards the direction of the Royal Garden.

”Your Majesty?” Noticing William’s distraction, the Chancellor asked curiously.

”Hill is here. He’s releasing Nature’s Blessing,” William began to smile, ”The air in the palace, even the scent has changed, and the happiness of the plants makes me feel very comfortable.”

”Mr. Polanio?” The Chancellor also turned to look, ”With him here, the elves’ claims that humans are abandoned by nature simply hold no ground.”

”The Elven God King originally took the position of the Lord of the Moon Elves indeed to entice Hill,” William revealed a faint cold smile, ”But before Hill even received the news, the Forest of the Elves was already in uproar.

They tried to win him over through those half-elves from the Mage Association but then those guys messed up with a divine position of the God of Half-Elves and completely scrambled it.

Next, the Mage Association tried to play hard first then sweeten the deal, only to utterly fail, making even the Sorcerer Tower flee.

Hill really is a lucky guy, not a single leaf hit by scandal, and the troublemakers got wiped out first.”

”I hear Mr. Polanio is eternally carrying a blessing from Natural Consciousness?” the Chancellor asked with a laugh.

”Correct,” William nodded, ”Natural Consciousness only blesses the beings of this world, so the only elf blood that might remain in him is probably that of the Moon Elves.”

He rarely sighed, ”Hill is probably in for a big shock.”

”Why?”

”Yesterday, the Undead Tribe submitted a draft to me, they have been studying the history of Saral! It’s not complete yet, but they released a part related to Hill already.

I glanced at it, it seems he always thought his mother Melanie was just a simple romantic, but unfortunately, she turned out to be a mandragora.

Being a fool for more than 20 years and the whole world knowing your folly, that’s enough to bear.

Rare to establish his reputation, only to encounter this kind of thing.”

”A daughter of a Court Mage raised in the Royal Palace, how could she be simple?” the Chancellor asked in surprise, ”Is he deluding himself?”

”Perhaps he hopes in his heart that his mother was a good person?” William couldn’t help laughing, ”Or since she’s dead, he might have embellished her image.”

The Chancellor shook his head wordlessly.

”Speaking of which, I used to think that Hill, like me, was an outsider!” William said casually, ”But then, knowing the Natural Consciousness within him, that wasn’t possible. Moreover, if he had memories from the past, even at twenty-something, he wouldn’t be so naive as to not see Melanie’s true nature. Hanging out with those princesses of Saral, even if they seem pure and innocent, they’re like dark lotuses.”

The Chancellor laughed: ”He’s nothing like you, the Undead Tribe doesn’t have anyone like him either.”

”The Undead Tribe actually has many like him, but that kind of personality, they just go play by themselves and don’t let you see them,” William chuckled while seated on the throne, ”Happy children can afford to have such carefree, naturally innocent personalities.”
