Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 847: Chapter 541: Give Up, All of You (Part 3)

Wang Jing always regarded Zhou Lan as a mentor; it was Zhou Lan who initially saw potential in her and signed her on.

Over the past two years, Wang Jing has been quite satisfied with her development; she is willing to trust Zhou Lan.

In fact, there is no better choice in Chengqian Entertainment than Zhou Lan.

So, even though people occasionally tried to sow discord, Wang Jing remained unfazed, handling situations as they arose, unaffected.

Even when He Yong privately suggested she could apply to change agents, after careful consideration, she did not follow He Yong’s advice.

What Zhou Lan can offer her, He Yong cannot.

Wang Jing has clearly understood this point over the past two years.

Therefore, upon seeing Yuk Chu, Wang Jing tactfully greeted her with a ”Sister Yuk Chu.”

Yuk Chu warmly hugged her, saying, ”Congratulations on your nomination for the Lingjun Award.”

Wang Jing smiled and said, ”Thank you, Sister Yuk Chu, we’re family now.”

Yuk Chu nodded, ”Of course.”

Their intimate actions were intentional, meant to be seen by everyone around.

Those hoping to see them in conflict should give up.

...

At this time, the U.S. distributor of ”Behind the Scenes” contacted Zhou Lan, wanting Zhou Yun to participate in the screening event for ”Behind the Scenes.”

Since ”Life” previously earned $3 million at the U.S. box office and gained some attention through online streaming and TV broadcasts, especially selling well in the DVD market with a good reputation, Zhou Yun has garnered a lot of likes and attention from American moviegoers. ”Behind the Scenes” also won the Cannes award, which itself attracted a lot of independent movie fans, so the U.S. distributor has high hopes for ”Behind the Scenes,” having held several internal screenings, receiving very high praise from film critics.

Shi Luoqi coordinated with the distributor for a long time and finally decided to conduct a small-scale release of ”Behind the Scenes” before gradually expanding it.

The final scale of ”Behind the Scenes”’s release will depend on its box office performance.

In order to promote ”Behind the Scenes,” the U.S. distributor hopes Zhou Yun can participate in the promotional activities.

Zhou Yun has to shoot ”Deep Sea” in October, and her schedule is tight, with other work scheduled for September.

Zhou Lan said, ”I’ll negotiate those assignments, coordinating the schedule a bit; going to the U.S. to promote ’Behind the Scenes’ will greatly benefit your future career. Sister Luo Qi discussed with me wanting ’Behind the Scenes’ to enter the awards season in the U.S., to see if it could possibly compete for the Oscars.”

Zhou Yun widened her eyes in surprise.

She had heard of the awards season, but she did not expect Shi Luoqi actually intended for ”Behind the Scenes” to compete for the Oscars.

”Certainly, we’re not aiming solely for this. The key is that you are already at a very top position domestically; with such good conditions and the current trend of globalization, you should adopt an international approach.” Zhou Lan said, ”Your starting point is high, and ’Life’ has received excellent responses in various countries. Don’t let this momentum wane; the U.S. is still the top place in the film industry, bringing together the world’s best cinema people.”

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”But the awards season would be challenging for me to accommodate at the end of the year, as both ’Deep Sea’ and Director Kang Xin’s film are waiting for me to shoot. What should I do then?”

Zhou Lan said, ”We’ll deal with future issues as they come; let’s first do what can be done now. It’s a pity Xiao Jing is filming ’Youth Story’; otherwise, such a great opportunity, I would certainly take her along.”

”What about Mr. You Jiang?” Zhou Yun said, ”Lily probably can’t go, but coordinate with Sister Luo Qi, aim for everyone to participate in the promotional work if possible.”

This is an excellent opportunity for every actor involved.

Going abroad, they will meet different people in that film industry; nobody knows what opportunities a single meeting might bring.

The key is, first to let people see you.

Zhou Yun hopes every member of the ”Behind the Scenes” team can achieve better growth.

Zhou Lan certainly agrees.

In fact, Shi Luoqi desires the four main actors to attend promotional work.

”Behind the Scenes” plans to hold a screening event in Los Angeles on September 22nd. Shi Luoqi originally hoped all four main actors could attend, but Zeng Lili is preoccupied with taking care of her husband and declined.

Wang Jing is busy filming ”Youth Story” under intense pressure, leaving no room to adjust her schedule.

In the end, only Zhou Yun and You Jiang embarked on the journey to the United States.
