Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 313: Chapter 116 The Sorcerer Tower’s People Have Arrived

For the Sorcerer Tower, the Mage Association, forever gazing into the starry sky, is considered less trustworthy than the future deity of this very world.

Moreover, he doesn’t require faith to accept disciples.

For most magicians, joining a nation is a desired fortune.

In the past, nations sought independent magicians, not ones affiliated with any organization.

That kind of legendary warlock leading a large group of followers would be vehemently rejected by other nations.

Magicians are just impulsive, not foolish.

Of course, they had no choice but to keep company with the Mage Association, for even their own can come to blows.

”Sir, you don’t seem worried about so many magicians moving nearby?”

”They will probably live in the Border City,” Hill said indifferently, ”His Majesty the King has always wanted to deploy the army to the south. Now there is no need to worry about magical beasts attacking the city all the time.”

”Maybe in the future?” List remembered Hill mentioning that magical beasts might become enemies in the future.

”List, His Majesty the King has almost left the desperate tasks to the Undead Tribe,” Hill stood and looked at the moon outside the window, ”Do you know how many newborns Salaraldo has had these years? Since the emancipation of slaves! His Majesty the King has already started constructing towns on both sides of the Royal City.

With William’s position and authority, the future plan he has made for Salaraldo could not possibly be opposed by anyone.

Hill had glanced at the blueprints for the first batch of towns. They were posted outside the public office building by William, visible to everyone.

A manic builder who didn’t skimp on materials was truly fearsome.

He didn’t give up on road construction just because he could use the teleportation array as a Professional.

That straight line running directly from the Capital to the north and south stunned many people.

Once the trade route connecting north and south is built, the commonfolk William intends to distribute would truly have better lives.

Of course, only those who are at least at Apprentice Rank can transport goods.

However, even as the entire nation encourages civilians to send their children to school, to ensure that these children can at least reach Apprentice Rank before ending their studies,

William has not given up on the current ordinary citizens.

They might never leave their city for their entire lives, but as long as they are diligent and hardworking, they will be able to live peacefully.

Although William hasn’t planned to finish it in a short time, Hill understood that William set the schedule based on the domestic population growth rate.

The large factories newly constructed in Keslow, William unhesitatingly divided into different types and placed them in the satellite cities at the four corners of Keslow.

According to William’s arrangements, if the population growth of this world isn’t fast enough, Salaraldo could almost provide for the world’s needs for the people.

Hill felt that William would soon be implementing policies to encourage childbearing.

And that first batch of children who went to school, they must have graduated by now, right?

Time really flies.

While Hill kept cultivating, William never stopped striding forward.

It takes at least a thousand years for magical beasts to become powerful.

But after a thousand years, human numbers won’t be as pitiful as they are now.

At least in Salaraldo, High-level Professionals should be at a very high and stable level.

William would not bet on this so-called game lasting a thousand years.

Besides, by that time, the Sun and the Moon might not be willing to help anymore.

Even an Elemental Body has its limits.

Although Hill does not know how long this Elemental Body, which combines the power and wisdom of three deities, can last,

William, too, certainly does not believe it will exist eternally.

Hill rose, changed his clothes, feeling much better now.

”If people from the Sorcerer Tower come, please direct them to the Magic Tower,” Hill instructed List, ”I doubt they’ll send a Fire Element magician to meet me. That way, they won’t be too uncomfortable in this valley.”

”Certainly, sir. Shall I clear out the second floor and redecorate a bit? The higher floors are not too suitable.”

Hill nodded.

By convention, Hill could have expanded his Magic Tower to twelve floors by now.

But Hill had no such intention; constructing more floors just for storage seemed pointless.

After all, every floor of the current Magic Tower, aside from the cultivation room and the top floor, had been expanded using Space Crystals by Hill.

It was spacious only because Hill had an abundance of materials.

But to make this decision, the envoys of the Sorcerer Tower, still hosting at the small town’s Lord’s Mansion, would be somewhat inappropriate.

The Magic Tower was about to welcome foreign guests for the first time.

Hill sat in his study, perusing the information in his hand.

The introduction to the deities was somewhat blunt.

The Elf God and the Dwarven God had been overly dominant in exploiting the laws of the world, not seeming like gods born from the laws but more like they became gods and then took control of the laws.

Being hostile towards the land and disrespectful to the Sun and Moon, even severing their mortal worship,

All indicated the questionable identities of these gods.

So, has the Mage Association known the truth for tens of thousands of years and yet nobody plans to intervene?

Hill reminded himself to remember that there are hardly any mages aligned with kindness. Their manipulation of the laws emphasized their fearlessness towards the world.

They are willing to assist a deity willing to step forward but are definitely unwilling to actively confront an enemy as powerful as the Elf Deity System themselves.

Just like Fran, he is already one of the rare virtuous mages.

But he would be willing to fight to protect the world, yet would surely not risk his life.

The moment before the world was completely destroyed was also the moment when Fran left without looking back.

As for Hill from the Kind Alignment, he would probably try to stay until the last minute, to see if he could save some lives.

Therefore, Hill has always felt that his kindness was solely because nothing had threatened him yet.

There were many writings about the God of Nobility, which Hill did not pay much attention to.

The Mage Association looked down on Him.

A deity whose nature was lost to the wavering of His alignment, influenced by excessive faith.

But at the very least, this God of Nobility wanted to try to save the ruined world after ascending to the starry sky.

Although He ultimately failed and even His past pursuits and faiths were pitifully forgotten due to the poison of worship.

Hill disdained the introduction of the deities by the Mage Association, which knew neither the origins of elves nor dwarves. Hill, who had been slapped by that black spider, knew better.

Their belittled God of Nobility, in some respects, was a bit more respectable than the mages who only thought of fleeing.

Of course, this might still be because of the education Hill received in his past life.

Like Fran, Hill had no idea of fleeing the world, but he also had no objection to the methods of those who were legendary in the laws within the Mage Association.

But Hill never believed that someone with no origin could find a true destination.

Hill wanted to know who had helped the God of Nobility establish His kingdom at the beginning and managed to suppress the God of Smithing, who was backed by the dwarves, into complete silence.

But there was not a single piece of news.

They didn’t even question and absurdly thought that the God of Nobility succeeded with the help of the elves.

Has their excessive pride blinded them?

What followed was something Fran believed that Adrian and Hill shouldn’t see at the magister stage.

All about the detailed introductions of various laws.

Hill flipped through it for a while and saw lots of inexplicable stuff.

No wonder Fran had said that they were just dipping a toe in the door and had never even touched upon the law lines.

It probably all hinged on fate, with a segment of the law resonating just enough to pull them in for a glimpse.

Once the resonance ended, they were thrown out.

Such legendary mages probably couldn’t even beat magicians of the same level, right?

Isn’t this some kind of research produced by the elves on magicians?

A mage, worthless upon leaving this world, how could they be considered a mage at all?

Hill sighed and cast aside these materials, feeling that they should also be archived as they could be quite harmful.

If those mages with inadequate talent could become legendary through these, there might be some use.

But in reality, elves with insufficient talent could rely on their long lifespans to slowly comprehend.

Humans with inadequate talent, on the other hand, definitely could not.

Those humans who could ascend to legend through this actually had the power to do so on their own merit.

It’s mostly people like Miller with few law lines who couldn’t.

But certainly not those who call themselves legendary mages yet struggle to even invoke laws to cast spells.

The last part of the materials was all about some preliminary surveys of the Elemental Realm and the starry sky.

It included some paths that had already been explored.

But it also pointed out the dangers of these paths, which are constantly changing; even if someone just passed by, the star path might collapse right when you are crossing it, or you could be sucked into a spatial rift, unsure of whether you are dead or alive.

Be it the Elemental Realm or the starry sky, the same applies: with unremitting changes, you should not casually venture out unless your power is sufficient.

Hill understood as he looked at the last note marked, ”3 legendary laws or above required to even consider these issues.”

Deep down he knew, what Fran didn’t want Adrian to see was crucially this.

Adrian barely had 3 laws.

But if he saw this, the perpetually proud Adrian might lose his way and blindly pursue the number of laws he controlled.

The time for a mage actually flies by quickly; even though Adrian now has a lifespan of over a thousand years, he still needs to be cautious.

Hill decided to have List archive all these materials.

He didn’t want Adrian to inadvertently see any paper when he came to visit.

Although Hill knew that the Undead Tribe might not end the battle so quickly, the fight outside Hill Town had lasted another full 2 days before concluding, with some still engaging in small team skirmishes.

He was genuinely curious and asked List if he knew the reason.

After all, Hill knew that the Apocalyptic Boss had only paid them up to the day he finished receiving the Mage Association.

List could only helplessly tell him, ”The insults were too filthy, too out of control to rein in.”

Hill gave him a bewildered look.

”It’s not on our side,” List said with a stern face. ”Here His Majesty the King is very strict, and using homonyms is impossible. But in their own world, on the forums, they can indulge in filthier cussing.

It might have started as a provocation, but later both sides couldn’t stop. Some people, with just their mouths, can make tens of thousands want to tear them apart, and that’s the situation now.

At this point, the Apocalyptic Boss couldn’t stop his own subordinates either.”

There’s no point mentioning Snow Cloud Peak, as he had to join the fighting himself.

Hill shook his head helplessly, ”Remember to commence the farming tasks outside the territory. When Snow Cloud Peak comes asking about the Magical Beast, let them in directly; I’ve already made arrangements with the bunnies.”

Just a few minutes after List left, he quickly returned, ”People from the Sorcerer Tower have arrived.”
